I think that Windows 8.1 is pretty good and I do not understand why people like Windows 10 so much over it. Yes, the new start menu is so-so, but I cannot argue with the performance improvements and the compatibility it still has with the old hardware and software I have lying around, which is one of the reasons why I cannot upgrade to Windows 10. It became more like previous Windows versions with the 8.1 update too. I can definitely understand that people did not like 8 (as opposed to 8.1) though.
Windows 10 is the best Windows, full stop
If we talk about them in the context of their time, it has to be 7 and XP. I think 10 is good but it has some pretty shitty problems edit: actually out of those I'd probably say 7 because XP had some big problems security-wise
Just because a documentary/ form of media is progressive/ tackles social issues, it is not automatically good. It seems like every time someone makes a documentary about racism or something it's automatically deemed good even if it's actually horrible.
Robot Chicken has to the cringiest show ever made.
Robot Chicken has to the cringiest show ever made.
Let me introduce you to a show called "Ridiculousness".
Cringy shows and no mention of Problem Solverz?
Cringy shows and no mention of Problem Solverz?
Problem solverz was a masterpiece of disaster in the same vein of Hindenburg
I think that modern Final Fantasy is fucking garbage. Yes even 7. Especially 7.
Legend of Zelda is a terrible, overrated franchise with horrible gameplay. I have no clue why so many like LoZ.
Legend of Zelda is a terrible, overrated franchise with horrible gameplay. I have no clue why so many like LoZ.
I thought I'd like the gimmick of Majoras Mask but after dropping a few hours on it I just hated it more and more. What really put me off was when I beat the Goron race after beating Goht in the ice temple, getting the bottle of gold or whatever, then learning that the Gilded Sword can only be obtained if I gave the blacksmith the gold on the first day, so I had to rewind time, re ascend the ice temple, refight Goht, return to the Goron race, win the gold, and get to the blacksmith all over again just so I could get my stupid sword. After that I just was like fuck this shit maybe I'll pick it back up after a while. Each other Zelda game I've played I haven't gotten much farther in and I just sort of gave up on them. The original LOZ was way too fucking nonlinear and cryptic for me so I just gave up on it after the first dungeon. I kept on getting lost in Link's Awakening's second dungeon and after running around a bunch I just said fuck it. And Zelda 2 had Death Mountain to say to me "fuck you how dare you actually enjoy one of our games!". And I don't want to just have one eye glued to a strategy guide handholding me through the game. LOZ is like one of the fucking epitomes of nurd culturr and I see it way more often than I would expect, but the only Zelda (by title) game I would possibly pick up in the near future is Hyrule Warriors. [editline]adsfoiuhn[/editline] I probably just suck given I've grown up on more straightforward games like platformers and racing games but LOZ is time and time again just one of those series I can't get into. Sorry.
I think that modern Final Fantasy is fucking garbage. Yes even 7. Especially 7.
XIV is amazing, although it's a MMO so maybe it doesn't count?
XIV is amazing, although it's a MMO so maybe it doesn't count?
I struggle to call that a FF game but it's a good game in its own right.
John Wick was super boring. I really hope it doesn't take off as a franchise; no movie that lazily-written has any right to succeed.

I felt like the only kid in the world that didn't fall in love with Ocarina of Time in 1998. It's a beautiful game and genius for it's time (and even now), but I never thought it was the "Greatest game of all time" like the rest of the world keeps labeling it. Sadly, the game's not even in my personal top 10.

Personally I think A Link to the Past was a far better game.
I really don't get why people are so into Firefly. I watched 1-2 episodes and it was just not very good. The writing was bad, the characters weren't very likable, and the production values were garbage. Does it get drastically better? Because I just do not see the appeal.
This might be breaking the thread a bit and it will probably offend some of you but IMHO babies or people with extremely horrible birth defects or people in bad accidents or who have incurable diseases should be aborted before birth, euthanized, or allowed to die or commit suicide in a humane manner. I'm not going to attack anyone who has a disabled family member or struggles with anything like this because it's the families or person's right to choose about what is best. Also im not talking about things like downs syndrome or autism or higher functioning disabilities that can be helped with therapy, but like stuff where they have like half a brain and can't even eat or talk or some type of terminal cancer or painful disease with no cures. Basically things that you couldn't survive without modern medicine and where you can't function at all without a machine or some shit. Seriously what type of life is that where you are a vegetable and have zero awareness of anything around you, or have constant seizures and pain. Not to mention the people who get abused or placed in the state's care for whatever remains of their life after basically destroying their family. Obviously the choice should be up to the parents or person and not the state, but it should be legal to have this type of option after birth or with serious diseases. It's way more humane to let someone die painlessly and go somewhere better. Also I think we need way more funding for research of horrible deformities and cancers and such so we can prevent or cure them so this doesn't happen to anyone. Like why does this stuff even still exist it's the 21st century. Again sorry if I broke the thread or offended anyone, but I had to mention my opinion after seeing some gruesome medical picture of some kid with like 2 brains who was obviously suffering horribly in an unrelated Google search.

All judgements beforehand are simply judgements of what you've seen so far. It's not wrong to say you didn't enjoy those episodes, but it's another thing entirely to make a judgement of the entire show itself. You wouldn't be able to judge Twin Peaks on just one season let alone two episodes.
Writing kinda doesnt matter when the action is that well directed
I really didn't think it was that great! The Matrix has amazing action; John Wick has well-handled action, but it wasn't groundbreaking by any stretch of the imagination, and the entire film kind of drags on towards the end. Meanwhile, the characters of the film are flimsy and stereotyped, and the entire revenge theme is overplayed and gimmicky. I was seriously bored watching it. It's impossible to feel connected to the main character because most of his story arc is told second-hand, from the perspective of a fake russian and the guy who plays Meek in game of thrones.

On the topic of crowdfunding, I'd like to think that video games are the last thing that needs it, seeing all the controversy surrounding it. I feel such funds would be far better used on making current technologies more consumer friendly (i.e: The Peachy Printer).

Ending an argument/debate with an "ugghh, you're not worth my time" is stupid. Bonus points if it's online. I mean, I can understand if it comes to that after showing legitimate evidence for whatever you're talking about, but I find that mostly isn't the case.
Here's one: There's nothing wrong with people performing tax avoidance and using tax havens. You can bet your ass that if I was earning in the highest taxable income bracket here, 49 cents for each dollar of income, I would do everything I can to reduce my tax liability. I'm not patriotic to the point that I would volunteer to let the government take as much as they can, fuck that. If tax laws are so poorly designed to allow for such legal tax avoidance, I will exploit it. I wouldn't be breaking the law, so why not do it? If the government fixed the tax laws to eliminate tax avoidance, fine, I'll play ball. I won't engage in tax evasion, because that's illegal.
Here's one: There's nothing wrong with people performing tax avoidance and using tax havens.
"profiting off of a community and then refusing to put back in your fair share" is absolutely the wrong thing to do, illegal or not. If the law is what defines your morality, you are a psychopath. Not a single person today has become rich on their own; there is a vast and global infrastructure of roads, markets, money systems, ecologies and societies which they exploit to gain wealth. These systems require money to build and maintain. A person who doesn't pay their share of taxes is a leech. "The government" isn't some ominous group of people different from normal citizens, it's just the custodial body of a civilization. You aren't "cheating uncle Sam," you're robbing your children and your neighbors.
Around Christmas I watched the first two for the first time in my life, and now that I've finished the sixth, I can seriously say that it sucked. Time for the prequels.
