But it would be 3 times under 15 years everyone already knows exactly what happens
Doesn't the Wayne family get shot every new batman

I think at least the slides in an intro would be nice
[editline]23rd September 2016[/editline]
I really liked how Raimi trilogy had a recap with the theme and opening credits in slides
[editline]23rd September 2016[/editline]
And again I'm pretty convinced this would be the last time since it's finally MCU
But Incredible Hulk had a short origin recap in opening creds and that's basically the kind of thing I hope to see if they wanna skip to Spidey following civil war
Rocky Horror Picture Show is the perfect October film to watch to get me in the mood of Autumn.
How is this an unpopular opinion? I love the fuck out of Rocky Horror
except its not progress and the post-enlightenment zeitgeist
the fact is that roman civilization was usually in decline after they conquered the varied nations that formed their empire. roman civilization was effectively a giant parasite that slowly caused the civilizations of Greece, Egypt, Anatolia, etc to wither considerably. whats impressive is the fact they had an army that managed to conquer everybody. there's nothing else impressive about the romans because all they did was ransack places en masse and steal from the subjected.
once they ran out of places to conquer this entire system they had developed began to inevitably contract and then collapse.
compared to Hellenic civilization prior to them, and to medieval civilization which succeeded them - the roman era seems to be one of persistent rot
I now can see why you're posting this in the unpopular opinion thread. There is much to be impressed by the Romans beyond their ability to conquer things. They had a vibrant artistic, literary and philosophical culture, as any other civilisation had. Not only that, but their system of government and law has informed the basis of today's systems. In the west, I'm not sure if there is any empire that has had such a lasting effect as Rome.
Funnily enough, the idea of Rome in decline emerges from their own glorification of their mythological past. Constantly throughout the republican period people would bemoan how Rome had diverged from its original and best state under their ancestors (Cato for example). Seeing as much of the literary remains of Rome comes from the class of people who would hold these conservative, aristocratic views, its been a persistent idea in how people have thought of Rome. It's a weird contradiction too, seeing as Rome is somehow in constant decline yet managed for forge a huge cosmopolitan empire.
The whole mainstream/meta culture around video games/tv/anime is obnoxious and snotty as hell. Whatever the flavor of the month is, is the coming of a second god. Then a month later it's a steaming pile of trash. Things like SAO, Attack on Titan, Naruto and so on were decent for their time. But once they were out of the spotlight they became the bottom of the barrel when all they really were, were average things. They were enjoyable but still had flaws.
Now whenever you bring up anything all you do is get shot down or made fun of because it's the face of nerd/weeb culture thanks to people that are either too insecure or judgmental to accept that people can like what they want. If I'm having fun watching or playing something that is total crap in the eyes of others. Don't give me grief. It's petty and a low blow towards anyone. This applies to just about anything in all honesty and I will admit there are exceptions to it. If someone's hobby is directly interfering with others who do not want to be messed around with. That is wrong, plain and simple.
But if I wear a t-shirt from a series I like, heck, lets just say I do a cosplay (one with actual effort put into it.) You get immediately lumped into the group of weeaboos, nerds, otakus, what have you. In my case, I'm trying to have fun, or I think it looks good. To others, it's seriously "OH MY GOD CRINGE WEEB ALERT" people trying to be ironic like filthy frank, and doing the exact opposite of the points he makes about the exact situation by repeating the immature things he spews out (Things NOT to do or general humor.).
It's extremely pretentious to look down upon people who do/play/watch things they enjoy. But there are still exceptions to it. There always will be. But if some people could just grow up a little bit, then every media culture could feel a bit more secure about themselves because they do not have to worry about being looked down upon for what they like.
It goes like this: If I want to get a tattoo that reminds me of a series i like to watch. The response I'd get? Cringe and disgust. If I wanted to get a tattoo of a pet's paw print? Respect and reinforcement.
If the double standard above can just be grown out of, many people would be bettered by it. Internet forums would also be much less toxic too.

to be completely psychotic, especially since they seem to be placed around farms or something where there are huge bits of empty land. A stronger case could be made for actually entering someone's house, but I don't think you should pay with your life if you walk on someone's front yard.
In Finland and many other Nordic countries, there's something called Everyman's Right, which basically means people can wander, pick berries, camp etc. do other non-intrusive activities in wilderness, even in private lands.
In Finland, the freedom to roam and related rights are called "jokamiehenoikeus" in Finnish and "allemansrätten" in Swedish (lit. "the everyman's right"), similar to other Nordic countries.
Everyone may walk, ski or cycle freely in the countryside where this does not harm the natural environment or the landowner, except in gardens or in the immediate vicinity of people's homes (yards). Fields and plantations, which may easily be harmed, may usually not be crossed except in the winter.
One may stay or set up camp temporarily in the countryside, a reasonable distance from homes, pick mineral samples, wild berries, mushrooms and flowers (as long as they are not protected species). One may fish with a rod and line (only still waters), row, sail or use a motorboat on waterways (with certain restrictions), and swim or bathe in both inland waters and the sea. One can walk, ski and ice fish on frozen lakes, rivers and the sea. Income from selling picked berries or mushrooms is tax-free. Picking cloudberry may be temporarily restricted[citation needed] in parts of Lapland.
One may not disturb others or damage property, disturb breeding birds (or their nests or young), or disturb reindeer or game animals. One may not cut down or damage living trees, or collect wood, moss or lichen on other people's property, nor may one light open fires without the landowner's permission (except in an emergency). It is acceptable, however, to use an alcohol burner, wood stove or similar device that has no hot parts touching the ground. One may not disturb the privacy of people's homes by camping too near to them or making too much noise, nor litter, drive motor vehicles off road without the landowner's permission, or fish (excluding angling) or hunt without the relevant permits.[10] In the autonomous province of Åland the right to camp is not necessarily recognized.[11][12]
The right is a positive right in the respect that only the government is allowed to restrict it as in the case of strict nature reserves. However, the exact definition remains mostly uncodified and based on the principle of nulla poena sine lege (what is not illegal cannot be punished).

