It's not only soap operas. Most places, like the one I was in, allow you to control the TV. 99% of the time we had it on ESPN.
Yeah as you can tell my counties jail is garbage. They had a fucking black mold infestation that almost killed some prisoners who where being held there. A friend of a friend got a MRSA infection in his foot, the jail doc kept telling him he was fine until they had to amputate his pinky toe, now he's suing them.
Jesus that sounds fucked up. Worst I experienced was a black spider outbreak in the cellblock. Got a few bites on my legs but goddamn losing a pinky toe? That's fucked.
Have you thought about making a book about your 3 months in jail?
I don't think enough happened to write a book. If I was to sit down and remember every single thing that happened in the 3 months it could be a possibility. Sounds like way too much work for how much is already on my shoulders at the moment.

She said I was drunk but I wasn't. They never even tested my breathe or anything they just assumed I was under the influence because she said I was. Now I can't touch alcohol or be anywhere near a bar for the next year. Sucks because I'm turning 21 soon..

We got TV and yes it sucked, mainly soap operas and TV land. The not being able to hear on the phones was one of my problems. You have to have someone put money on your phone account which is $5 a call and you can barely hear them.

@coverop
I'll think about writing a short story or something of the sort when I have time. I'll include close to every detail if I can remember everything.
I'm going to buy you a title as soon as I learn [del]bb[/del] HTML code.

Good enough for me. Sorry if my last post came across as a 'pics or it didn't happen', I just tend to be a little wary of stories like these. That case is just awful all around and I think it's really inspiring to read about how you came through it a better person.

Just find a list of codes to make the title. You don't really need to learn it just for that situation.
but it's much easier to believe a woman in a violence cases, simply because a man is physically much more suited for carrying out violence. My uncle is really one of the nicest and least aggressive people I know, but even then it could've ended a lot worse than it did.
Our society in many ways works to the advantage of women. "Women can't be violent" and men are told to respect women and never hurt them.
Many women exploit this and use this to make false accusations for their own benefit and its incredibly common.

Thank you, I wouldn't say I deserve anything. Many people everyday go through this same situation without even being acknowledged by anyone. Sometimes they even go to prison which is much worst.
Not to have racism but, what was the main race of the people that were in jail. What was the main source of entertainment?
Not to have racism but, what was the main race of the people that were in jail. What was the main source of entertainment?
All the races had designated tables. Their were the Skins which were indians, Skinheads which were racist whites, Other which were people with mixture or mexican, whites which were just the white people who weren't racist and the blacks. Their were more whites then anything. The main source of entertainment for me was playing cards or just talking to curry until 3 a.m. about eachothers lifes on the outside and what our plans were. I gave Curry a bro hug when I left and it was hard even though I knew I was leaving that forsaken place. I'm not going to lie I do miss him dearly now. He was a really good friend and I miss talking to him. I wrote him a letter today and I'm going to send it tomorrow.
Christ I just read this thread. I am such a pussy compared to you, I would probably get the shit kicked out of me and I wouldn't strengthen from it. I would probably break down. Hats off to you man, that shit must have been crazy, I am recluse for a lot of reasons and this kind of real life cut and dry stuff is one of the reasons, because it's fucking scary. God I hope I don't go to jail.
I don't know whether this question is asked or not. Sorry if I'm asking too much.
How will you able you sustain yourself after three months in jail? (Job, housing, etc.)
I really don't want to get to this but are you required to give alimony to your ex on court order?
Are you in college?
Oh my God while what OP went through was horrible and all, you're all really justifying being incredibly judgmental to every woman just because of one internet thread?
It's not completely unjustified. While I would never cease interacting with women, the fact that this is possible will make me tread lightly in the future. Very lightly.
I love women just as much as any other guy but the fact that a woman can get away for this just for being a woman, is sickening, disturbing, and frightening for any man. The amount of damage a woman can cause by abusing the justice system is undeniably stacked in their favor and practically always ends in the man being screwed.
Nobody is saying they hate women. Nobody is saying they don't like women. Nobody is going to 'go gay' over this. But the fear is there. And until something is done men will have to tread carefully in regards to the justice system around women.
Gets my thinking about this song.

