Unpopular Opinions V5: "I still don't like Half Life 2."
I surely don't intend this to become a debate religion thread but just curious what do you do with the parts of the bible in which jesus plays less of a direct role?
To be 100% honest, I'm not entirely sure myself. I see the Old Testament as sort of a more "This is how we got here," thing. But after Christ's ascension, I'm not entirely sure. I'm still trying to work that out myself.
I've always thought of religion as something you ponder on your entire life.
I think Undertale is a mediocre, bad looking game and it's fanbase is the new my little pony.

i can agree with the "bad looking" part, its a pretty damn good game with awful graphics. you should give it a shot if you havent, but the fanbase is super fucking obnoxious
I always have to do a double-take whenever I see Homestuck's reputation, because the comic is totally fine. It's the fanbase that somehow ruined something cool.
Browsing the Internet on an tablet is better than browsing on a desktop.
Until you visit a website that has no mobile or mobile-friendly version.
Mobile browsing has been the future for some time.
Google even pushes down websites in their results if they aren't mobile friendly. I never had a problem with it anyway, wikipedia's mobile version is fucking trash even.
Shepherd's betrayal in Modern Warfare 2 was a really fun twist, and to be fair, the story wasn't half bad.

"Mobile friendly" websites are the worst on phones and tablets

for a Call Of Duty plot it definitely isn't the worst one out there

Black Ops 1 was the most fun, in my opinion. With "Oh man it was in your heaaad the whole tiiiime bro!" still seems like a cop-out, if you play the campaign again you notice that other characters shoot looks at you whenever you "talk" to Reznov.

I might just be having rose tinted goggles, however, as I had a shitload of fun with Black Ops multiplayer with my friends. We'd play for hours at a time in private matches and have just oodles of fun, we loved the game to death.

I enjoyed the BO1 twist because I've always seen the games as the "cheesy action movies" for video games, so a plot point like that is just pure gold :v:
ubisoft really needs to go out of business
ubisoft really needs to go out of business
last time i checked everyone hates ubisoft

You've played it right?
Both of the things you stated are pretty poor reasons to instantly dismiss a game as mediocre.
Warhammer is dumb
I don't really mind Warhammer by itself, but I mind how some 40k fans feel the need to make references to it and make shitty jokes about it constantly.
e.g Does a game have any form of monster/alien NPCs? Expect "This is HERESY! Die xeno scum xD" jokes ad infinitum.
I think some pop is actually really well crafted, perfect combo of instrumentals and voice to create a massive hit, enjoyed by people from all over.
Call it trash if you like, but I've gotta hand it to the people who make the songs, they know how to make an earworm.
the most common criticism i hear about pop music is that it's all the same. this is true, but i like how vsauce put it; that pop music has evolved to perfectly scratch whatever itch you have when you want to listen to pop, the reason they all sound the same is because thats exactly what you want to hear
[editline]20th December 2015[/editline]
and lets be real who doesn't love some taylor swift every once in awhile cause i know i do
There's more to not liking pop music than just because people believe it sounds bad.
The principle of a lot of it, that it is basically engineered to be as catchy as possible and made solely to maximise profit, is enough to turn some people off of it. Sure, there are pop-stars who have put in a lot of passion and honesty into what they do (Bruno Mars is the first one who springs to mind for me) but there are a lot of pop musicians that are total throwaways.
Gears of War 1 had some of the worst online multiplayer I ever played, and still does. It has pea shooter syndrome and the whole "tap A to stay alive" has got to be one of the stupidest gimmicks in gaming history. It's like a bastard child of "dedicated medic character" and "unlimited health regen soldiers."
GoW2 was a lot better, if only for horde mode. But fuck GoW1.
Music that doesn't have a strong, easily identifiable, and unique melody is generally not enjoyable as music that does have those features. Songs with weak primary melodies feel "generic" to me. It's what separates your generic Hans Zimmer action-orchestra trash from something like Pictures at an Exhibition, for example. Bad action orchestra tracks generally have some "rolling tune" that is comprised of a procession of a lot of really quick notes and a few interspersed heavy "BWAAAMS" or something. A masterpiece like Pictures at an Exhibition has a recognizable theme in every single song and an omnipresent overture that continues throughout the piece and ties everything together.
The same thing goes for pop, but it works a little differently. And the way pop singers sing is awful. They stretch and distort their syllables to match the song because they aren't creative enough to write lyrics and instrumentals that flow together. So you get those "Ah ah ahs" or "yeah yeah yeahs" that suck. There is no progression and little harmony. Rappers do it too, but by just spouting out their lyrics on top of a single-tone bass line that cavemen would scoff at.
Also, injecting meaning into a song through lyrics is absolutely stupid. "Meaningful" music with a bad style is bad music. Style is substance in music, and there is no avoiding that fact.
The only music that I would grant an exception to when it comes to these rules are ambient or progressive tracks that use ultra-long notes and construct an atmosphere using the content (pitch, bass, treble, and other characteristics of a sine wave) of their melodies instead of the arrangement of their melodies.
And yes, music that I do not like is complete garbage trash, and my infinite wisdom can be superseded by nothing save for the heavenly aether itself.
I don't care for Jim Sterling or his content.
I don't care for Jim Sterling or his content.
People that encourage doxxing and harassment are trash.
I didn't care for him but the shit he did with the tranny gladiator dev is shitty
and that he's trying to take advantage of #FucKonami to sell merchandise
fuck Jim Sterling
What was so shitty about what he did to the TG dev?

