Draw a square with sunglasses.
why do dumb ratings bother me so much
Because you know it means that you pissed off whoever sent the rating, even if it is just a box.
That's how I feel about it anyway. But then I care about what people think of me more than most, so make of that what you will.
but snake like his boxes
So does Lord :v:
Shoot, I think I laughed too much today. Now I'm tired from doing so.
Man fuck this, I'm gonna go get a milkshake and a pizza.
[editline]fdgh[/editline]
And that pizza's gonna have pineapple on it. Anyone who disagrees can meet me behind the playground right this fucking second.

That was me like 2 years ago, and I still have a lot to learn. If you want it enough, practice for it

This is from probably early 2014, with virtually no idea how form, colour theory or how anything worked. The pseudo rendering/blending is also terrible.

This is something newer, I'm focusing more on the relationship between color, light and form etc. without actually rendering or blending anything, a good exercise. I am still not nearly as good as I want to be, but that's all part of the process.
If you have enough free time, you should focus on improving your art (if that's what you really want to do). I am not a good example time-wise since for someone serious enough it would take a matter of months rather than years.
I watched my friend go from drawing chibi wolves and naruto to being legitimately good
Anyone can draw they just need discipline, something I don't have

I don't have it either, I've been blessed with free time and boredom.
I have way too much free time to be wasting it like I do
Like the day my actual adult life begins I'm not going to have all this time
I'm at the point where I'm not really good at anything because I started a bunch of stuff and got lazy
I am alive and saw bats.
Gave a succ here and there overall it was very fun.
Went out to a social gathering with classmates and mentor. Had a good laugh when we saw best korea was in the olympics.

I've seen a 4chan copypasta trying to be discouraging to artists by saying that brushes don't make good art, but I don't believe that nonsense. Loading brushes into Manga Studio is a main reason why I haven't resumed drawing yet.

i really do appreciate the encouraging words but i have tried probably 50 or 60 times to get into drawing and every single time I just get utterly crushed by the insurmountable mountain of shit I need to learn to even get close to where I want to start
it's gotten to the point where whenever I get the urge I get depressed faster than I get excited, because I know it's not going to go anywhere, just like every other time I try.

I saw a video by some guy who is in the tech business, he talked about how the only reason why he is as good as he is now is because he didn't give up even when he failed. Failing is literally the same as being successful because the end result is that you've learned something, which is very useful.
You need to be able to not care about failing, not only that, but recognize that it is a normal process. And when I first got my job I didn't feel that it was worth all the effort until I got my first pay check.
Time flies, it may seem like a long time, but the further you put it off, the longer it will take to get to where you want to be.
