A very unhealthy relationship and denying it wasn't going to work. I just wanted my son to have his real parents unlike I did, turns out that's not going to happen for the best. The way I look at it is things happen for a reason sometimes and this was something that had to happen before something worst happened. Just have to keep moving forward and forget about the past.
No, no, and no. It's 100% percent her fault, theres no reason for her to lied and have fucking locked up for months, almost sent to prison for years due to a "unhealthy relationship" or a "it's wasn't working out thing" instead of just leaving the relationship like a normal person. Go get your son back, your ex is batshit crazy and would properly turn your son against you. It's ALOT more common then you think.
I kind of want to go to jail now
I had the same thought. Anyway. Did some people tried to kill you in jail? P.S| Your steam link is broken.
I witnessed Correctional Officers beat handcuffed inmates and trash talk inmates many times. The system is very corrupt and filing any type of grievance or complaint wont do any good because they all get paid by the same person and its a very small county that I live in. I live in Humboldt County and the justice system around here is a group effort and they all look out for eachother. Most of the gaurds were short, scrawny, fat, stalky and had really small voices and felt they had to prove themselves by being disrespectful and taking advantage of their power.
Were there any exceptions?
Was it a trial by judge or jury? It seems a little preposterous that you were convicted solely on testimony.
If it's a felony I think there has to be a jury.
I had to stay in a mental institution for two weeks and it wasn't fun having to cope with a kleptomaniac/mythomaniac neighbor, a crazy trepanated woman who could only shout and was obsessed with using the emergency phone to call her dad, and a guy with fits of rage who was about as stable as a table with three legs. There were a bunch of nice people though. I assume three months in jail is a much worse experience though.
Curry sounds like he would make an awesome vigilante.
Has being in prison somewhat limited your career choices? I'm sorry you had to go through all of this and agreed: Curry sounds like an amazing person.
I had to stay in a mental institution for two weeks
Why?
I was accused for holding a knife up to my ex girlfriends throat, did I do it? No. I had 6 different felony charges for what she told the police.
Well she's a bitch.
Got any interesting stories you heard from other inmates?
Not really anything interesting besides if their was any natural disaster to occur the military is ordered in to kill all inmates on sight whether escaping or not. That was just something I heard from many of the inmates but then again many of the inmates were either dope fiends or just anti-government. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
Your ex sounds like an indecent excuse for a human being and you must have a heart of gold. Are the beds cozy?
Everything in jail is made by Bob Barker. Everything. The beds are about an inch thick and have a thin layer of cotton inside. You also don't get any pillows unless you make one out of your sweater and your sheets. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
The first thing I think of when I think of people being sentenced for felonies is that it is almost impossible for them to find a job once they're convicted. Since you were locked up, if you had a job before, I highly doubt you have one now. When you're on probation, how do you think your job search is going to be? [editline]Edited:[/editline] You said you had a job waiting for you upon release. You're a very lucky man, although what do you think will happen when you try to look for another job, if you ever do so?
Their's one upside to felony probation which is once its over with the felony gets dropped down to a misdemeanor. I can easily get a job since my resume is pretty solid I've had back to back work since I was 16 years old. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
My main question is, What will you do now?
Do the best I can to move on and just live my life the way I was supposed to. What happened is now over and done with and all it is to me is a learning experience now. I've learned a lot and that's just to never commit to anyone but yourself because it's you that really matters in the long run.
This is genuinely one of the most interesting threads I've read in a while.
What was the worst part of the prison? Oh, and if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?
The tension, not being able to see the sun and the people coming down off hard drugs which everyone called J-Cats. I had at least 30 people ask me "Hey bro do we have a problem?" When someone asks you that it means their 'Catting out' basically their coming down off some type of drug or their just schizophrenik. I just turned 20 years old. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
I had the same thought. Anyway. Did some people tried to kill you in jail? P.S| Your steam link is broken.
Nobody tries to really kill anyone in jail. I've heard of the skinheads wrapping their diseases infested blood with toilet paper around their sharpened pencils and gang shanking people while they're taking a shit but never witnessed it. They gave us anti shank toothbrushes that were about an inch long but they gave us pencils with a pencil sharpener which makes no sense at all. I'll look into fixing my steam link in a bit I'm a little busy just getting out of jail yesterday. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
Were there any exceptions?
Exceptions for what? [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
If it's a felony I think there has to be a jury.
Not exactly I think it varies between cases like murder, attempted murder, etc. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
Has being in prison somewhat limited your career choices? I'm sorry you had to go through all of this and agreed: Curry sounds like an amazing person.
Felony probation only means you have a felony hanging over your head. So as long as I don't fuck up in any way until probation ends that felony wont slam down on me. I'll have a misdemeanor on my record once I get sentenced on monday. If I screw up though I get sentenced to prison for maximum 10 years.
Where did the "Terrorist Threats" come from?
Where did the "Terrorist Threats" come from?
She stated in her recording that I said "I'm going to kill you stupid bitch!"
