Err... I saw R.E.M. at a concert once... does that count?
Haven't really met any really famous people, just a few comedians at the Edinburgh Festival.
A few live near me, so I see them now and then. Dylan Moran and J.K Rowling mostly. I also saw Daniel Craig boarding a flight to Nice from London 3 or 4 years ago. (Thrilling, eh?)

In Utah, the Jazz are a huge basketball team. My aunt designed one of the players' Twitter page. She also got a text from Miles saying Happy Birthday. Also, I was at IHOP once, and Jerry Sloan (The coach of the Jazz) came in.
Then, my mom worked at Delta airports for a while. A lot of celebs there. She met Gerard Butler and Justin Timberlake there.

I've met a good few "celebs" from doing photo-shoots and stills. Most of them are Irish actors/singers/musicians. I've met a couple of English actors as well. Haven't met any American actors yet (at least I don't think I have).
The coolest person for me was probably Patrick Stewart. Awesome guy, helped me out quite a lot. (confidence wise, it was my first major shoot and I was nervous as hell, especially to see him sitting in the green room. I shat a fecking building)
I've met Ally McCoist at a football match and gotten his autograph :3
