I agree with you on everything else but I really don't think the people pirating things as demos are that big a group. Money and convenience are the biggest factors IMO
With the amount of games that are launching optimised like complete trash and being picky with very specific cards I wouldn't blame anyone for pirating to see if it isn't complete shit. I imagine that's why demos are no longer really a thing. Nobody would've bought into the PC version of that recent Batman game if they knew how badly it was ported
Anyone defending finding the personal info and mocking of that Hampshire College student is a literal human piece of shit.
You can make fun of people all you want, but when you start going after personal info you turn into a irremediable creepy piece of garbage.

I'm not sure that's even an unpopular opinion anymore on Facepunch, which is actually quite nice to see.

The LMAO pics thread would like a word with you.

"But she's a big fatty sjw so its ok!" is the only argument I see from those people.
If you really want to go after someone that badly because they disagree with you, go outside.
played the overwatch beta
honestly it's one of the biggest overhyped games ever conceived.
It's an okay game, it's honestly nothing special. People are going apeshit over it and it really isn't anything so great.
I can see myself playing it for a few hours a day for a month then never play it again.
i dont really like arabs

I thought the original video where she was discovered was also a pile of trash. Stephen Crowder's kind of a huge cunt and the video didn't exactly convince me otherwise. Also who even titles their video in the 3rd person like that and then go on to say they schooled a bunch of SJWs when all he did was yell like a dickhead for a few minutes.
I like Bill O'Reilly.

I'm kinda on the fence about this because that OKCupid profile is funny regardless of who it belongs to. Like people make fun of OKC profiles all the time (e.g. the squart guy) and I don't think it's a problem.
On the other hand it was kinda shitty to try and dig more shit about her in the first place.

Laughter is fine when it's just that. Harmless, fun laughter.
I don't know much about what happened to the student, though. I wouldn't doubt that some people would think that laughter isn't enough to satisfy.

The solution is to just never click on that cancer.
ideally, piracy laws would only target distributors and not the individuals downloading.
It's funny because even this is done in a pretty dumb way, by doing things like going after sites like the pirate bay which are literally just a bunch of links. Might be because I'm a filthy lefty but I just don't think they should bother that much and rather companies should improve their services. If things are convenient and reasonable, most customers forgo piracy. Hell, anecdotally, a lot of people I know pirated the latest drake album because they just couldn't find it on spotify. And in that case it's literally exclusive to apple music for a week.
Primaries should be abolished in their entirety, especially in the UK. They are only democratic in the way that planning permissions are democratic here: only the nutters take part. The party should decide on the candidate and that should be that.
Windows 10 is my favorite OS I've ever used.
(although frankly, the only things that make it better than W7 in my eyes are general speed, DX12, and all the window navigation QOL improvements.)

I agree, except Microsoft still does so many things that make me angry. The registry really needs to go, and nobody should need to pull up regedit to fully disable telemetry.
And what is the deal with not being able to run separate desktop backgrounds on different monitors? What the fuck, you idiots? What the fuck?

The registry is just a settings database, right? Unless I'm missing something.
I understand how it works. I just think it's a clunky approach.
Dawn of War III isn't worth getting excited about.
Yes, I know that it took SEGA a lot longer to get the rights to Warhammer 40,000 than it took for them to acquire Relic Entertainment along with Company of Heroes 2. Speaking of Company of Heroes 2, I also know that they've been churning out a lot of DLCs for that game, though I can't help but think that's work better suited for a bored enough art team and maybe a handful of programmers, which leaves me wondering as to what everyone else at Relic's been doing to keep themselves busy while waiting for SEGA to sort out the licensing issues with Games Workshop.
In short, I think it'd be reasonable to demand transparency from the developers.

What exactly would you propose to take its place? I think it works fine, personally. It could be way worse looking / functioning for what it does.
if anything, regedit needs to be modernized a bit. i don't think it's changed much since windows 95
if anything, regedit needs to be modernized a bit. i don't think it's changed much since windows 95
I bet 10$ with a friend that W10 would give regedit a new logo replacing the win95 one. I lost 10$. Microsoft pls.
John Green's writing is shit. It's the most Grade A tween shlock that I've ever been forced to read for class.
It's the same characters:
- Nervous pre/post-pubescent teen kid who is unsure about his surroundings
- Strange, outgoing girl who ignores the norms and sticks it to the man (Nervousman's Crush)
- Angry old adult who is written to be an obstacle but never actually acts as an obstacle in any meaningful way
- Either fat or skinny friend who is emotionally bland until they need to have a conflict with main character
Also one of the following characters either has to die or suffer serious emotional/physical trauma.
See: Looking For Alaska, The Fault In Our Stars, Paper Towns, etc. etc. etc.
I dont think its fair to compare TF2 and Overwatch to eachother aside from both having cartoony/cartoon-ish graphics.
I think babies are ugly as fuck. I don't understand how people think they're cute. Hell, children overall give me the creeps.
Saying Harlan Ellison is misogynistic is dumb.
Most "graphical overhaul" mods for older games that add really high res textures and bump mapping to low poly models just look bad.
I even think Morrowind Overhaul just looks iffy in motion because you still have Morrowind's janky animation underneath.
The one exception i can think of is the SHTUP pack for System Shock 2.

I don't know why it's a thing, but the cartoon itself is pretty excellent if you ask me, so I don't really care.
