I rather don't like Undertale.
I'd like some elaboration on why.
That seems to be a popular phrase within the trans-community.
It is? News to me then
Most of the African nations were better off when controlled from Europe. Another thing which aggravates me to no end is that the so called heroes of civil rights in Africa, like Mandela and Mugabe, ended up fucking over their respective countries and tried to act like their shit policies and inability to do things correctly was because the big evil European nations supposedly "sabotaged" their progress.
Oh and don't even get me started with Rhodesia. Ya' know, how Mugabe and friends have entirely forgotten about certain key points of infrastructure, like the Kariba Dam, which now has the possibility of breaking apart and possibly causing a catastrophic disaster at the cost of a million lives and possibly plunging that part of Africa back into the stone age.
The whole "Down With Cis" thing is a Tumblr meme originating from when someone wrote an obviously fake story about how they were walking with their friend when an entire bus pulled up to them and a crowd of people wearing shirts that read "Down With Cis" climbed out and beat up their friend. People who say the phrase are usually just calling back to the sheer absurdity of the story and how ridiculous and awful it was that somebody would try to pass that off as real at the expense of the trans community.

cispeople are jerks and will go to extreme lengths to demonize us NEVER FORGET
Also I'm really starting to believe that people who harass hunters and fishermen should be arrested and charged with a felony instead of a misdemeanor. I seriously hate it when you are fishing and someone tries to kick your fishing rod because, "STAHP, FISHING IS EVUL!" I mean fuck. My father and I had it happen to us while we were catfishing back in Arizona because someone tried stating that we were responsible for some random ass bullshit and decided to kick our rods. Yeah. What's worse is you really cannot do a whole bunch about these types.
It gets even worse when you are hunting for deer and turkey. During the first few days of the season, you'll get tons of activist going around acting like deranged retards to scare off animals, while also putting themselves in the line of fire with hunters.
So yeah, lets make it a felony to harass hunters and fishermen.
Writing comedy is harder than writing drama

you can disappear them into the woods
you can disappear them into the woods
I fucking wish I could. Not even gonna lie really, if I'm ever hunting deer and someone decides to do some of that shit, they'll disappear into North Dakotan farmland.

chrissakes man its not worth that even if they are being assholes

Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, they are pseudo-conservationist and they constantly attack hunters all the time. It's such bullshit.
Even when you get the police involved to have them arrested for breaking the law, namely for assault, they'll only ever get charged with a misdemeanor. You'll never see them spend more then a week in jail.
Hell, one year ago two hunters were actually shot at in a field by a PETA supporter with a .410 shotgun, because they were hunting ducks and the guy didn't want them to. Even though the hunters had permission to hunt on the property from the property owner and the man who shot them was just trespassing.
As mentioned previously they also never listen to any bit of reason regarding your hunts. For example, if you are doing something like controlling deer populations so that deer are not starved out in mass numbers during winter or hit by cars, you'll just constantly hear them decry that hunting is evil and that you don't understand because its something a hunter wouldn't understand.

That's pretty much true in all ways but it isn't worth making them disappear and then winding up worse off if you get caught. I agree the law needs to be harder on such nut cases but becoming the same as they are won't help in any way.
can we tone down the murderous revenge fantasies ty ty
I seriously do not see why people get into long-distance relationships when they meet online, e.g Steam, when they live countries apart from each other and have no chance of meeting up.
I'm probably going to get burned at the stake because I know there's a good few people on here who have these LDR's, but I just see it as pointless, how can you have a relationship that has no physical contact whatsoever, people often act completely different when they're off the computer and you can't even know if they would act the same in a social situation.
VR is pretty cool and I hope some good things come out of it but I'm sure it'll have its cons and I wish people didn't put it on a pedestal almost as if it will replace traditional gaming
It'll be its own thing but replacing keyboard+mouse or controller entirely is a stretch
I just don't get how, mainly on FP, doubting some of the capabilities of VR even in the slightest is so highly contested and frowned upon.

