I usually recommend the 3DS over the vita despite how much i love mine, but it really depends on the games you want. The 3DS has generally more first party games, and if you like nintendo stuff at all that's the system you want. The vita actually has more games than people give it credit for, but most of the ones worth playing are japanese in origin. It all really depends on what interests you though. If you find more games that interest you on the vita than the 3DS then it's more worth it to get it instead of a 3DS.

Getting Steins;Gate for my vita was probably the best decision I've made in awhile, I somehow forgot just how much i enjoyed it before. It's even better now that i'm playing a version with a proper translation and all
this game was basically the reason I got into japanese stuff at all to be honest, cuz for a long time I hated all of it and thought it was weirdo stuff cuz of that general stereotype of anime fans. This game has one of my favorite stories ever though and it holds a lot of sentimental value to me

At least you just have dreams if you watch the shows, I just randomly get bizarro tier dreams out of nowhere to either shock me awake as soon as they end or spook me the fuck out when I remember what I had after I wake up. That one resident evil zombie apocalypse dream I had was enough to spare on the spook level.
