if you're left-wing and use uber you are an enormous hypocrite
if you're left-wing and use uber you are an enormous hypocrite
Please explain
Please explain
If you are left-wing you presumably support strong workers rights, fair pay and fair competition. Uber provide the exact opposite by flaunting normal regulations on taxi companies as a result of not structuring themselves like a normal taxi company (and thus being easily able to undercut them) and shitting on workers rights, all while dodging enough tax to make the most ambitious multinational blush. Apparently the left are able to forget this as soon as it is done by app and they save a little pocket change.

If Uber wasn't 'high-tech' the left would be crying from the rooftops about how evil they are.
i wouldn't doubt that a considerable number of ISIS soldiers from the middle east signed up so they don't die when their homes burn down.

Uber used to seem pro worker and anti corporation and all that good jazz but over time they've looked more and more like the Wal-Mart or McDonald's of transportation.
There's rideshare companies that are better at treating their workers if you look around the app store enough.
Although i'm not a Justin Beiber fan, people really need to lay off the whole "i hope he dies" thing. That's just extreme, unneeded and immature.

ISIS is almost all foreign. By this I mean just not from Syria - many are from Saudi Arabia, or Tunisia, for example. So no, that's not correct.

while true, isis have shown interest in advancing into saudi and are close enough to at least try to do so, so i think that some would naturally go to the maniacs with guns before it's too late. at least that way they have a better chance of getting killed by being shot at, rather than a brutal execution. and as for tunisia, that place practically belongs to them at this point.

you know there's quite a lot of left-wingers that believe in a free market where competition and consumer choice should be unhindered by unnecessary things like taxation.

'unnecessary things like taxation'
'left-wing'

If you believe this you're a right-winger who hasn't realised yet.
i don't give a shit about the app or "tech" behind uber, seeing them uproot the taxi industry with 0 effort makes the left-wing economic darwinist inside me fully erect. they're the netflix to the taxi industry's blockbuster. the gutenberg printing press to biblical scribes. it's just another burst of efficiency that humanity has discovered or devised.

[editline]6th June 2016[/editline]
also context, why would what's basically a crowdsourced taxi company need to be taxed?

they're not a bank or an oil company
Drake is one of the best musicians of this generation. If someone told me that I'd have that opinion years ago I would've tossed you off a cliff, but ever since the release of If You're Reading This It's Too Late, it's gotten to the point where I even vibe to songs I used to dislike from him back in the day. There's really no music out there right now that has such an intangible spark with such atmospheric sounds.
Shot for Me, Marvin's Room, From Time, No Telling, so many of his tracks I genuinely think are classics that'll be remembered fondly 10-20+ years down the line.

i think uber needs more regulation but i can appreciate the attention it brought to the malpractices of the taxi industry

That's pretty much how I feel about Infinite but with more bullet sponges.

I dont think so. He's a slightly above mediocre pop-hop artist that hasnt released a single classic album that's had any significant impact on hip hop. IYRTITL was good but it's only so highly revered because it was such a surprise, it was a "mixtape" (priced as a full length LP) that showcased a more confident, bombastic Drake that was entirely absent on his lukewarm Nothing Was the Same. It was a welcome change on a surprisingly good record, and his tracks that came out of the beef from Meek Mill were good too, but for me, my opinion of him entirely solidified with Views. It was heralded as THE Drake album, and he had touted it as such for years of hyping up and promotion. For me it was THE Drake album, because much like the rest of his discog it was technically solid and reasonably decent, but entirely unremarkable, lukewarm, and forgettable. He releases catchy singles but that's the only notable thing hes done, to call him one of the best musicians of this generation is ridiculous.
And thats not even mentioning that he does jack shit in the production of his music. He doesn't write his own shit, uses reference tracks, and doesn't do any of his own producing. He's a pretty face and a good voice.
Why?
Well I mean I probably won't live long enough to reap the consequences of it so why should I care??

That's exactly what the people who got us into this mess say
That's exactly what the people who got us into this mess say
pretty sure it was said sarcastically
"When the rivers run dry, the last tree falls, and the only footprints in the ashes be that of man, everyone will soon realize that money doesn't taste good and procreation will become an 11th form of sin."

I loved Nothing Was The Same. It's got a few duds, but it has a load of incredible songs, Tuscan Leather, From Time, Furthest Thing, Pound Cake, etc. That being said, I do like super low key mellow Drake, and I know a lot of people don't, so that probably influences my opinions a good bit.
That is a good point that I forgot about though, should've said Drake + his production crew are some of my favorite musical folks of this generation. His production crew is absolutely phenomenal.