Yeah, I don't buy the whole full body motion capture thing. Really I think most games will just support the headset. Motion capture is janky anyway and there's still a long way to go before it's superior to keyboard+mouse or controllers.
VR will be super nice if it allows you to control lean in FPSes

That seems to be a popular phrase within the trans-community.
Dunno if thats the fake trans or real trans crowd. Guess the opinion here will be "fake trans does it exist" and is a serious issue as far as the reputation of transpeople go since they're just the worst attentionwhores possible.
Do you really take everything you read on the internet seriously? Like it is the most obvious of jokes when people say "cis scum" or "fucking cis people amirite?" Sure there are a few people who do not get the joke in the community who then think that being cisgendered is somehow bad, but there are literally bad apples in every group of people ever, it by no means shows that everyone in the trans community hates straight people, nor does it differentiate whatever a "real" and "fake" trans person is. I know I make this analogy all the time but it would be like saying the people who did the Columbine shooting represent everyone who has ever played counter strike instead of representing people with greater mental health issues.
I don't know why I did because I fucking loved the gameplay of MGS5 to pieces. Maybe that was it. I tried pretty much everything I could and made it a long haul through the game. I beat like mission 32 and I couldn't get myself to continue the game, I even shelled for the collectors edition. It probably has to do with me already knowing the big twist of the real ending of the game and most of what happens in the final chapters, I guess I just didn't want to experience the writing of the game go even more downhill into mission 45 and feel the real phantom pain. (I know there are still some amazing missions I'm missing) but the consensus I've seen has been about the writing falling to more pieces throughout act 2. With not very much story related character development and things just not really closing the book of MGS on the best note. I know I'll get to the end eventually, I just never expected this from MGS5 from the years of waiting. I guess that's also partly my own fault for the expectation.
TL;DR - I didn't think MGS5 would be the game that would just have a point where I was just able to drop the game and move on to the next without beating it. Considering how long I'd waited for it and been excited.
This is gonna sound extreme but MGSV is the largest gaming-related disappointment of my life. I guess that's what happens when you religiously watch the trailers for three years.

"down with cis" started off as a dumb story a cis person made up on tumblr. they apparently said that a bunch of people got off a bus wearing tshirts saying "down with cis" and beat up their cis friend in front of them. the people that picked up on how ridiculously stupid this story is started repeating "down with cis" or incorporating it into things to make fun of the notion that there are people out there who organize violence against cis people.
it's not at all comparable to "die cis scum", which is the closest thing you'll get to a real life comparable scenario, and that person only spoke about it.
it's not really attention whoring so much as it is bringing to attention that trans people are constantly victims of violence, abuse, and murder (for basically being trans) by pointing out that violence and abuse against cis people for being cis is effectively a myth.

agreed
the game was boring, and the entire narrative was stupid and hilariously overcomplicated
spoiler alert: [sp]you can't let the metal gear thingy make a public appearance because then everyone is gonna want one and that's bad because they're also nukes because there's a bacteria which will eat their depleted uranium armor and turn the things into unregulatable suicide bombs, but the bacteria is controlled by skullface, and the whole thing is only part of a plan to turn the world into a bunch of tiny countries which can't talk to each other due to the miraculous parasite which only kills you if you speak English. also there is a strain of the deadly parasite which instead of killing you, turns you into a supersoldier who can become invisible. oh yeah also you're brainwashed and the REAL solid snake was off doing other stuff the entire time.[/sp]
the entire thing reads like it was written by an actual elementary schooler who just spent a weekend watching 80s action thrillers
between cutscenes you get to infiltrate identical poverty-stricken villages and shoot people in the legs with tranquilizer darts, which will allow you to tediously assemble a collection of unseen mercenary servants so that you can unlock better silencers. Once you spend hours airlifting people to unlock items, you get to spend hours waiting for those items to unlock, so that you can more effectively infiltrate poverty-stricken villages.
it's all fine though, because the game has -~-hilarious-~- gameplay features like the famous cardboard box, which can be used as a sled. It also features a slew of incredibly creative characters, like Skullface, the bad guy, or Revolver, the guy with the revolvers.
And who doesn't love [incredibly central plot character from the mobile game that nobody played]?
The game rests like a turd on top of what is a phenomenal and audacious spy-thriller franchise. It's garbage.
As someone who had never played a MGS game before I picked up TPP last week on sale, it's pretty fun as a gameplay standpoint goes. I've just been going around in freemode looting and Fulton'ing everyone I see or getting tired of that and going in guns blazing shooting everyone in sight.

