Your (in)action has consequences on a scale of billions.
Am I intentionally trying to destroy the planet? No. The planet will be destroyed no matter what we do, at some point. [editline]7th June 2016[/editline]
Your (in)action has consequences on a scale of billions.
Then that's too bad. I favour isolation and will live as I please. That's just how I am. If harm to the planet is a consequence then a consequence is a consequence. You're assuming I care about all this- I really don't. Call me an asshole, but as I said I favour isolating myself and I don't want to be forced in on random things.
im gonna eat 30 pounds of food a day i mean who cares im gonna die at some point anyway
Someone with an isolation-involving mindset of course might think like this.

You're not gonna just go and "live by yourself," because I bet you're still going to be consuming the products of a global economy. You're just a selfish person. unless you're literally going to pull a primitive technology and never buy another canned good again, then you do in fact owe something back to society.
I wouldn't call this era "The Rise of Conservatism" but the "Rise of Edge" Not calling conservatives edgy, but I'm noticing a ton of fucking /pol/-esque arguments/messages spreading everywhere as a flawed auto-immune system to "Social Justice Warriors". Its not something you can place on the political compass, because its really everywhere. The idea is that everyone but you gets special treatment.
Most Subways sandwiches are gross
This is my final conclusion: - I acknowledge climate change as a problem. But, for the sake of those who prefer to isolate themselves from society and other parts of humanity, we shouldn't be forcing it on others.

Extremism is fucking annoying.

Irresponsible consumption is going to force a new dark age on every living human. I'm terribly sorry if you've been somehow inconvenienced by recycling ordinances or LED lightbulbs.
Most Subways sandwiches are gross
you insult my craft meet me out by the saloon at high noon
Game developers making the player characters nameless, faceless and voiceless so we "create the character's personality how we want to" is not something that works in every game.
you insult my craft meet me out by the saloon at high noon
I'm serious. The meat they sell is not meat. Their bacon is like a fried slice of someone's skin.
People should stop blaming "the modern game industry" for games ending up being bad and should instead look at who published or developed the game. Lately, the only two terrible companies have been Ubisoft and Konami anyways. Additionally, I personally think EA is starting to step up their game.
I'm starting to get sick of voiced protagonists in some games. Not all games, just some. like... I get it, it used to be the standard to have a silent protagonist in FPS games and such, and people started crying about how contrived and formulaic it was, but lately I think we've gone in the other direction and now every protagonist is a chatterbox, sometimes to the point that the developers don't give you much breathing room without any dialog or lines, and it becomes annoying. That's what I loved so much about Doom 2016. There is a personality behind Doomguy in that game, even if there really isn't any character or character development (which to add, I don't think you always need to make an effective theme or story in a game). You absolutely understand what Doomguy is about and what he feels just by his actions, which is much more powerful than words and dialog. I felt like Doomguy in Doom 2016 was a cooler and far more relatable protagonist than any wimpy, hyper annoying Far Cry 3/4 protagonist ever was, simply because his actions and his behavior mimics the exact same thing the player wants during the gameplay: pure destruction and carnage. When making a plot in a game, it's not about telling a story or displaying an arc. Games aren't movies. It's about tying the actions of the plot to the gameplay so that some sort of resonating emotional tone is displayed between the two. Sometimes, tying together gameplay and story means having a player character arc that can only be delivered by a voiced protagonist. That's cool, and when it's done right I enjoy it. But lately I feel like having a voiced protagonist is simply a given now, even when it enhances or adds to absolutely nothing, and can even detract from the overall experience. And just to clarify, I'm not saying every game should conform to that kind of structure and that every game suffers from voiced protagonists, but I feel like we've recently started to have so many voiced protagonists in so many games with plots when sometimes it's not exactly necessary or adds to the experience in any meaningful way.
Fallout 4 has one of the fucking worst voiced protagonists I've ever seen, but mainly because in previous Fallout games, the character WAS voiced, it was just the voice you gave your character as you read your dialogue options. You felt really connected to your character that way, and the funny lines were even funnier when you don't have the VA's comedic timing forced down your throat. Having everything voiced by a bland as fuck voice actor took all the personality out of the already dull writing and stilted conversation system.

