I wonder if people gave me boxes because of what I said about bacon or Islam, there can be strong opinions about both.
I don't really get comparisons between Overwatch and TF2 beyond the "both have cartoony graphics of some sort" comparison.
Probably going to be really unpopular here: The main reason why many people are poor is because of themselves and their attitudes. Nothing or no one else. Hear me out: Today there just seems to be this trend where people attempt to one-up each other by trying to be glamorous, and wasting so much money towards that end. People waste hundreds or thousands of dollars on tattoos, they buy the most-expensive smart phones, and they get other things on finance which they'll struggle to make the repayments on. Anecdotal, but take my ex. She's from a poor family who live in a housing commission. She has a job, but she has to have her parents or friends drive her to and from work and other places, because she doesn't have a car or motorbike. She actually wants a motorbike, and second-hand motorbikes aren't awfully expensive. You could probably find some good ones for well under $1,000. However, instead of saving up for that motorbike, she blows all of her money on getting drunk with her best friend several times per week and eating (expensive) takeaway frequently. But even if she did manage to save up enough money, she's prioritised getting $600 worth of tattoos over getting a motorbike. Yet, if she had the motorbike, her work would probably offer her more shifts as she would be more-available (she wouldn't have to organise lifts), and she would even be able to find other, better paying, work. But that's another thing. She has no ambition. She wants to work as a bartender for the rest of her life. A dead-end job that pays worse than a shelf stacker, and is a job that should only be done by uni students while they are studying. Studying at a technical college or university in Australia is free until you earn about $50,000 per year (where you then make income-based repayments), yet not just my ex, but a lot of people don't even want to put the effort in for a two-year diploma, which would open so many doors. Many people are complacent doing dead-end, unskilled work; work which will probably be made redundant over the next few decades. I'm not saying this as someone who was given 'a small loan of a million dollars'. I was kicked out of home at 17 and I had to make something of that. But I've seen that most of the fault with people being poor isn't neoliberal governments, or stingy employers, or immigrants or offshore businesses taking jobs, but people who don't know how to spend and save money.
this is a well-thought out argument with lots of support and isnt just you ranting about your ex lol
That depends If somebody kills themselves over threats that don't go beyond "kill urself lol" then we didn't lose a cancer cure
This rarely ever happens, and when it does, it usually has a lot more to do with it than just hurtful words
That depends If somebody kills themselves over threats that don't go beyond "kill urself lol" then we didn't lose a cancer cure
Measured responses to cyberbulling is one thing, but now the victims human worth is a factor? That's kind of insensitive don't you think?

I have several friends who regularly complain about how unfair life is and that no one cares for poor people but all of them are poor because they make shitty choices and spend half their money on weed and alcohol. I'd also like to add that many people get tattoos you can't cover with a shirt and wear strange makeup as part of their subcultures and wonder why they fail at interviews. I'm really tired of one guy specifically that gets 8000 in social welfare every month. He spends so much on drugs and unnecessary things that he can't even feed himself properly. He bounces around between friends for food, a bed and more drugs yet he has the audacity to complain about how the state treats "poor" people. Recently he got a full time job at McDonald's where 70% of his wage would be paid by the state for the first few months. On his own initiative he went out and got a new job after a week at some shady Serbian tobacco shop and ended up getting fired after a few days, either because he was useless or the employer was an asshole, I would put my money on the former. The absolute worst thing is that the guy has awesome parents that are supportive yet set good boundaries but he keeps blaming his misfortune on everyone except himself.

The way poverty is handled in the US is shitty and largely unhelpful even to the people that use their welfare properly but I don't see that argument holding up in Sweden.
I find Wario and Waluigi to be more interesting characters than Mario and Luigi
Counter Stike is boring as hell and I hate that it's the only mainstream competitive fps.
Counter Stike is boring as hell and I hate that it's the only mainstream competitive fps.
I'd love a quake or UT style FPS to be mainstream and competitive but their difficulty means it's probably never going to happen. Like look how much more interesting this is than the average csgo match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sF1he7ylOI
Counter Stike is boring as hell and I hate that it's the only mainstream competitive fps.
Rainbow Six Siege might become an esport soon. It's definitely got the sort of gameplay conducive to a competitive scene.
Not entirely sure if it's unpopular or not but the seemingly popular trend of humour that makes light of people being depressed and such is incredibly unfunny.
coming from a long time fan of UT that was really boring to watch there's no narrative because the action moves too fast
there's lots of little fast narratives instead of one big one. I don't think they have any less suspense or detail if you can keep up with the state of both flags, though the camera work didn't do great about that.
coming from a long time fan of UT that was really boring to watch there's no narrative because the action moves too fast
Completely agreed. The reason stuff like Dota is interesting to watch is because there are lulls and crescendos, with spikes in drama and time to comprehend stuff that's happened. There's natural downtime. Twitch-shooters don't really have that
All sports and competition are based on luck over every other factor. There are factors that one can utilize to increase the rate of victory (skill), but it is all based on luck nonetheless.

Otherwise you're entirely wrong.
April fool's jokes are usually annoying and unfunny.
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice was ... ADEQUATE
April fool's jokes are usually annoying and unfunny.
And I plan on changing that.
Force awakens was worse than the prequels.
Force awakens was worse than the prequels.
Why? I didn't think it was great. But it had one key advantage: it was actually competent.
I don't like electric cars at all and I will never drive one.
I think April Fool's is incredibly childish and like the Easter Bunny / Santa Claus where it was fun to play along as a kid but it's just so dull and annoying that so many people make such a big deal about it almost never is there any actual 'Fooling' going on it's usually one of the same 3 things 1) sites drastically changing shit 2) people saying they're getting together / breaking up / having a baby on social media 3) people playing (shitty) practical jokes/trying to do jump scares that are more harassment than they are a 'fooling' also it's fucking April 1st, why can people not look at the fuckign date and go 'oh, they're probably not actually pregnant / wanting to do x with me / going to do x, etc fuck. such a stupid 'celebration' in retrospect, I probably shoudl have posted this in STGYM edit: also whenever I bring this up, it usually ends with 'oh you're being so negative! it's just in good fun, lighten up!' no, just shut the fuck up please
I don't like electric cars at all and I will never drive one.
why?
The day self-driving cars become publicly available and not prohibitively expensive, I will buy one and never sit behind a steering wheel willingly ever again. I hate driving so much.
The day self-driving cars become publicly available and not prohibitively expensive, I will buy one and never sit behind a steering wheel willingly ever again. I hate driving so much.
you will most likely still have to be at the wheel in case something goes wrong :)
Fallout 4 is my favorite.
I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but I definitely enjoy it more than a lot of people do.
April Fools is shit Overall they should just stop doing it
Fallout 4 is my favorite.
Fallout 4 is simply and objectively better gameplay wise, but New Vegas still holds the princely crown of writing and immersion for me, even with the graphics
