I am, we have conscription here in Norway and I would sign up either way. I'm joining in January and will be gone for 12 months!
Looking forward to it.

fuck yes i am,
16 years old and joining the canadian reserves this week
There are better jobs out there. If military career is what you are interested in life then go ahead. It's your choice. Nobody will stop you.

Conscription however is not a choice
Why? Working my ass off in school and then go into war and might die?
I was looking forward to shooting the AG3 but they decided to switch to the fucking H&K 416. :downs:
The Home Guard still has it.
I don't think the retard who wrote the OP understand that if everyone joins the army, who is going to do all the other fucking jobs.
No way, being Canadian means being a pacifist.
i love this thread because it insults gays and those who dont join the army at the same time!
Joining the air force was once a dream of mine.
Sigh, not anymore because they don't let people with metal hips join.
You're a fag if you don't join the Military?
threads like these are why gays suicide.
The only reason I would join the military as a last resort for a job.
Do they still have Don't Ask, Don't tell?
No, I'm a fag because I don't want to end the life of another human being.
Love how OP thinks that his time in the army (That's if he even gets in) will be action packed and make everyone look at him and think "That dude is badass"
lolno
Do they still have Don't Ask, Don't tell?
I think that's more or less being phased out now.
First off, thanks for being biased on the poll, really love it.
And second.

I'm considering joining ROTC in college while I'm working on my pre-law studies (political science major, with a potential military science minor). Of course, that'd set me up to be an officer when I'm in active duty, which I wouldn't mind.
I'm not joining the Army because of Call of Duty, or because I like the idea of killing people. I'm not joining the military because I support their cause in Afghanistan, either. I'm joining the Army to support my country, and to perpetuate the freedom I was given as a kid. I think that it's a privilege growing up in a society where we're given so much, such as education, wealth, liberty, etc. I'm supporting my country under that ideal.
If anyone wants to criticize me for my choices, I'd welcome you to do so. I'm just not sure how well an argument against the protection of the personal freedoms you grew up on will go. This is why I have utmost respect for those who've served in the military. They're the ones protecting our country so that we can live comfortable lives, and a lot of people give them shit for it. It's disappointing, really.
Fuck no. I would never support this bullshit conflict in the middle east. I say let them kill each other, then take it over. I've been old enough to join the service for 5 years, and I would never consider doing so. If there was a draft, I'd move to Canada.
What a puss-o. You should have your citizenship stripped.
What a puss-o. You should have your citizenship stripped.
i know right? fuck the ragheads.
I wonder how many people voted "Yes" because they didn't want a poll to call them a fag.
Hell yeah, i've always been a fan of guns and targets.
I remember the day i first grabbed a .22 rifle and looked down the scope.
It was amazing to feel the kick, hear the bang and see the round hit bullseye so far away.
Although there is a bit of a difference between a .308 and a .22, i still intend on doing it. Sure, voluntary, sure, dangerous, but entertaining? High-caliber rifles, gunpowder and serious business with bros in tanks. Why the fuck not, says i?
Got a trusty source on this, beloved bro.
I dont think shooting a target is the same to shooting a human being.
When you join th military you know the fact that if shit hits the fan like the Russians attack or something like your probably going to see some combat. The fact is that you have a better chance of getting hit by a drunk driver than you do by a bullet. Just because you join the service doesn't mean you will die, you're a fool if you think that. Any job that requires you to hold a rifle/entrenching tool means you will see combat. Its kill of be killed. My job requires me to sit in a booth 3000 miles away and launch a missile, i am not going to die.
If the Russians couldnt win in Afghanistan, neither can we or the Americans, so i'm not risking my life for some bullshit war because America and Britain decide that a religion protecting it's country is worth the lives of thousands of men.

Unless the hypothetical enemy decides its sick of you intelligence folks and bombs you to bits?

You are ridiculously ill informed.

In Norway it's a choice, if people don't want to go they say they are mentally ill. So 35% of our population are mentally ill. Those are the people that are looked upon as fags.