I didnt take her bluff and called her pathetic and many other names, she then started slashing the furniture I just bought and was yelling out how cheap and pathetic I was and how I was never a man and never will be for my son or our family. I left the apartment and told her I was going to file for custody for our son because she was lazy and was an unfit mother because shes never worked a day in her life. Later that night police showed up at my mothers house with a K9 Unit and tackled me to the ground. I was taken into custody and they recorded my statement which was the officer questioning me on what had happened. Apparently my ex told the officer I held a knife to her throat and told her I was going to kill her, then i prevented her from using her cell phone and blocked her from the doors. She also stated that I slashed the couches aggressivley and told her I was going to take her life. I was charged with:
Imprisonment
Child Endangerment
Assault with a deadly weapon
Assault to cause harm or serious bodily injury
Terrorist Threats
Domestic Violance
Thats how it all started and thats how I'm where I'm at now. My attorney told me I had no chance with a case like this because if she was to appear at trial and testify I would of been done for because she set me up perfectly and somewhat intelligently.
This is so unbelievably fucked up. I mean what evidence do they have against you? I would think it would take a significant amount of evidence to get convicted, hell did they even bother questioning your son or neighbors about you?
One thing I have learned from this is that if I were to have a fight with my girlfriend/wife to the point where she would wreck shit up I would call the police before she would get the chance to.

I lost my job and was in the middle of finals at College of the Redwoods when I was arrested. There's nothing I can really do about any of that because I plead guilty and it's been too long to contact my teachers or anything like that seeing as finals are well passed over. I honestly don't know how much money I will have to pay and who it will be going to at this point, all I know is my attorney said my fines can range anywhere from $8,000 to $12,000. That's not including the $20-$60 a week for the 52 weeks of domestic violance classes. I'm pretty stressed out knowing that I wont be able to go back to school because I'll have to be working two jobs to pay off all these fines in order to get off probation a year or two early. Not to mention child support.. I won't have any money to myself for the next two years even if I work for it. They pretty much set me up for failure.
Because of.... Lack of evidence? Is that why?
When it comes to Domestic Violance cases their doesn't have to be any evidence. It's all she say not he say. You have to think about it in a jurys point of view. The victim(young woman) gets up on the stand pointing her finger at the man and cries "He hurt me, poor little me why oh why? I dont understand he was just a monster and tried to kill me!" The man doesn't get to speak at all. The man gets cross examined by the D.A. and that's about it. Imagine yourself in a predicimant like mine. They told me that If I took it to trial and lost I would go to prison for 4-10 years. If I took the deal they were offering me which was 3 years felony probation I would be released. What would you have done? Especially with an attorney telling you that your chances of winning were very slim.
I don't know man, well.... I would just take the easy option probably. Must be very hard for you. But at least you had a good freind to look after you, that's all I can say

Damn unbelievable dude. You shouldn't deserve the shit you're going through. I know life can be unfair sometimes, but this has gone too far.
I feel you man. Your story just makes me want to cry.
Wish I can start some fundraising or something so you can pick yourself up again much easier. Two years of paying those debts doesn't look like something one man can do. I mean it honestly.
Can we start a fundraiser thing? I'd be down.

Not a very good idea.
As much as i would like to ruin her day, it would probably get white in more shit.
I knew the american justice system was fucked up but wow.. no evidence, chances of winning very slim, 4-10 years jail time..
"fucked up" is an underestimation.
Innocent until proven guilty hey...
Innocent until proven guilty hey...
You do realize this is the US you're talking about right? Guilty until proven otherwise and even then depending on the charge you'll still be treated as if you're guilty by other people.
It's Innocent till proven guilty, but what I don't understand is: How would there have been no case if you were never the one to hold the knife? Weren't her fingerprints the only ones present? I feel that the answer right there would have been the end of it.
-eh nvm-