I think this should be a thing everywhere, as long as you're not in the direct vicinity of someone's home, you should have the right to wander around.
Caviar looks fuckin' nasty and I would only try it if I got it for free.

I don't even think that many people would like it it seems like the kind of thing people would eat just because it's expensive and 'that's what rich people are supposed to like'

Well, you haven't tried it, so I feel as though the second part of your statement is a bit silly.
Caviar is fantastic.

It looks nasty but man I dunno. My fish keep laying eggs and then eating them, if they think it tastes good enough to make them eat their children, it must be pretty damn great.

I'm open to being wrong on it and having it turn out that people actually do just love the shit out of caviar, but I just can't imagine weird fish egg things as being any good at all. In fact I imagine it as one of those nasty, ludicrously cheap oddities that you see guys like Ashens eat instead of something fancy.
Then again, you do gotta understand that I fuckin' hate fish. I've never had any fish I like, so I can pretty much say with certainty that anything fish related is going to be gross to me, including their eggs.
I haven't really tried caviar yet but raw fish roe in general is amazing. Rich yet not overwhelming, with an intense briny, marine flavour that is just shy of being fishy.

To be fair, a lot of the fanciest foods today (such as lobster and caviar) first started off as basically poor peoples' food - it took a long time before they were associated with fine dining

I still think lobster is overrated. Prawns have superior texture, and crabs have superior flavour.
Yeah I know it's less secure, but I'm far far more likely to say "fuck it" and walk away from a website that has really strict password requirements when registering. Not every one of my passwords meets these stupid requirements - the best one I've seen being having an uppercase letter in the center of the password and at least 3 numerical characters. Fuck off, like seriously.
In fact I would argue that's less secure because you're forcing everyones password to use a predictable format.
Sites really shouldn't bother enforcing security policies like that. If some moron wants to use "password" as their password then let them. If their account gets compromised they only have themselves to blame. The only time any sort of security policy should be enforced is for things like moderator accounts on forums or accounts tied to financial stuff like Paypal or your bank's site.

weird, sounds like another country I know
Rather than Mafia 3, I can't help but think that a reboot of an Illusion Softworks game would've been a better idea in hindsight. (2K Czech still owns Vietcong and Flying Heroes)
Never enjoyed a single GTA. They somehow always manage to feel boring and incredibly 'typical' to me. I love crime games and the like so you'd think GTA would be up my alley but they all feel off putting and generally just boring. Hard to explain.

The thing is, when some idiot uses "password" as his password and gets "hacked," he complains to the site about their security, and they just don't want to deal with it. Easier to enforce at least a minimum password standard. Obviously the ones that enforce like at least one special character each from two different lists of special characters are really annoying though.
and then the idiot's hijacked account starts spamming links to knock-off Rolex on the forums and everybody has to deal with that shit

Just because a moron complains doesn't suddenly make it the site's responsibility though.

The only one they should really enforce is length, 8-9 characters is a pretty decent minimum length. And if it detects you're using a dictionary word it should have a little popup saying "uh, hey buddy, that password fucking SUCKS. Here's how to fix it!"
And don't set a fucking maximum length.
Also it's not just the predictable format, but people wind up just using the same password they always do but forced to work with the changes. So if I just normally use trumpisahotlittletwink, and it says add a number and capital letter a lot of people will just use Trumpisahotlittletwink1 which technically is better, but really not by much.
i don't like artstyles where every person has huge mutant eyes
I think the United States's alphabet soup departments need to separate White and Hispanic from each other when counting criminal activities.

People don't care what is or is not your responsibility. They will bitch at you until you make it your responsibility. People are annoying.
I don't really care that the kids these days don't know how to work a rotary phone or know what a floppy disc is or whatever. I won't care when people born later on in life won't know what a DVD is (they probably will though).
I see older people bring shit like this up a lot as if it makes young people naive or stupid and it's really condescending a lot of the time, or it's just treated like a tragedy.
It makes no sense at all. Why should young people, in any practical terms, need to be aware of how outdated old shit works? Like, what, should I shit on older people because they probably don't know how to use a fuckin' telegraph? And why would me being a ~millenial~ prevent me from knowing about anything that happened before I was born? Most of the things I know about are from before I was born, that's how time works. I know I'm kind of preaching to the choir because Facepunch's demographic doesn't include 50 year old moms, but y'know, it's kind of annoying.

Find me a person born in 1980 who would understand how a hand-driven meatgrinder works.
I hate the idea that, just because you don't know the intricacies of previous technology, that it somehow makes you a dolt.
Just because someone says something different than they did before doesn't mean they're 'backpedaling'.
There is such a thing as admitting you were wrong or changing your mind. Backpedaling can be a legit thing, yeah, but people jump to accuse people of it waaaaay too much.

It's weird that apologizing is considered backpedaling these days

The thing is a lot of the people who go back on what they said before don't admit that they were wrong, the usually try to act like they were misunderstood, or that they were saying the right thing all along.
