It's not out yet, but you may want to keep an eye on Salt and Sanctuary. It's a 2D Soulslike that seems pretty good.
Or perhaps Titan Souls? That's out and it's a similar style of boss-rush/die-a-lot kind of game.

I enjoyed Fallout 4 a lot, so somewhat simplified RPG's are always fun. don't enjoy RPG's that are really complicated and have lots of stats and choices and aaah overwhelming. I also enjoy the pace of Call of Duty, quick fun which doesn't require a lot of commitment. pretty big fan of singleplayer adventures too, like Dark Souls. I enjoy games that are easy to get into and doesn't require a lot of commitment, or games that are easy to get into but takes commitment, depends on the mood. sometimes it's fun to get into complicated games too, but I'm not sure if that's what I want right now.

Why not go the old school route and play Anvil of Dawn? it's a simplified RPG, single character and grid based twitch combat like legend of grimrock before grimrock ever did it, and is AWESOME.

Titan Souls has me a little skeptical, only a single positive review among the "most helpful" ones even though 81% are positive, hm. not a big fan of the style either, I've gotten pretty tired of games with pixel graphics.

I have a tendency to not enjoy very old games unless I have some childhood memories attached to it, and this game is new to me. they don't age very well, but I might check it out
