Public School is fucking awesome. Well.. I never really got bullied at all or had any problems.. probably because I knew a lot of people so no one really had the balls but if you have friends it's fun to see them everyday and have classes with them. If you are social it'll be great.. if not then don't bother, you'll make yourself depressed.
Agree x100
I had more friends when I was home schooled. Although when I was home schooled, I didn't live in one of the dumbest states in the U.S. My experience in public school was horrible, most notably middle school and high school. The guy I was tutoring for his standard physics class had major trouble in understanding simple Algebra, and he graduated with freakin honors (if that puts anything into perspective). If you live in the South, I wouldn't recommend it going to public school, but find some other means of social activity.
nice generalization there bro
You should go to public school. You can make friends there
It depends, here in Texas the board of education are religious Idiots who tried to edit Thomas Edison out of the history books because he wasn't Christian.
Unless you live in Texas I'd say go for it.
In public schools you get bullied if you're different from the mass.
I got bullied the first six grades, but i punched the bullies in the face.
Public schools are good if you're strong, but they're a psychological trap if you're a wuss.
I'd say that you do it unless you're really a true basement dweller, you're fat and have glasses.
And even more so if you live in the US. Those schools are terrible. No offense, but they are.
The education level pretty much sucks in US publics.
Volleybomb you mean thomas jefferson.
I was homeschooled, and I enjoyed jumping ahead with homeschooling. But I will admit, I disliked being separated socially. My suggestion is either find social outlets that work for you, or go back to public school unless you really care about your academic life; people hardly study in high school anyway.
You will learn valuable social skills from Public School, so yes.
I homeschooled, then I entered public school and got friends. It's very nice to have them, so I suggest you enroll immediately.
Yes, you'll learn to make friends, build relations with others, deal with the inevitable bullies in school, etc.
Well lemme say a few things before more people vote. I live in Louisiana, and I've never been to public school. I've been home-schooled since I was old enough to do school.
Having friends is a nice addon to public school. Get enrolled. Oh, and kill someone your first day. That way no one will mess with you.
You know, for the most part I'm surprised at all the reasonable responses. Most of the time a topic like home schooling comes up people just post retarded bullshit that leaves me scratching my head at how ass-backward they sound.
As for your question, I'd say go for it. I was homeschooled through highschool, and while I don't regret it (I still had friends and went out plenty and did stuff) I think it would have probably been better for me in the long run had I just gone to public school to HS. I'm starting college this fall, and I don't have any experience giving presentations or such, and I'm sure that I'll be slowed down and have difficulties with some of the shit I missed out on.
I'm going to be realistic here that while the education is probably superior in most cases, you definitely will miss out on alot of social experiences, even if you do work hard to be social and get out.
Best of luck sir.
