Because it's nice to have things visualized with good and fitting actors.
The issue is that you can never have a 1:1 transfer because the mediums are completely different and you are forced to use different techniques in them when telling a story. There are some things in books which would be impossible to directly translate to the screen, or from a screen to the pages of a book. They're different and should be treated as such, with the movie of a book being regarded almost as a work in its own right because it's obviously not going to be the same. It's like translating poetry or a novel from one language into another. Sure it's possible and may be indeed quite good, but you will lose much of what appealed in the original through translation. While staying true to the core concept of the book and integrating much of it into the movie is what you should be doing, those who work on the movie should be given creative freedom when making it. If they do a good enough job they can make something that stands up on its own extremely well even without the book.
somewhat related, I thought the Harry Potter films were bad every character ended up being watered down, both Dumbledores sucked, they were way too fast-paced, and they never came close to capturing the whimsy or the sense of danger in the books. The only thing they did well (and spectacularly well, at that) was Dolores Umbridge. [sp]not that it matters because in 5 years they're probably going to turn it into a show anyways[/sp]
Fallout 4's story was enjoyable. Some parts of it were extremely predictable from the word go and there's parts of it I don't like, but overall I enjoyed it, the characters felt memorable and I felt something for most all of them.
But quantum mechanics says that anything can happen at any time for no reason. Also, eat plenty of oatmeal, and animals never had a war; who's the real animals?
I really wouldn't be this mad about it if I didn't have to suffer through the same cycle of learning about quantum chemistry and being overwhelmed by all this weird complicated shit they've put in the lecture and then right at the end realising it isn't even anything hard it's just packaged in a weird way and suddenly it's all boring.

I think the word overrated is stupid the vast majority of the time. The only thing I can think of that I think is truly overrated is bacon.
I really hope Battlefield returns to future after Battlefield 1. To be specific, I'd love to see Battlefield 2143. Vietnam 2 would also be cool.

Idk whats wrong with me but I never find "good" pizza to be all that much better than stuff from a chain, its just different I've been to places that are higher quality and more expensive but its never felt super worth it
Idk whats wrong with me but I never find "good" pizza to be all that much better than stuff from a chain, its just different I've been to places that are higher quality and more expensive but its never felt super worth it
The quality of pizza largely comes from the experience, in my opinion. I could have a top-class pizza, but if I'm eating it alone at home, it's just some pizza. or, I could get generico hole-in-the-wall pizza with some buddies and it's gone in five seconds because everyone wants some. It has to be eaten in the company of others imo
Pizza is pizza. People talk about bad pizza but in my mind there is no bad pizza.
I dislike the bloody mess perk in Fallout. It seems to be nearly everyone's favorite but having someone explode in to gory chunks because I cut them with a switchblade takes me out of the game. Plus, it makes it unsurprising and dull when it happens. I liked in Fallout 1 and 2 how you'd get these gruesome death animations, but only rarely, more. Bloody mess was an optional trait, but it seemed clearer to people that the death animations were better as a rare "Ohhh SHIT" treat than enemies extremely commonly just bursting in to chunks at the slightest provocation.
i truly do not care about the 2016 presidential election. i know i'm going to get fucked no matter what (realistically speaking) so i have just become competely apathetic to it in all.
i truly do not care about the 2016 presidential election. i know i'm going to get fucked no matter what (realistically speaking) so i have just become competely apathetic to it in all.
The fact that you'll get fucked no matter what shouldn't be as much of a concern as whether or not the person fucking you is nice and values you
i dont think the 2016 POTUS is going to care about or value me lol
i dont think the 2016 POTUS is going to care about or value me lol
Well, their reasons might be dubious, but they want to be in charge of a stable and civilized country, and every little citizen helps them keep that. It's a group effort and they're supposed to hold you in value. That's the idea, anyways. Sometimes they don't, in which case; expect a maximum of 8 years of relentless shit.
Observer effect: It's really hard to find a marble in the dark if you're searching for it by bouncing other marbles off of it (originally I was going to point out that the uncertainty principle has a ridiculous mystique among bro-scientists but I guess the uncertainty principle and the observer effect describe slightly different things)
It's not even that, most of the shit I'm learning is just complicated-looking DEs that turn out to not have much to do with the point of the lecture which is a way to mathematically show some kind of model or w/e.

Braveheart is not a good movie
Some of the sections on FP are becoming pretty terrible. I used to think the video section was decent, but their opinions just dont match mine anymore. SH used to be funny but now its just depressing.
not your opinion =/= terrible

It's quite straightforward. The interpretation is the weird thing.
If it was ever revealed that 9/11 was an inside job, I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest.
I'd be shocked because it would imply the US government is competent enough to do it I honestly don't get conspiracy theorists. They're often the same sort of people who think that the authorities are incapable of fixing the roads, but are capable of orchestrating a giant convoluted scheme involving thousands (if not tens of thousands) of people in multiple nations and branches of governments and organisations

"The paranoids are the only ones who survive" and all that. Of course, there are also conspiracy theorists who actually suffer from paranoid personality disorder.
conspiracy theories are reality fanfiction
I don't think this election is very bad if you are a progressive/liberal/democrat. Both options seem decent. I think Clinton and Sanders both have their own sets of pros and cons.
Far Cry 3 & 4 were very 'meh' games. They are very monotonous and grindy games with very little to redeem them. Solid gunplay, interesting characters(In 3, not 4.) and exploration are fun. But after climbing my 40th tower and clearing yet another enemy camp I just want to quit. Haven't played Primal but I can't see it being any better.
Ubisoft is pretty much a shit company in general

Maybe it's due to two recent bad experiences I had with the genre (Everybody has gone to the Rapture and Firewatch), but I think that walking simulator games are starting to overstay their welcome
