Have you ever considered there's a reason why people get fed up with you guys? Maybe you should stop acting so smug and think about why people are annoyed. You're obviously just trying to provoke people into flaming you guys so you can act uncaring and arrogant.
i think you take this forum a little too seriously
How seriously do you take it?
I actually like (read: can tolerate) Shadaez, though.
At least he (she?) gets down and argues a point. the rest of SS just kind of makes offhanded little sarcastic comments at anyone who isn't in perfect alignment with them.
How seriously do you think I take it?
Why?
Kinda ironic though that you call us circlejerkerkers, considering the fact you guys set up a steam group dedicated to being passive aggressive to people who aren't fond of you guys. It's pretty damn dedicated too, considering last time I checked it 5 users (including ownderd) were all in the group chat.
I took an online test that said I favored the "green" party
I still think they're cunts though (coal bans etc). I'd like to think myself moderate or whatever.
We've got hippies in favor of legalizing shit like meth, social justice warriors getting offended over the littlest stuff, and people ripping on religion every chance they get.
Where are these people
I just want to say hi I swear
The problem with most "fanbases" for lack of a better term is that the most vocal ones are the most extreme ones.
The reason why FP seems so liberal is because the crazy-ass liberals will preach nonstop about it, kinda like bronies (hard to compare but you get my point)
A few people will embarrass the rest of us.
MLP Thread: Always a shitstorm
Why click on a thread made by someone on your ignore list?
Yup, you and Ownedred sure can talk about circle jerks without sounding like hypocrites. It doesn't seem silly at all.
What's funny is everyone talks like Hezzy was Jesus, when hezzy actually unbanned this guy from a permaban. Oh well, everything can't be as it should.
Prepare the boxes! But I got a question, since I'm new and all, wtf is sanius squad? All I got out of it is a banned guy named Dori. If someone would be kind enough to briefly explain that would be great
Imagine a liberal Westboro Baptist Church that isn't rooted in religion, but is instead rooted in hyperliberalism.
People thinking Facepunch is either too liberal or too conservative are probably suffering from the inability to see objective political moderation.
Moderates are traditionally, on the political scale, more conservative than the labor/socialist parties, but more liberal than conservative/republican parties. Example of moderate parties like this include Democrats and the (now extinct) Radical parties in France and Latin America.
People who think that Facepunch is too liberal have a misplaced sense of what is Moderate, and probably attribute Democrats as Liberals. People who think Facepunch is too conservative probably have something closer to Modern Socialism as their idea of Moderateness.
The first thing one should do when discussing political ideology is to get acquainted with the basic spectrum of political ideologies on an objective left-right scale. Though, depending on the researcher, the specifics can be different, the basic idea is this: Anarchism, Communism, Modern Socialist/Labour, Radical/Centrist, Conservative, Libertarian, Fascist.
Using this scale, and being present during many political debates on Facepunch, I believe that Facepunch is actually pretty even, with a large amount of Centrists (meaning, aligned with Democrats), with strong minorities of Socialists and Libertarians.

That I'm guessing ownederd is in gotcha. Gonna snip now before I gain enemies or allies.

i argue points all of the time, just today i argued with someone who said india's womens problems were exaggerated by western media bias on fp; then he called me racist and i got annoyed
but if you can take the sarcasm for what it is, posts by bored drunk hipsters, then you might see that we arent that bad and fun to e-hangout with
but i think its dumb that i have to defend myself and "SS", or else people from fast threads send me death threats, reveal private information about us, or harass us on steam
Let's just say there's a reason I bought ownederd a title.
on fp there's opinions

nah we just post anime, dick pictures, and talk about how music sucks nowadays
If you want a perfect example of a liberal circlejerk full of people who have little to no clue what they're talking about, go to sensationalist headlines.
The Sanius Squad - the most elite reconnaissance unit in the PC Brigade.

yeah well you're doing exactly that
I get this occasionally.
What belief am I shoving down your throat, I was just telling you about a joke the pastor told at church today.
Crud, I think I might be on his ignore list too.
Hmm I'll probably have to create a thread that he wants to flame bait to get his attention.
But seriously, it would be nice to actually discuss the thread topic (get honest input from one another, agree to be more civil when it comes to political discussions) but this thread is probably not going to end up anywhere near there now.

I disagree. I might not be a perfect centrist, but I'm not too far to one side to really care. I definitely see that the social liberals outnumber the social conservatives, but the social extremists are fairly even in number.
Fiscal liberals seem to outnumber fiscal conservatives too, with the fiscal left extreme severely outnumbering the fiscal right extreme.
I do, however, feel like there's quite a bit of polarization here, and quite a bit of lack of understanding. There is much ignorance and entrenchment here.
Of course, I mostly hang out in Sensationalist Headlines.
Also, I think it's worth noting that I believe in and worship the god that spoke to Abraham. I don't really identify with Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or otherwise, but I'm somewhere in-between. I'd say I'm closest to a Protestant, though. I get the feeling that the atheist, agnostic, and reason crowd vastly outnumbers the religious crowd. Needless to say, I feel uncomfortable sharing the fact that I'm rather quite religious here.
I try not to let this affect my political views, though. When religious institutions pay taxes, then they have purchased the right to have a say in government. Otherwise, they should be excluded from the legislative process.
I'm not a fan of conservatism at all, and i dont care much if there's a lack of it on FP, but the way people react to people who are republican/conservative/religious/etc is over the top and stifles legitimate discussion, turning FP into a sort of anti-deviantart
Eh, yeah, I'd agree, though i'm more right-oriented. So there's that bias there.
But my liberal friends agree that for politics, FP is a shithole.
One example I'd say could be the economic slavery thread, I'm in favor of helping out those who need it. But he just seemed to have wanted a living given to him without any work.
And just like that article of the rape in india where everyone thought "oh god india is such a horrible place", when we get something with some republican doing something stupid, people assume all are like that.
Though the right spectrum does the same thing.

Yeah, I find it kinda weird how a lot of liberals (Generally really accepting) here, are so against certain viewpoints. You think they would be more willing to hear them out if anything.
