Unpopular Opinions V5: "I still don't like Half Life 2." - General

Stones can be good if I'm in the mood, but they can be really repetitive sometimes, and simple sounding. Also a lot of their songs seem to have themes of beating women down for some reason and it's kinda weird but whatever floats their boat I guess

Some Rolling Stones songs are decent, but overall their music feels like just the bare bones of rock.

Hitman is such an awful game. It's so sexist. You can only play as a man. I'm so offended.

Pink Floyd gets better and better with every year that I live. back when I was a pot smoking teen I thought they were boring, which is ironic. now every time one of their songs pop up I pause and end up listening to the whole thing while frowning; their writing is just so incredible. Everything they've done could be considered incredibly angsty, except for the fact that all their music is totally based in somber normalcy and everyday tragedy. Other great music seems comical and petty compared to Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd is great but I could honestly do without all the annoying 15-20 something year old "I hate my generation" dadrockers acting like it's the only psychedelic/space rock band ever or the only thing worth listening to. It's no differnet from the kids who only listen to metal or people who are obsessed with the Beatles and think everything that came after them is shite. Roger Waters is also objectively a bellend.

Mariah Carey's singing voice has turned to absolute shit and she needs to stop trying so hard. To expand on this, I really am [i]so tired[/i] of hearing the same classics being played during the holiday season. Mariah Carey, Frank Sinatra, handfuls of other "classic" songs sung by their respective musicians. We need more varied classics, because really, do we really want to be listening to the same classics 10, 20, 30, even 50 years from now? Hell no, not me at least.

Honestly, I don't want much - I just want good bands to cover classic songs. I'm not saying it's overrated, but its just an accessible prog rock album. Praising it like it's the greatest thing in music ever makes other people want to call the album/band overrated. Same thing for Led Zeppelin IV and how people can overhype the "greatest song of all time" to the point where everyone hates it. And all the dadrockers willing to defend, say the 60s, I found it funny how most of them won't likely mention bands like The Velvet Underground or how we should have more "arty" music today like Trout Mask Replica.

I find the term 'cis-gendered' horribly offensive, and when I hear people use it I immediately think less of them.

It has a legitimate factual use. If people are misusing the term then that should make you think less of them. If they're using it in a legitimate way though and you think less of them for it then you're just being stupid.

That Atlantis animated film was absolute garbage. I first saw it a few years back, and honestly, it was bad. Not because I didn't have any nostalgia for it, but because it looked like it had so much potential and I've heard so much endless praise for it over the years. I tried not to rely on any of that for my impression of the film, because I'd just be hyping myself up, but from start to finish it was just so damn generic. The characters, the plot, the [i]everything[/i] about it seemed like it was plucked out of a cookie cutter and left under-baked in the oven. The art style was amazing, however. That was actually the only likable thing about the film, to me, at least.
