Vinyls sound WAY better. Sure, digital is nice, but nothing beats a record.
this is only true if you've spent a lot of money on your setup
I also like being able to play the record physically
It's nice to take out a record, hit play and sit back but that's just a dumb mental thing I guess
I'd just collect vinyls as long as they're vintage ones. Like the kind they sell at thrift stores and flea markets.

And if you have a good pressing.
I have a shitty pressing of Selected Ambient Works 85-92 and side A has terrible audio
I wanna buy the Minecraft OST on vinyl since it was pressed recently, even if I don't really like the game these days I still enjoy the OST a lot
step 1 to collecting records
- pls own a nice turntable so u can play them it bugs me seein people buy nice shit that they never even play
protip whats a music
my main thing is to only buy ones i really like
i'm not in it just to have a bunch of shit
i look at it as a curated collection of my personal faves
plus you buy a lot of junk and suddenly you've got a hole in your floor
shit's heavy and takes up space fast
My hope is that when I die my family goes through my things, finds my records and go "what the fuck" at the album covers
i think vinyl is cool but i dont have any vinyl
anyone who is interested in getting started get @ me either here right now or in the vinyl thread
I'd probably get vinyls just for decor
I'd probably get vinyls just for decor
if u do this please buy cheap ones nobody wants
I usually only buy limited edition stuff relating to games.
Really need to stop doing that.

banging a stick against a place rhythmicly
if u do this please buy cheap ones nobody wants
Good turntable at reasonable cost?
if u do this please buy cheap ones nobody wants
But what if I want the ones of my favorite bands/albums and maybe some day have equipment to play them on
But what if I want the ones of my favorite bands/albums and maybe some day have equipment to play them on
if u plan on getting a turntable it's all a-ok
it'd just be a shame for them to go to a home where they'll never be properly enjoyed
banging a stick against a place rhythmicly
sounds hot
Good turntable at reasonable cost?
check craigslist in your area, any good vintage brands (technics, etc.) at a decent price? go for it
if you're wary of going used then the AT LP120 is ur savior
that's what i use
there's also the u-turn orbit but i don't have any experience with it so idk
[editline]15th January 2016[/editline]
one day when i can finally afford a debut carbon i will be able to truly ascend
if u plan on getting a turntable it's all a-ok

Hey it might be a poor home but it's a really goddamn loving one
If I ever got like e.g. a Metallica vinyl I'd love it like my own son, even if I wasn't able to play it

nah it's totally cool to get something you really want in the meantime since it's expensive to get started
i just kno that there's lots of stuff i've really wanted and missed out on and the thought of it going to someone who just keeps it on a shelf 24/7 and never plans on owning a turntable makes me sad
Eventually the thread title is gonna be 'wayt v. increase eggplant salaries'
eggplant for president imo
you can't collect digital
but you certainly can collect original pressings, limited editions, and special editions of vinyls
I can't even begin to describe how wrong that that statement is.
I can't even begin to describe how wrong that that statement is.
just owning a lot of things isn't really a collection
someone please fucking kill me
