I hadn't heard of either before i started using the internet, which is when I was around 14. Those games were hardly relevant when I heard about them, and I took no interest in them.
Both equally, though I've been leaning a lot more to the wolfenstein modding scene recently.
Wolf 3D. Used to play it whenever I was at my grandma's place, then my dad got it and he played it a lot at home, fuckin' obsessing and drawing maps and shit for it :v:

There are a lot of very good Wolf3D mods out there, I recommend Spear Resurrection and End of Destiny in particular. Eisenfaust Origins, Spear of Destiny Reloaded, and Castle Totenkopf SDL are also pretty nice.
There's also some nice mods in development; I'm awaiting the full release of Trail of Schabbs SDL in fact.
I never played Doom of Wolfenstein 3D, but I played a shit-ton of Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.
Between Doom and Wolfenstein 3D it would definitely be Doom. Wolfenstein had like zero atmosphere but then again what do you expect from one of the earliest FPS games. Between Doom 3 and RCTW I'd say Doom 3 as well.
I used to make my own Wolf3D maps and sprites with FloEdit when I was 10!
i played the shit out of doom 2 mostly. when i was a kid i didn't even realize wolfenstein existed until a friend showed it to me at his house. I thought it was cool that you have a knife in that game, since doom didn't have that.

With a chainsaw, who needs a knife? :v:
Doom. I loved playing all the .wads and clones trying to get something out of its success.
Playing too much of wolf3d drives me insane, but doom is a all day thing.
Wolfenstein edges Doom out slightly due to the sheer amount of time on RTCW when I was younger. Wish I hadn't lost the disc about now. Keep forgetting to see how much it costs these days or if it works on Win 7 or 8.
I had Wolf 3D on the GBA as a kid. Played it literally everywhere I went. That being said when I found about shareware doom I spend literally days on end replaying it with amazing "3d mods"
The funny thing is, I had doom 1 on the gba
doom 2 was the first one I really actually enjoyed though
If you count "later" Wolfensteins, played a lot of ET, but if no, Doom.

So? I played the fuck out of Doom and I was born in 1994
Definitely DOOM. I like later Wolfs but if we're going based on pure playtime, it's still DOOM.
I played Quake 1 and Doom more than I ever played Wolf3d.
I did play through the first episode of wolf when i got it for free on a PCGamer Demo disk though. I stopped at the second episode though because I was a kid and the mutants that raised their arms and fired guns in their chest scared me.

never played quake before, is it like doom, or more 3d looking
Wolfenstein. Doom scared the shit out of me and I was terrible at it.

Its Doom in full 3d with 3d level design, more vertical gameplay, and lovecraftian-horror themes

oh, thanks, isn't it really fast-paced?
yeah that too, just the art-style and themes of the levels and monsters are lovecraftian i mean

I grew up playing Call of Duty 2 and Halo but my dad introduced me to Doom and it was kickass.

Eisenfaust Origins is excellent(Has reloading). But the way the maps are designed it makes no sense because it is literally a maze in a bigger maze.
Kind of grew up with Doom and Duke3d. My dad let me sit on his lap to open doors for him when I was 5 or so. Sneaked on his computer when he wasn't there and played it myself, with cheats of course.
Tried a bit of competitive once, though I was mediocre at best.
I played a shitload of WADs. Still have the best memories with Skulltag's Invasion mode. Ultimate Torment & Torture, Armageddon Invasion, Invasion Unleashed, so many more amazing wads that all faded out of existance because it got replaced by gimmick shit wads.
What's even worse is the architecture in a lot of wads went downhill since 2007. It's sad to see Realm667 gone...
It's sad to see Realm667 gone...
What do you mean it's gone? Seems to still be there for me.
Huh, I heard from someone it's gone. Never mind lol
Been playing Doom 2 since I was an infant.
It was my first video game ever
i did play a lot more duke3d than doom or wolfenstein. but i played more doom than wolfenstein.
Wolfenstein 3D looks better..
