I always recommend Terry Pratchett, but I recommend even more:

...which is the amazing creation of two brilliant authors.
Read it.
NOW!
Living in Europe, I read lots of stuff not yet mentioned here. Like, Russian realist writers from the 19th century are cool. A long, but really good book I'd recommend would be Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky.

Favourite books would have to be in no particular order:
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist

Haven't been reading much lately but I plan to pick up the Song of Fire and Ice series soon.
I really, really enjoyed Fight Club, and started reading some of Chuck's short stories. They're disturbing, but I can't stop myself from reading them.

Favorite books:
American Gods - Neil Gaiman
Kitchen God's Wife - Amy Tan
Catch-22 - Joseph Heller
The Lathe of Heaven - Ursula LeGuin
The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
Right now I'm reading a lot of self-published books because authors (including myself) will usually give them out for free in return for an amazon review. I am also really excited for Mockingjay to be released in August.

As you can see, I'm no stranger to science fiction, either. :colbert:
In fact, I quite prefer science fiction novels. It's just that fantasy novels are a bit easier to find of good quality - at least in my local bookstore. The only science fiction my bookstore has tends to be Star Wars and Star Trek. :colbert:

I like Fantasy and apocalypse.
gonna read that long walk book, sounds good.
Anything by Terry Pratchett is worth a read in my opinion. Oh, and Twilight. Literacy masterpiece that appeals to everyone, not just naive young women who desire love and romance in their lives filled with the mundane daily grind of reality.
Anyone that cant guess I'm being sarcastic about Twilight needs to be shot, twice.
Asimov's Foundation, and Asimov's Nine Tomorrows were excellent.
The Pendragon series.
I'm reading 'The Name of the Wind' at the moment. Best book I've read so far.
Odd Thomas was a fantastic book.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine
Daemon
Worst Case
audiobook because i'm that lazy
I like Fantasy.
Mostly about necromancy, but all types go.
Best book? Anything by Ricard A. Knaak

I loved the Series of Unfortunate Events books when I was 12
The Door Within Trilogy
Peak
North

Douglas Adams - The Complete Hitchhikers Guide.
Vin Suprynowicv - The Black Arrow.
Robert A. Heinlein - The Moon is a Harsh mistress.
Michael Chrichton - Sphere, Timeline, State of Fear. I sadly have yet to read Jurassic Park.
Richard K. Morgan - Altered Carbon, Broken Angels, Woken Furies.
Neal Stephenson - Anathem.
All I can think of at the moment.
