Rocky horror picture show is stupid
a movie being "good" or "bad" is 100% subjective saying a movie is "objectively" good or bad is just a way of shielding yourself against opinions that differ from yours because you can literally just say their opinions are wrong and feel better about your own
There's a part of subjectivity but I definitely wouldn't say "100% subjective".
The only important quality of a movie is how much you enjoy it. 'objective' quality is just what you call subjective quality that the most people enjoy.
I think you can make objective observations or statements about art, just like you can about anything else. That should be obvious. But saying that a piece of art is just "Good." or "Bad." is using those terms in such a broad way that it doesn't really say anything except for your own personal feelings. An opinion on whether a piece of art is just good or bad is always going to be subjective because you can only really apply your own subjective standards for what those words should even mean when talking about something as complex as art in the first place.
if you went outdoors every once in a while, people wouldn't be able to cause you emotional trauma through video games
Yeah because the outdoors is totally a trauma-free utopia, right?
Upon rewatch, Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty mediocre.
I don't like smiling for pictures. I'd rather look natural.
The new Doom is probably going to be crap compared to the original and most people who say "Oh wow it's just like Old Doom!" don't have a single clue.
Please tell me why you think this.
I have a feeling that even though Battlefield 1 looks amazing and Infinite Warfare looks like total shit BF1 will be poorly received because EA DICE just loves to shit on good ideas and COD:IW will get decent reviews and be classified as just another COD. That's not to say I don't want BF1 to be good, I really do want a WW1 shooter with this gen graphics and gameplay, but I feel like this will be the outcome.
Ill probably force myself to like IW because hell if im not going to play it when it comes bundled with my 80 dollar cod4 remaster
CoD IW doesn't look terrible from what little the trailer shows. Actually the fact that it takes place on more than just EARTH sounds exciting for the series, but the trailer was kinda bad. It didn't really express what was going on, who the characters are, the mostly out of place David Bowie, and fact that Infinity Ward is developing are all reasons why I'm not making a split second decision that I want it. I've wanted space cowadooty for ages but all this has me like "ehhhhhhh". I'll wait until I see the live demo at Sony's conference in a month, hopefully they show both campaign and MP.

I find it bothersome when someone passes away and their cause of death isn't made available, especially when they are younger (<50). I feel like it's robbing others of knowledge that may help them to survive for longer.
I find most futuristic FPS to be repetitive, so I like to limit from the quantity of post-2010 CoD games to Battlefield, CS:GO, Insurgency and TF2.
This is not an unpopular opinion. It is related to health care. America needs a national health care system because of national security. Let me explain. Let say I live near Mexico or in the South Western US. I begin to have symptoms. I due to not having decent care will not go to a doctor due to unable to pay for it. It turns out to be plague. Now due to unable to afford health care have put the entire population around me at risk. If health care was nationalized, I would go to a doctor sooner without fear of personal costs preventing me from going.
If you think it's not an unpopular opinion then why would you post it in an unpopular opinion thread?
Because it not an argument I have seen for it thus so far. It also because I am not going make an entire thread for something I am going state within a paragraph. This thread still a place to display views.

Though now that you're arguing that we should allow popular opinions in the unpopular opinion thread I think you've gone back around to having unpopular opinions.
I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but mockbusters need to go away. They're all fucking cancer and I can't believe people are buying into crap like Sharknado. I mean 90% of them are literally scams imitating popular movies. Why are studios like The Asylum allowed to air this crap on channels like Syfy?

I am seriously unsettled by the rise of Dat Boi. It came out of nowhere. It hardly makes sense with context. I don't know if it makes sense. I suppose its ironic, but ironic towards what? I feel like I'm looking at a bunch of insane people when I look at people who think dat boi is funny. I simply don't get any of it. Is this how old people feel about internet humor?
Dat Boi is confusing in a different way for me, because the meme existed on Tumblr for what seems like almost a year now, but instead of a frog it was this picture of Pac-Man: As far as I know its reach was pretty limited, but recently it suddenly exploded in popularity. But instead of this strange, low resolution image of Pac-Man, it became associated with the frog on a unicycle that you know and hate today. Where the change occurred and why, I have no idea.
Memes stopped being funny in like 2011. Today 99% of memes are "im stuck in the friendzone" level cringe.
Memes stopped being funny in like 2011. Today 99% of memes are "im stuck in the friendzone" level cringe.
It's the opposite for me, in 2011 I hated them (along with most of FP, tbh.) But I suppose nowadays I just gave up and let the darkness consume me
I just can't think of memes as an inherently good or bad thing, a lot of them can be annoying (especially when corporate social media accounts clamp their cold, robotic pincers around them) but sometimes one will pop up that I can sorta get behind for a little while.
memes existed before the net

E.g. the LMAO pics thread Edit: This I don't get though
it's because we're going through increasing levels of irony and with each level of irony we advance the more ironic memes and the internet becomes i don't even know if i'm ironic or not anymore
Lonesome Road is New Vegas' best DLC.

The more popular they become the crappier the vast majority of them are going to be, especially in the case of memes where they provide a no-effort framework for someone to attempt to be funny. It's exactly why I find all the meme circlejerking in lmao pics to be completely unfunny trash. Even if the first few are legitimately funny (though in my personal opinion them ever actually being funny in the first place is pretty unlikely, for some reason people seem to gravitate towards the completely random or unfunny ones) after the first 2-3 times they're posted the thread just gets drowned in no-effort sewage.
