Oh hey, is this thread doing its weekly "is fallout 4 good" discussion?
Here's my fallout 4 opinion: The worst thing that game did was give me absolutely no communicated reason to bother with the settlement portion of the game, other than to lengthen the game.
Also, the Overwatch beta mostly reminded me how much fun I had with the beginning era of Team Fortress 2, when you could look at each individual part and go" Hey! I see the balance considerations made here!"

I imagine him looking a lot like his inspiration, Bugsy Siegel

lets talk about how bad skyrim is instead

I think nows a good time to rag on Bethesda in general
lets talk about how bad skyrim is instead
Skyrim is one of the dullest games to come out of Bethesda. It took all the charm, color (literal and stylistically) that Oblivion had, and by no small feat, killed the wonderul sense of exploration that previous Elder Scrolls games had. I have no idea how Skyrim got so much praise. It blows my mind to be honest.
I seem to be leaning on the /v/ side. I seem to be exposed to it so much.
Pretty sure Fallout 4 is a contender for my favorite game.
That's not saying much though when your list of favorite games includes things like FF7, lol.
That's not saying much though when your list of favorite games includes things like FF7, lol.
thats some bullshit and you know it

Why does that even matter?
its a matter of taste and saying shit like that just makes me think less of you
its a matter of taste and saying shit like that just makes me think less of you
yeah it's disgraceful. can't believe someone would say something that awful. what are they even thinking when they say they like ff7
Why does that even matter?
It was an example. It seems a fairly split opinion here that FO4 is mediocre (with about half instead thinking it's the best FO game yet) but when it comes to games he likes Film has a habit of acting like his opinion is the only one that matters. In this particular example (one I've used before, though not in exactly the same way) I think FF7 is utter garbage at best while Film rates it as one of his favorite games of all time.
FF7 is great if you like JRPGs, and it was a stunning game for its time
A+ soundtrack, groundbreaking presentation and visual design, and a wealth of character development and permanence - which, at the time, was not something video games possessed. It was funny and interesting and had a ton of content. What's the issue?
That's not saying much though when your list of favorite games includes things like FF7, lol.
those games you like are games I don't like
oooh shit now your opinion's invalid nigga
I have less than no hype for Battlefield 1. The trailer didn't sell me, and given what dice has been up to as of late, I'm at least doubtful.
If it'll be great then that'll be great, though.
Fallout 2 is not my favorite Fallout game, in fact, it might even be my least favorite of the series not counting Fallout: PoS. I still love it a lot, and while it is in a boiled down way "Fallout 1 plus a whole lot more shit" and it has this amazing unique feel to it, it really really suffers from a lack of focus or direction that makes it feel like a mess the entire game.
After a certain point the main quest just stops with nothing to guide you on how to progress, and from that point on you're pretty much supposed to just wander around until you end up in the correct place. Not to mention the balance of the game is entirely fucked, you pretty much eat shit until around New Reno when enemies start dropping shit loads of expensive guns and all the sudden money and armor is never a problem again and the game becomes significantly easier in the blink of an eye.
Pretty sure Fallout 4 is a contender for my favorite game. I've put over 8 days of playtime on it and I've only had if for about 4 months. I can see why some parts of it didn't work for some people, but I was satisfied with basically everything it did. The complaints I have are so minor that they're almost not worth mentioning.
I don't see how the effective removal of the dialog system, a core part of Fallout, is a minor complaint.
the problem with Fallout 4 is that they built an awesome open-world FPS and then castrated it with horrible writing
the four-choice dialogue system would work if any of the choices actually mattered
AND the game pigeonholes the player into being a wimpy-ass dad who never meaningfully explores his identity:
"Wow, you're from the before-time? What was life like before the war?"
"haha it was ok I guess we had cars and stuff. WHERE SHAUN???"
anyone who says "try again" after attempting to prove someone wrong should be banished to the darkest depths of hell
Tried to get into House of Cards, and holy fuck on a cross did it bore me. And the way Kevin Spacey talks to the camera is kind of dumb.
anyone who says "try again" after attempting to prove someone wrong should be banished to the darkest depths of hell
Depends who its with and the context..
Because my partner wants to go gym, and its so annoying because he just doesn't want to be there but he wants to get fitter, and every time i try and get him to push himself, he says "I can't" and i know what hes like, he doesn't push himself or try hard, he gets that mentality where if its hard, he gives up. So i say the "try again" thing and it works to an extent.
Overwatch is not normally my type of game, its not the style i go for and i really wasn't a fan of TF2.
But yet something about this game is really addictive, maybe its the balance? It doesn't feel like it's impossible to beat a certain "OP" class. Sure if you're someone like Tracer, its harder to beat a tank of somekind but its not impossible. It's actually a skill based game, you have to be good and have to practice to get better.
This is not by any measure an unpopular opinion
There's no motivation for any of the characters in Overwatch. In Team Fortress 2, the Meet The Team videos are very much explanatory of what the characters are and what their purposes are, and who they are, and what they do.
Overwatch's trailers are just like "Oh by the way Winston is a sad Gorilla who wants to meet his friends again. But we don't need to explain why that is, just watch this trailer"
Why is overwatch banned? What is their motivation? What is the badguy's motivation? Why is reaper constantly farting into/out of existence?

It was continuing on the discussion of Overwatch
Fallout 4 is complete garbage.
After playing The Witcher 3 I cannot take FO4 seriously at all and this is coming from a BIG Fallout fan, I almost cried when it got announced. Really a huge dissapointment. I never even finished the game and uninstalled it, got way too fucking boring. One of the main quests is literally "go do multiple fetch quests so you can continue the main quest" fuck off.
I bought it, and it was one of the few games that I refunded. I really don't get how people get into it. Its optimization was shit, as per bethesda tradition, it's not a fun RPG because any depth it could have had was ripped out, not a very fun shooter, gunplay was, like most RPG-FPS games, underwhelming, and story-wise the bit of it I got into was pretty shit. And I didn't hear good things about the rest so I got back my $60.
Like skyrim though, I'll probably buy it again when it's on sale for like $20 dollars and the mod community is mature. Bethesda are just pretty bad developers, but their community is top-notch.

PB is great and all but DD is one of my few 10/10 albums
IMO Demon days has better single songs, but the overall tone and feel of PB is better.
There should be an anti cheat system in games that doesn't bans cheaters and hackers if they are detected, but instead turns off their PC fans, overclock their CPU to insane GHz while removing all the graphical optimisation (LoD, tesselation etc). The ultimate goal is to cause hardware damage to the cheater's computer via overheating.
It's easy to just buy another $15-$60 copy of a game or create another account if it's F2P, but it's not easy to replace a $400-$1000+ component.

Building off of this, I don't know what it is but even still I love when Valve releases Meet The Team stuff. I hardly play TF2 anymore but when they release stuff like Expiration Date I find it exciting because there's a lot of charm there you, IMO, don't find all too often.

can't wait to have rockstar destroy my computer for daring to use a single player mod
Valve possess or possessed some of the best writers in the video games industry.

Sometimes i think this thread cant top itself with stupid opinions, but then someone like this comes along and proves me wrong.
The best anti-cheat systems out there is a 3 strike and your out rule.
3 Cheats, and you account gets blocked.
If something needs to be added, personally i think it should be this aswell:
3 Blocked Accounts with the same name and banking information then gets perma.