He was trying to avoid an argument or something with adam sessler on-stage. He's gone back on saying that sort of stuff.
Fracking is like pouring water into an empty wine bottle just to mix in whatever wine traces left inside and saying you have more wine.
I don't care for Jim Sterling or his content.
I would care a lot more for Jim Sterling if he dropped his dumb gimmick. Him wearing a suit or standing behind a podium or whatever just makes him look stupid.
If he just did his content directly and professionally, it would increase my attitude towards him ten-fold.
People that encourage doxxing and harassment are trash.
He doesn't encourage it though? He's actively condemned it.
And if you're going to post that context-less clip with Sessler, let me reiterate that he was agreeing with what Sess was saying before, and then Sess immediately jumped into "SO LETS FUCKING DOX THE FUCKERS" and Jim was caught off guard and didn't want to start a debate about it in the middle of the panel.
And as for the Tranny Gladiator thing, it went down like this:
Jim makes video on game and finds it offensive.
Jim's VIEWERS attack dev
Jim condemns viwers actions and appologizes to the dev, offers advice to improve the idea and make it more acceptable
Dev apologizes back, things seem close to copacetic
Then people send death threats to Jim
and Dev starts backing the people making the death threats.
What'd Jim do wrong there now? Oh right, he's part of the spooky sjw squad. He doesn't like the word tranny, fucking panic.

Sources are nice things that actually gets you forward in discussions. At least they are good for moving away from "No you" kinds of arguments.

Fair enough. On TG:
People attacked Pan Games, Jim claims he didn't want them to be attacked and respects how they're appoligizing for offending people [1]
Offers advice along with Laura K to hire a consultant to help the game better represent transgender people [1] [2]
Then when people come to attack Jim, they stop the respectful apologies and start retweeting people talking shit about Jim. [1] Classy.
Even after explaining why he disabled comments on the video, (http://tl.gd/n_1so2nrm) and after the drama itself, he disavows the hate given out by his viewers
As far as Pan Games goes, for those trying to make me a bad guy - I gave it the treatment I give *every* trailer in that series, it's just now people have points to score so THIS time it's bad. If Pan Games really did receive all the death threats and harassment it claims it got, I want to make it clear, as I have in the past, that I do not condone personally going after developers, and anybody who sends death threats is not welcome in my audience.
And lets be clear, this is just twitter drama. I don't care if people want to make a big deal out of it. If you don't like Jim, that's fine by me. Hell, I even understand why. I like him but I can totally get why people don't. I just think its a bit off to say this is all Jim being antagonistic.
As for the Doxxing thing, I'll have to keep looking. I know I've seen a statement by Jim a while back saying what I've said, I'm just having trouble finding it. I'm not lying about that, and obviously I don't expect you to take my word for it, but it is what it is.
