Unpopular Opinions V5: "I still don't like Half Life 2."

Fallout 4 is stale and a disappointment, I'm not sure if it was because I was having a shitty couple of months or not but when I saw honest gameplay footage of it I felt a crushing sense of despair and wanted to kill myself.

When I'm forced to defend my opinion about this I just feel that depressing sense of hopelessness again, I really haven't been able to adequately explain why I hate the game because what's the point? Even thinking about it makes me sad. I think it's that bad of a game, it just saps all the life out of me.
IMO there are 2 kinds of mens fashion.
The classic timeless "here is how to look great wearing simple stuff".
And the fucking crazy trends that come and go that we should just ignore because its all a huge marketing sham.
Of course the latter is going to be fucking stupid/terrible because ideally from a marketing perspective its the kind of clothing you want to replace the moment the trend dies down.

That's kind of pathetic.
I totally believe that Jar Jar Binks was supposed to be the main antagonist of the prequels but lucas weenied out under pressure
i cant fathom how anyone would think of it as anything more than a dumb joke that's a bit fun to think about

Even if they figured out a way to logically make him a villain, I would still think it's incredibly stupid and shoehorned.
i cant fathom how anyone would think of it as anything more than a dumb joke that's a bit fun to think about
It adds a bit of intrigue to movies so totally lacking in subtlety
though i do agree that I wouldn't want to see him really be used as an antag in a serious way.
Everyone picks like Bond or Baron Samedi in Goldeneye multiplayer. I always thought the question mark characters were the best.
I think Counter-Strike is bad and people play it because they don't have to learn any interesting movement mechanics.
I'll clarify, when your game's best tech is a weird strafe that is essential to accurate shots, I hate your game.

CS is the game that relies, above almost any other FPS, on twitch aiming skills.
It's also the one thing I'm super bad at in FPS's
Probably why I'm a TF2 guy. At least there I can just play the character with the big explody rocket or short range flamethrower.

Map strategy is huge in CSGO and I have a ton of respect for people with good team skills. But that's the extent of it aside from weird smoke grenades on maps with inconsistent boundaries. Only a small portion of the playerbase can throw a nade on the fly and that's really strange to witness as a Halo player.
Edit: How do you practice one smoke spot in particular for a night but you can't bounce a frag off a wall to damage a guy behind a box?
When two friends came over to my house some days ago, they made me watch the first episode of the One-Punch Man anime
I found the whole thing so obnoxious and unremarkable that I had to PHYSICALLY prevent my friends to open up the link to the second one and threatened them not to make me see that anime again
The NCR is the best faction in New Vegas. It uses ISIS... err Legion to justify its bullying but that bullying has lead to the spread of stability and democracy.

Professional CSGO is like two teams of mind readers who know every pixel of the maps so they can make the craziest shots and moves. It's a tug-o-war of advantages.

Considering that for the Empire strikes Back George Lucas originally wanted to give Darth Vader a secret lava lair with pet gargoyles and demons but everyone else told him it was a shitty idea it wouldn't surprise me the slightest if the Jar Jar Binks theory was true.

Is that a metaphor?
I both love and hate spiders.
I like going to those insect zoos and having a tarantula crawl up and down my arm, however if I woke up in the middle of the night and saw that exact same tarantula in my room I would be freaking the fuck out, I like stuff like spiders but only if they are in a controlled environment.

First episode is very different from the rest of the show. The appeal is when Genos and the other characters show up. OPM himself is not that interesting of a character but he's a driver for other characters

I feel bad for your friends, they tried to stop you from violating the 3 episode rule
a lot of shows have shit first episodes, but then improve a lot right after

The three episode rule can be broken though
for example, if you hate high school romance animes and it's clear from the first episode that the anime you're watching is a high school romance anime, you can break that rule

I have this rule that if something doesn't interest me right of the bat, I simply drop it
That may sound a bit harsh but really, ANYTHING can interest me, so I have to protect myself if I don't want to pass every second of my life watching, reading or playing something

And some shows do the inverse, such as sword art online which had a great first few episodes but declined very quickly afterwards. But still, I like to give a show a couple chances to draw me in before I tune out. Sometimes even genres you typically aren't interested in can win you over.

That's not harsh it's narrow minded. First impressions are important but if your attention drops immediately after that you're probably gonna miss out on metric fuck-tons of stuff you would've liked had you waited it out a bit.
I dont watch anime

if anything, him wanting to add this generic, laughably bad "evil" stuff to make the bad guy seem worse shows how bad he is with subtlety and makes the jar jar theory even less likely
don't get me wrong, i love it. it's one of the most clever fan theories out there. but it'd also be the most retarded twist in cinema history

Did I also mention that I'm currently in a mood where all anime look and feel like smoking shit to me?

Honestly, I'd recommend trying the second episode and then giving up

Umph, at the very least those two will finally shut the fuck up about it, I'm game

there's so much media out there that starts off slow but gets better as it goes on. some filmmakers/writers/game devs are just better at developing (or even ending) a story than they are at introducing it. i've almost turned off movies that later ended up being some of my all time favorites
