Why would you ever think backing up your info with a source is bullshit?
I'm not saying that backing your info up is bullshit, I'm saying enforcing it as a rule when contributing updates is bullshit.
I'm tired of those "Prey for XXX","Je suis XXX" on social networks, changing your profile picture with a semi-transparent layer of a flag on FB. Especially after terrorist attacks and people thinking it will improve the situation and spreading messages of "peace" when blood gets spilled every 10 months.

There's a good reason for it. It avoids those "thing totally happened true story" kind of posts
I don't get the hate for cargo shorts. They're pretty damn useful at times, too.
They look shit.
They've got a bad reputation because they're the leg-garment of choice for fat weebs
Dark Souls isn't that good. Visually and content wise yes, but not gameplay.
Not sure I'd say Dark Souls isn't good because a ton of people obviously like it, but it's definitely not for me. I'm just not a fan of games where enemies have ridiculous amounts of health and take forever to kill, it gets too repetitive for me after a while. I have the same problem with Monster Hunter. EDIT: Maybe I'm just bad at Dark Souls idk

Even the hardest bosses don't take very long to kill as long as your weapon is upgraded.
Dark Souls isn't that good. Visually and content wise yes, but not gameplay.
Dark Souls, the game, is actually one of my least favorite Souls games Demon's Souls or Bloodborne are way better
Birdman isn't overrated and totally deserved to win best picture.
I stand by my opinion that Whiplash should have won
Ghostbusters 2 is an awesome movie.
Ghostbusters 2 is a shitty cash grab of a sequel. still love it tho.
pokemon go is a fucking stupid idea
Ghostbusters in general was never that good.
pokemon go is a fucking stupid idea
its a great idea, just a bad execution
The internet as a whole can sometimes feel really circlejerky around certain bits of entertainment. Its like if you say something that goes against the stream its like a whole bunch of wasps will come out to sting you.
pokemon go is a fucking stupid idea
The idea is there but the execution is horrible if you ask me.
Ghostbusters in general was never that good.
I absolutely agree. There are a lot of 80s/90s movies like that which have become cultural cornerstones, and I have no idea why.
ratings on facepunch are terrible and breed a shitty echo chamber
ratings on facepunch are terrible and breed a shitty echo chamber
would be best if only the receiver could see them (and not the names of the raters)
Ghostbusters in general was never that good.
No matter if it was good or not, it filled an empty space with a perfect idea which the movie world is all about; the creation of worlds that differs from us, or reality from another point of view. It's good to see something different in the industry.
The internet as a whole can sometimes feel really circlejerky around certain bits of entertainment.
ratings on facepunch are terrible and breed a shitty echo chamber
As opposed to Reddit's system where the more popular a post is the more visible it is which totally doesn't serve as an actual echo chamber since dissenting opinions get buried due to downvotes.
I never claimed reddit was any better. Personally, I just dislike ratings period.
As opposed to Reddit's system where the more popular a post is the more visible it is which totally doesn't serve as an actual echo chamber since dissenting opinions get buried due to downvotes.
I agree with you but he never made any implications about reddit at all all rating systems serve to condition a user's reaction to content. it encourages groupthink and social chain reactions which are caustic to critical thought.
I never claimed reddit was any better. Personally, I just dislike ratings period.
You're kinda missing my point. Reddit's system actually does serve as an echo chamber. If FP's rating system serves as an echo chamber it's an extremely shoddy one since it does absolutely nothing to actually censor dissenting opinions. It simply marks them for people to read. And that kinda means it's inherently not an echo chamber since you can still very easily see those dissenting opinions. [editline]16th July 2016[/editline]
I agree with you but he never made any implications about reddit at all
I never said he was either. I was using it as an example to prove my point, though I could have made that a bit more clear.
I absolutely agree. There are a lot of 80s/90s movies like that which have become cultural cornerstones, and I have no idea why.
They are cultural cornerstones because they changed how people made movies when they came out. Like Die Hard, it's not really anything groundbreaking these days, but that's because every action film since has ripped it off in some way. We don't get why because we weren't there. And really, you can say that about movies from any decade.
I'm getting really sick of seeing pokemon shit everywhere I go
The Overwatch origin videos get an A for effort, but they were too clichéd and "wholesome" to fully enjoy.
