Lip piercings DO grind against the teeth. I know plenty of people that have them, and in the long-term, they can cause damage. It also depends on what material is facing your teeth. Personally, I think lip rings look absolutely retarded. Studs are alright, if your face suits 'em. Tongue ftw.
