Damn, I've been there. Old coworker of mine invited me to a party she was having - I knew nobody there and she pretty much hung with her Catholic friends. I'm a Christian but I'm not a heavy follower.
Ask her on a date IN PERSON, and make sure you use "date" and not "chill/hang out". Nothing to lose.
