Looking like a hippie isn't a bad thing though unless you look like a dirty hippie. I don't look like a dirty hippie, I just have long hippie hair. It's healthy, straightened, I have no split ends, and I can easily put it up in a bun to get it out of the way and still have it look good.
The only reason I'm thinking of getting it cut is because I have to take like, hour long showers :v:

I have tried to cut my own....to decent success surprisingly. The trick is to cut into the hair, trim sidebeards and use 3 mirrors to do the back of your head.

That works just as good. I wouldn't recommend manual cutting as I did fuck up the last time I tried then had to shave it lol.
I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons. Shorter hair requires less maintenance, shorter showers, less shampoo usage, less getting it stuck in doors and finding it in food or my mouth.
Longer hair looks much nicer on me, feels more comfortable, doesn't require as much upkeep (meaning I don't need to go get it cut because I'm just letting it grow) but still requires a lot of maintenance to keep it tame though that doesn't really bother me that much, and I'm able to put it up in different styles so it's more versatile :v:
It's a pretty serious decision because I can't just grow it back in a few days or weeks like a beard if I regret getting it cut. It takes years to get it this long.
I accidently burned some of my long hair on a candle once when I was drunk.
So there's a potential con for you.