The gameplay was pretty fun (minus a few nitpicky things I have) but the story was handled so poorly and the contrast between how the game looked and felt in the trailers versus the actual game was so inconsistent that it really killed the rest of the mood the game had after playing it for the first few hours.
Once you realized the big open world was just that, a big open world, but not filled with anything really concrete in it apart from like 3 species of animals (or was there 2?) and a couple outposts here and there, it got real tedious to trek across and real boring to look at quickly.
That and the fact that almost all the cut scenes in the game were shown in the trailers (at least 2/3), that the new Metal Gear was spoiled in the last trailer, that Kiefer didn't have as many lines as he should have, [sp]that you aren't really Big Boss wtf[/sp], the strange and jarring difference between the tone in GZ and the tone in TPP (and not just between those two the tone really shifts a lot in TPP itself and that alone is jarring), and finally the whole cut ending and all the other cut content in the game.
They definitely dropped the ball pretty hard on what should have been the swan song for MGS. At least the gameplay was fun
MGS4 was actually the game I liked the most. Perhaps even more than the 3rd one. It has it's flaws yes Story-wise and gameplay-wise but is really fun and the bosses up to [sp] Liquid Ocelot [/sp] are great. It also helps that it has the same control scheme of MGS3 which imo is better than the control scheme of any other MGS game.
I never really liked PW all that much because of how you mostly fight machines and that gets stale after a certain point. But I will admit that the game is good despite all of that.
Loved the gameplay of MGSV (except like pretty much all open world games it becomes a whole lot of grind and repetition to that 100%), but yeah the story is by far the weakest of the franchise. What disappointed me the most I think was that the story just kinda keeps moving forward with no twists or turns. It's just a standard predictable narrative. Mgs stories are built around their wild twists and turns at every corner but the MGSV story was boring and predictable. And the true ending I think really lacked punch and didn't have enough behind it to back up its symbolic meaning- instead it just really annoyed me.
Never expected it to be the best in the franchise when I played it tho cos mgs3 is the best game I've played. Imo that has the best gameplay and story of any game I've played.
If you do YouTube videos as a 'job' then you're a joke. If you do YouTube videos, again, as a 'job' and find yourself in a financial situation you have noone but yourself to blame.
Good thing this is unpopular opinions.

If you make livable money off of something that wouldn't usually be considered profitable, you are smarter than me. I appreciate that. As long as you make cash at what you do, it's a job.
Youtubers who make a living are either extremely lucky, extremely good creators, or extremely good personalities. Regardless, I'm not gonna say it's not a "job" when some people put their entire livelihoods or even education into it for such a high-risk high-reward job and come out successful.
But I can agree that, yes, people who don't have a backup plan have no one but themselves to blame.

I can understand people making a living off of professional, high quality videos but I mean people that do commentaries, game reviews, etc.

A job is just something you do or provide that people pay for. By that definition, why not call it a job?
No matter the amount of effort, or the quality of the product, if people will pay for it and it's your primary income, then it's a job.
I can understand people making a living off of professional, high quality videos but I mean people that do commentaries, game reviews, etc.
Nothing wrong with that. It's fundamentally no different from any other job. They offer a service, entertainment, that can be genuinely helpful to other people, in return for advertising revenue. How is that not a job?
