Alright time for a proper unpopular one: I like washing the dishes. I like seeing everything nice and clean and neatly put away after I'm done.
I need to wash dishes because nobody else washes them the right way
maybe a thin layer of grease on the bottom of the tupperware is fine for most people, but I am not a neanderthal and therefore have standards

If it's not squeaky clean you're doing it wrong.
steven universe sucks
It'd be so much better if it didn't waste so much of its time on bullshit filler.
i don't mind loli unless it's porn or damn close to it
it's only then that it becomes a problem
I thought loli just referred to the porn. Are you referring to like, young characters in shows?
I know it's probably bad to judge media based on aesthetics alone but man, the Steven Universe artstyle alone is incredibly off-putting to me.
The background art is fine, but the character designs are butt ugly imo.

Steven Universe character designs are fucking horrid
it's fantastic try it
As someone who's not a particularly huge fan, I didn't really notice anything particularly wrong with them, though that's probably because I'm not noticing the glaring issues of their anatomy or just because of different tastes or some shit.
What exactly about them looks bad to you, out of curiosity?

The lips, first off, and the bulging eyes, and the noses.
Little things that go a long way. Faces are important for someone to be attached to a character and these faces are fucking shiiiiiit
I hate those little pop vinyl shit things
I hate those little pop vinyl shit things
They're the worst because so many companies shit out Pop Vinyls rather than going to NECA and making quality products
[editline]9th September 2016[/editline]
Well...as good as "quality" as NECA makes but if their Kaiju figures are anything to go by

See originally I just hated them because they're barely varied little cheap pieces of shit where they just add details to what is essentially the exact same model, they're overproduced, and they're fucking everywhere flooding people's shelves, stores, arcade prize machines, and everybody buys them for some inexplicable reason. They're the modern equivalent of Tiger Electronics.
Then I learned they apparently buttfucked the vinyl figure industry and that just makes me hate them even more.

in terms of art style and character design, i never really had a problem with the faces, for me it's the philosophy they have where a character is basically an overly simplistic series a shapes with skin-tight clothing and just not really a lot of thought put into them. like, look at this;

it's lazy, and i can understand why it's lazy, being a tv cartoon and not a high-budget feature film, but other cartoons, some even airing right now, manage to pull it off so much better. it's also pretty jarring, looking at the simplistic designs with the highly detailed backgrounds. and then there's the fact that all the characters are vampires and don't cast shadows.
Talking about art style, this picture comes to mind too.

I don't mind similar or simple art styles if the content is good.

Who can forget the anime scene
It's pretty cool

I don't have an issue, just felt the picture was relevant. I love Gumball.
Honestly, while I dislike anime as a whole, a lot of the art I feel is a hell of a lot better than american cartoons, but then again, I'm not quite a fan of american cartoons either.

Perhaps due to the fact that typically those foreign shows are aimed at older audiences.

There's also this from that oldish Powerpuff Girls thread:

As a person who enjoys anime just as any other sort of medium, that isn't entirely true. There's plenty of great looking anime, but there's just as much terrible crap that looks dumber than the "typical" american animated shows.

The side-mouth "fad" in anime is fucking lazy as hell and looks terrible, but it is very common.
Clannad's art style gave me cancer but everyone raved about the story so I stuck with it. Story ended up being completely underwhelming, I felt cheated.
the individual is not the smallest and most primary unit of society - instead there must be at the minimum a relationship connecting two individuals. one, two, or a million individuals do not constitute a society unless there are relationships such as agreements, customs, values, laws, beliefs, etc. it is such a relationship between two individuals that constitutes the smallest and most primary unit of society.
Not really sure how this is an unpopular opinion. A civilization is a group that shares values and some form of identity.
Unless you are arguing that individuals don't really matter on a societal level, which isn't exactly wrong, but we still have to accept that people will act on their own for their own interest, or at least what they believe to be their own interest. You can't rely on community desires alone to achieve a goal, and you can't realistically expect individuals who feel threatened or slighted to fall in line just because society wants them to.

the point is that i am basically explicitly disagreeing with the idea that the individual is the smallest and primary unit of a society.
there are quite a few people (online at least) that frame social and moral imperatives in terms of individual needs and desires and freedoms. they posit that society is the sum total of individuals pursuing self-interest. i explicitly disagree with this idea because it is impossible to have a society of one man.
All of these weed memes and snoop dog related stuff are so fucking obnoxious and ridiculos. It's not fucking funny. At all.
I don't find any of the NES/SNES Mario platformer games interesting enough to finish.
Can't stand R.E.M.

Why do the parts have to be reflective of the whole?
That's a pretty substantial argument to be making. Individual behavior, be it people in a society, or atoms in a molecule, frequently has no direct correlative effect on the behavior of the whole. It's far more complicated than that. I'm not saying you are wrong, just that you seem to be stretching things, or attempting to reduce things to too basic of a level.
