Once you play games for awhile at 60fps+ then I can guarantee that your opinion will swiftly change. Once you play your favourite games with butter-smooth performance you won't ever want to go back. 30fps will feel like a washboard.
If the game looks better and I can play at 30, I do it. Because, it's enough. I rather not lower graphics to get something I feel no need for.
I played Assassins Creed: Unity and now Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on 20-30 fps. It was playable. I have never gotten the 60 fps stuff. I see no reason for me doing it differently since i'm perfectly fine playing as it is now.
I used to play at framerates like that. I still find it tolerable, depending on the game, but 60 fps is a vast improvement.

Currently, I see it as a good thing. Because I can play better looking games at lower framrate without complaining. Which some people apparently can't to the point of refusing to play them at all. I rather play a game than not because the framerate wasn't high enough.

I played a game at 30 FPS for the first time in years and it hit me like a ton of bricks. If you don't play at 60 FPS much then it makes since that you wouldn't generally be accustomed to it, but once you start using 60 long-term you'll feel that jarring bite of 30 FPS.
I have games which play above 60 fps at all times yet they don't feel as buttersmooth as a 60 fps video. :s:
I have games which play above 60 fps at all times yet they don't feel as buttersmooth as a 60 fps video. :s:
This shit annoys me to no end, I always see 60FPS WebM's of games that look way smoother than what I'm playing.
This shit annoys me to no end, I always see 60FPS WebM's of games that look way smoother than what I'm playing.
Everything changes when you're actually controlling things. This is why 24fps for movies works fine whereas 30fps for video games feels stiff.
It's funny how playing a game on my 144hz monitor doesn't feel as smooth as watching a 60 FPS video.
Unless someone is doing some mass spamming, ignore lists are for tools.
Unless someone is doing some mass spamming, ignore lists are for tools.
And we all know diggidy damn well that if you have someone on your ignore list you look at their posts anyways
I do it to hide the should-be-bannable NSFW avatars
you could adblock them
Unless someone is doing some mass spamming, ignore lists are for tools.
i never use the block/ignore member thingy because i feel it'd make it harder to follow conversations
And we all know diggidy damn well that if you have someone on your ignore list you look at their posts anyways
Or to tell someone they've blocked them to get some sort of "revenge". "Yeah I'm ignoring you but need to know that I'm ignoring you. That'll show you! >=)"
I prefer the springy aiming of GoldenEye and TimeSplitters rather than the good ol aiming of modern FPS games It feels kind of smoother
I prefer the springy aiming of GoldenEye and TimeSplitters rather than the good ol aiming of modern FPS games It feels kind of smoother
GoldenEye has aged atrociously and I don't understand how anyone could defend its controls in modern times
I do it to hide the should-be-bannable NSFW avatars
??? are you upset by porn or something?
??? are you upset by porn or something?
It triggers me.
??? are you upset by porn or something?
NSFW has a meaning
NSFW has a meaning
Adblock, user blocking, disabling avatars entirely, or maybe just not going on Facepunch while you're at work
the nsfw avatars are stupid
NSFW has a meaning
so because people want to waste time at work, the community should be extra careful to not allow suggestive images to be part of the culture. gotcha. how about fucking off and doing your job instead
so because people want to waste time at work, the community should be extra careful to not allow suggestive images to be part of the culture. gotcha. how about fucking off and doing your job instead
what are breaks
so because people want to waste time at work, the community should be extra careful to not allow suggestive images to be part of the culture. gotcha. how about fucking off and doing your job instead
Ever heard of the concept that sometimes having breaks during work is a good thing and will make employees more productive? Unless there literally is no time to break, like a bad day at work for me, I expect to be allowed to do whatever I want within reason otherwise. [editline]2nd September 2016[/editline]
I do it to hide the should-be-bannable NSFW avatars

The mods have been discussing this and related issues for the past two days and we're sorting out a number of issues that we've been lax on. You guys have PROBABLY noticed the 'what turns you on thread' was wiped the other day. > anyone who remakes that one or similar NSFW threads that have been closed will be permabanned. You should understand when a thread is closed it's for a reason, there's no autolocks. > the 'hot girls' thread and anything similar is currently being discussed. They're clearly marked NSFW and are full of legal content, but there's other implications we may have to consider in it being accessible on our website and we may need to tighten policy. [current mod vote is in favor of removal- we're pretty sure you can find porn on at least one other website] > if it becomes clear you're a pedo posting loli or whatever you're going to be removed and potentially reported regardless of the "victimless crime" arguments. FP should not a safe haven for this kind of shit. I've already warned the catgirls thread to just flat out avoid anything that could be misconstrued as such, '1000 year old witch' excuses or not. > NSFW avatars are going to be dealt with much more strictly once we've got a consensus on the line to cross (and maybe some old forum functions) set up. > we don't care how upset you are that an avatar has anime or a furry getting blown up like a balloon in it. If it's NSFW, report the user. If it only hurts your fragile sensibilities go cry a river somewhere else instead of derailing threads to bitch about it This is the warning to clean up before we do.
From the last thread we had on whether nsfw avs should stay or go and imo if you dont like somebody's av its best to adblock them anyway
what are breaks
they're still obnoxious [editline]2nd September 2016[/editline] that's my unpopular (i guess) opinion
Personally I tend to associate specific posters with their avatars rather than their names. Telling someone to disable all avatars because of a few NSFW avatars is a dumb suggestion. Though, if an avatar does bother you, just block it with adblock or whatever you use. I guess at work you don't have your own personal browser settings, so there's the fact that it won't save your blocked avatars list.
what are breaks
Why are you browsing facepunch on a work computer during break
Doesnt sit right with me to have cropped anime porn avs to show off to the kids that frequent this site for attention and profile messages honestly
tbh if they want the attention let them have it, unless it really is too nsfw to accept And besides as previously mentioned you can just hide elements
