That is one of the points yes, plus the main point is for people who watch anime or read manga to gather together and talk about all kinds of shit which may or may not include it.

To find new anime, talk about shows you're watching and shows you've watched, and anything that has any relevance to anime.

No, the point is to talk about everything related (and not related) to anime.
The OP has the intention of showing people some anime that they hopefully find good and hopefully show visitors anime that they haven't seen before that we think is good.