Those annoying Tumblr types had an influence on the real world. I don't think you can really claim anymore that political developments on the Internet have no influence on the real world. As a result, the quasi-fascist alt-right will also have their own impact on the real world, which is deeply concerning. I wouldn't even call them conservatives personally, but the word conservative is very broad and difficult to pin own.

We share this planet with other countless species that'll most likely go extinct.
There should be a law that when you retire, you have to have a driving test every few years 3-5. There are way too many older people out there who are on the road and definitely shouldn't be. They are not fit to drive. I feel that having driving tests every few years for the elderly would be a good way to test them of their driving ability and also help them keep up-to-date with the forever changing laws.

I don't think it will though, since so many races would be time consuming to record.

I don't think man and woman can be just friends. To me there's always going to be some bigger interest. Even if it's subconscious.
I don't think man and woman can be just friends. To me there's always going to be some bigger interest. Basically all my irl friends are female and it works just fine. I'm physically attracted to many of them, sure, but that's not really an unhealthy thing, it's normal. There's nothing between any of us and it works great.
I don't think man and woman can be just friends. To me there's always going to be some bigger interest. Even if it's subconscious.
Being bi that would be quite a complication were it impossible for me to be friends with anyone of a gender I'm attracted to.
I'm an autist with anxiety. Do you think I care about all of society's problems/want to help combat them? I'm a loner, I don't like getting in on team efforts. Even if I was convinced to do something about this I probably wouldn't even end up taking any action.
Don't use autism and anxiety as a justification for your shitty opinions. I'm autistic and have always struggled with anxiety myself. Do you see me saying I don't give a shit? No. Because that would be retarded of me.
It's still a team effort that I'd be horrible in. I have trouble fitting in to almost anything and my efforts to actually try and stop it would end up working like dogshit anyhow.
"I don't work well with others so instead of trying to overcome my problems I'll try to justify it instead." Do you realize how idiotic you sound?
Just let me live how I want. I'm mentally fucked, and insulting me/calling me a "shitty person" for having mindsets typical of autists won't help that.
Again, quit using this as an excuse. You're hiding behind your disabilities as justification for your shit opinions. If you're going to refuse to change your shit opinions even when people point out why they're shit at least have the balls to come right out and own up to them rather than hiding behind retarded justification.
Even if you choose an isolationist attitude I doubt it would break any bones to reduce the effects of climate change. We share this planet with other countless species that'll most likely go extinct.
He's just using that attitude as a convenient excuse anyways. I'm a isolationist myself, I prefer to deal with other people as little as I can. I also don't really care if we end up destroying ourselves because people are too stupid work to prevent climate change, after all that will have been a choice we made as a society so we deserve the consequences of our (in)actions. That still doesn't mean I'm going to just go "oh, it doesn't matter so whatever" though because I'm not enough of a total retard to think that not even trying is going to help matters at all. In reality his point of view here is one of laziness and apathy and nothing else. Anxiety and isolationist behaviors are completely irrelevant to what he's trying to say. All that actually matters is that he's too lazy to be bothered taking action and doesn't give two shits about the consequences of his actions even if they negatively impact others who have done nothing wrong.
obviously you have never held a meaningful friendship with a member of the opposite sex then my best friend for over a year was a girl and as far as i know there was no sexual motivation
I do concede that much to you. I never had a meaningful friendship with a girl a my life. That lasted more than half a year at least. Apparently I really need to work on how I phrase things because it's been happening way too much. When I say a "Bigger interest". Is more in the realms of actually wanting a more romantic kind of relationship. It doesn't necessarily need to be about sex. I'm talking more about the emotional aspect of love rather than the physical aspect.
I wouldn't even call them conservatives personally, but the word conservative is very broad and difficult to pin own.
I remember listening to one right-wing philosopher speaking in a podcast, and he said "in order to be a conservative, you have to be willing to conserve something" - the "something" in question being traditional values and social order. Once I began viewing conservatism through that perspective, it became a lot easier to understand and respect.
grape and orange are the worst artificial flavors in existence
Orange artificial flavor is something I can't live without.