Probably a stupid question but do a lot of drugs get moved around from jail to jail?
She stated in her recording that I said "I'm going to kill you stupid bitch!"
I see, threat sure but doesn't sound like terrorism. Do they have a really open definition for terrorism or something just so they can exploit it?
Probably a stupid question but do a lot of drugs get moved around from jail to jail?
People didn't just have everything from marijuana to meth they also had cellphones with the chargers. People would wrap things up in a condom if they knew they were going to jail and hide it in their ass. People were getting caught with contraband every other day. If you tried to keep a fruit from breakfast and hide it in your bed somewhere they would take it and right you up for contraband which is possible maximum security time for 20 days, that's not fun. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline]
I see, threat sure but doesn't sound like terrorism. Do they have a really open definition for terrorism or something just so they can exploit it?
They try and charge people with everything they possibly can so they can extort money out of you and your family. The county jail works with bail bondsmen and they try to convince people that bailing out is the only way you'll beat trial. That's even what my attorney told me that bailing out would of possibly helped my case but it would of costed me $2,000 off top then payments of at least $400 a month until I paid off $20,000 even if found innocent. The way bailing out works is it costs you 10% of what your bail is to get out of jail that day. Then you have to make payments until that 10% is all the way paid off guilty or not. If you are found guilty then you just wasted you and possibly your families money because your just going back to jail or prison, it's a really screwed up system.
Amazing read, nice that you survived. Your bro seems like a bro too. And your ex is a cunt, I know it's pretty much impossible and the chance is gone now, but I would try to sue her or something. Being a bitch is one thing, but getting someone locked up for nothing is just down right fucking evil.
Why?
My mom being suicidal and me showing a few hints of depression a while ago, she decided not to risk anything and just sent me to a psychiatrist who said I should stay in a mental institute for a week (which turned out to be two). The result was failed exams, an actual depression and boredom beyond belief. I was actually okay with getting in for no more than a few days but as I was forced to stay shit started to get a bit on my nerves. Worst part was when I was forced to take an anxiogenic treatment because my mother mentioned I wasn't very sociable once, and the doc immediately translated that into social anxiety (which is bullshit). Said treatment got extremely tired and I missed most of my morning classes for the following two months, until I eventually failed an exam by sleeping it over and I decided to toss the whole treatment out of the window. I haven't seen the psychiatrist a single time since then and I've never felt better. I should probably open up a thread rather than pollute this one if I have to talk about this
I mean, were any of the guards nice at all, or were they all bad.
I mean, were any of the guards nice at all, or were they all bad.
There weren't any nice gaurds in my dorm besides maybe one and he was only nice for not constantly cursing at you and belittling you for the smallest of things. There was a gaurd that everyone hated very much and everyone called him Woody because he looked like Woody from Toy Story. He would lock the whole dorm down when someone would cry out "Their's a snake in my boot!"
Having been in jail myself, I've got a question you might enjoy answering. What's the strangest thing you saw during your stint? Edit: It's interesting you say there were no nice gaurds, and perhaps a difference in hiring practices between states. The county jail where I live hires, nearly exclusively, gaurds who treat inmates properly. The worst treatment I ever saw was a guy getting processed/stripsearched who was lipping off/aggressively resisting the entire time and the gaurd tossed out a lighthearted "Don't be so aggressive, noone here is judging you for having a tiny dick"
I had to go for 5 days and I went to 2 different holding places with lots of bunk beds and played cards all day with some old guys and made fun of everyone. I stole a pack of cards and a book from someone when I first switch cells. I think I played more cards than I ever want to.
I like you already.
Shame no one will ever say that to you.

They were on 'queer juice' that's what people were calling meth that is.
Were there any other cowboy nicknames?
Their were a few different nicknames for instance my nickname was Kasper. Nobody was referred to by their real name that was just how things went when you were their for a while. Curry is working on a portrait right now that's Casper with a hankerchief over his face wielding a butcher knife and my booking number on his arm.
How was the food? Variety? Best/worst meals?
How was the food? Variety? Best/worst meals?
Every morning they gave us a muffin, cereal and a fruit. The muffins were different everyday and I can't complain they were alright. The cereal went from cheerios, cocoa pebbles, captain crunch and maple morsels. They weren't the name brand cereals they wer some jail brand called Cereal2Go that had a badge on them. For lunch everyday you were given a different type of sandwich, a fruit and a soup that also changed everyday. The soups almost always had soap in them and were just watered down beans and some thrown in vegetables. The sandwiches were usually fake turkey and fake chicken sometimes rarely pb & j. For dinner you got salad, some kind of smash of fake meats and rice, a small portion of what they called desert and a side of vegetables. The vegetables were almost always the same just steamed broccoli or peas and corn. The main course was almost always rice with fake meats or sometimes spaghetti or a slab of fake turkey with potatoes. The desert was usually bread pudding or jello. The salads varied from green salad to macaroni to carrot salad.
