this is the grand falocy of western advancement though, you can't fix social problems with technology. take the washing machine, its invention was ment to rid women of the chore of washing cloths, except it invented the chore of using the washing machine instead, sure it saves time but it didn't eliminate the problem of women having to do the laundry. another example would be adult diabedies, we spend billions a year funneling into finding a cure for a disease thats mostly preventable in the first place if people were more responsible, type 2 makes up 90% of all diabedies cases, while type 1 makes up 10%, now there are exceptions to that but the concensus is that poor diet and weight management is the leading cause for that disease

This, so, so much. People treat me completely differently if I even once let it slip that my IQ is higher than my age.
I think the mistreatment of mental illnesses is also a massive societal problem. People throw terms around like 'god, I'm so biploar XD' and 'i feel kinda depressed right now', etc. We also have a clean split in society today with harsh and ridiculous romanticism of mental illnesses, with people trying to turn self-harm into a fashion trend, people going round pretending they're going to kill themselves purely for attention... and on the other end you've got a huge stigma attached to mental illnesses, where admitting you've got a (real) issue is social suicide. Forgive the pun but we need to be more level-headed about this stuff. It's real, it can be lethal, and it's not pretty, unique or fun in anyway.
