I am going to go through the US Army's WOFT program out of high school. It stands for Warrant Officer Flight Training. I would be flying rotary-wing aircraft, which has always been my dream. If I work hard enough in flight school and get in the top 2% of my class, I would get to choose which airframe I would be specializing in. If I get the honor, I would choose the AH-64D Apache Longbow. This seems to be the best way to attain my dream. And yes, I am a Liberal.

Quite possibly I am. I'm very physically prepared. I am rather on the thin side but make up for it by being a leader and having everyone look up to me when they have a problem. I'm very tolerant of my superiors. If one of them yells at me for the right reasons, I stand there and let them spit all over me. If I were to die, I would die knowing that I did it for the right cause. If I were to join the army, I were to be a captain of some sort. I would lead a squad and take the first bullet so that my squad would live.

Already did, been in for two years! Planning on being a Police Officer when I get out.

I did four years AFJROTC, and have now been enlisted in the USAF for a year and a half. I dislike guns. I dislike violence. However, the benefits are undeniable. I got paid to be trained in air traffic control (a job which makes bank in the civilian sector), get college credits for it, and get plenty of money for college. I don't expect I'll ever really engage in combat, being in a specialized career field with a tremendous dropout rate (of the 14 trainees in the past two years at my base, only 3 made it through). That's not to say that I won't be deployed, but I highly doubt they'd throw me on a convoy. Military service isn't for everyone. Just remember that there are numerous jobs available, and that you don't have to be this disciplined robot that many people believe military members are. I don't know how it is for other nations, but after your training in the US, it's practically a 9-5 job. Best of luck to everyone that joins. For the anti-war folks... Best of luck to you, as well. I don't even know where I was going with anything.

I wouldn't think about joining the military unless a war came to the US. I would have issues with superior officers trying to command me to do something I don't believe is right as well which would cause me even more problems if I joined the military.

Its not about fighting for your country. its about those fat as strategy thinkers who dont want to fight themselves. Also war is useless.

If I'd join the army I'd basically be some kind of mercenary since I'd fight for another country (America) in shitty middle-eastern countries. So no.
