I wanted mgs v to be a soap opera starring boss, ocelot, miller and co.
Fighting Games are better than MOBAs
I've saw quite alot of people complaining that fallout 4 was a let down? I dont know yet since I'll be getting it for Christmas and ive been avoiding spoilers. I hope it isn't a let down.
I have no GOTY because 2015 has been pretty lame for games. I think I played 2 new games this year.
HELLO?! Rocket League?!
You'll have a lot of fun with it but you start to see some of its faults the longer you play.
Yup, as is the case with every Bethesda game since Oblivion. Not like in the good ol' Morrowind days where the faults were apparent immediately but you saw its fruits the longer you played, or back in the good ol' Arena days where the faults were immediately extremely apparent and they never went away because there is no fruit because Arena is ass. It's still very much a Bethesda game. No but for real, from what I've seen this is just the same story as FO3 and NV on repeat, in other words, you can basically take all the same pros and cons and tradeoffs that made FO3 and FNV different but equal and apply them here in 2015 with modern graphics and Far Cry-esque gameplay. When and if Obsidian makes a sequel to New Vegas, I expect we'll be having the same debate we had with FO3 and NV. My advice for you going in to Fallout 4 is, just don't succumb to hype culture. Forget fanbases, forget anything you've heard, wipe your mind's slate clean so you can form your own opinions. Don't have weird or unreasonable expectations, and remember, it's just a piece of media. These are the same rules that you should apply when watching or playing anything though, because hype culture is shit. Don't get hype.
Hotline Miami 2 was my personal goty.
That reminds me: censorship is stupid. I can't legally play Hotline Miami 2, despite being an informed adult. What is the censorship even trying to achieve? Kids are tech savvy enough to pirate the game so it sure isn't protecting them.
Fighting Games are better than MOBAs
That's not exactly a feat that's difficult to accomplish, lol.
i loved 1 but most of the levels in 2 were just frustrating that soundtrack tho before i played i thought it was just gonna be a bunch of overhyped, average songs but no, it's actually all around amazing
Hotline Miami 1 is good for the fun factor while the second game is aimed more torwards the people looking for a challenge.
Fighting Games are better than MOBAs
what a weird comparison
PvP of any kind is completely unenjoyable for me, Singleplayer and Co-op are the best types of games.
It's the opposite for me. The AI is just dumb most of the time, especially in strategy games, and just resort to cheats. I'd rather play against a competent human.
Hotline Miami 1 is good for the fun factor while the second game is aimed more torwards the people looking for a challenge.
it's not challenging in a fun way though it's just the levels are poorly designed around the gameplay, they're levels meant for a super fast twin stick shooter without any big changes to hm1's formula to make it play like one. so you wind up baiting dudes in huge open areas and getting shot down super long hallways and losing like five minutes of progress every time you die it's like if you put E1M1 in a Rainbow Six game, the level just wasn't made to be played like that

More like, one minute tops. Unless you're not trying to chain kills at all but there's no fun in that.
Woah what. More like, one minute tops. Unless you're not trying to chain kills at all but there's no fun in that.
it's an exaggeration but i'm also thinking more of levels like takeover, demolition, the prison one, and most of beard's and manny's levels. i S ranked most of those so i don't think i'm bad at the game. the fan ones are okay in terms of not wasting your time but they're still overly reliant on baiting and big stupid hallways, which is why there's no reason to play tony once you get the swans

Fistfighting my way out of takeover was painful (especially when trying to do a perfect chain on every floor)
I still wonder to this day... Why didn't they give Richter's stages he's Uzi from the first game instead of making me fistfight 10 armed thugs that are all over the same room?
I still wonder to this day... It also showcases his inexperience in raiding bases. That being said in at least one of the levels he should have been given his signature uzi.
bladee > Yung Lean
Payday 1 > Payday 2 ...kinda odd I feel that way considering the fact that my favorite Payday character is Houston.
HELLO?! Rocket League?!
One of 2 new games I played this year. It's fun.

I don't like the long scenes and pauses in Samurai Jack. Like, in the third episode there is a pan of this robot bug army but it takes I think 20 seconds long. I get that it's supposed to show you the size of the threat but I already get it's going to be a hard battle for Jack. I love the show, just don't see the appeal of long pauses and long sceanery scenes. I guess it's because I'm used to fast paced entertainment.
CS:GO feels really dull
I think episodic releases are a worse scam than most micro transactions
Hype culture is dumb. Getting all hyped for something tends to create unrealistic expectations which are then followed by disappointment when the product inevitably doesn't meet the expectations you imagined when you got all riled up. Getting hyped doesn't benefit anyone, especially not you when you spend several months trying to pack every single bit of FO4 information you can in to your head before release and get all excited and then you play it and realize oh wait, it's just a Bethesda game that's not an incredibly complex RPG and is full of flaws just like every Bethesda RPG. And that's fine, but it's not fine to the person who spent months frothing at the mouth over it. Like IHE said, when you're going in to something with 500 expectations, word of mouth, word of friends, articles, trailers, a metric fuckton of fanart and all this bullshit it's just too much to fucking think about for a fucking piece of media. The Star Wars Episode VII movie is coming out this december and that's what everyone's shitting their pants over right now and it's ridiculous because you don't even know if the film will be good or not. Part of the reason nobody in the industry gives a shit what you think about how much they show in movie trailers, early access games never being finished or having meager content, and crowdfunding scams is that people do exactly what they want so they have no reason to believe otherwise. You don't have to pick apart every frame of a trailer, you don't have to buy a game before it's out of early access, you don't have to hunt for leaks and pick apart the minor details in a background scene, and read or write 450 articles about a rumor about an object in a oh hey how did this picture of a pack of vultures get in here anyway yeah that's my thoughts don't get hype and you'll find yourself enjoying things more I reckon
life would be pretty boring if you didn't get excited about things you like
See but that's all you need to do. Get excited. I'm excited about Star Wars Episode VII, I can't wait to see it, but I can tell you I'm not on Tumblr drawing fan-art and posting gifs, buying toys, I'm not rifling through hundreds of Star Wars wallpapers, I haven't seen any behind the scenes footage, hell, I haven't even seen a trailer. I don't think about it 99 percent of the time, because Star Wars Episode VII is not the Earth shattering event that hype culture tries to build up every single piece of media to be while inevitably failing every single time. It's just a movie.

People get so fucking upset if something doesn't meet their expectations they've built over the months of hyping up they've been doing, which can often mean anything less than perfect. Also, yeah, really, hype culture. I don't have a better name for it, do you? It's a large sweeping aspect of humanity that's constantly constantly being done by millions of people, and it has a lot of the same patterns and actions and behaviors. It's a cultural thing.
