Removing ratings from SH was a great idea. Now we don't have pages of people falling for ratings trolls and far less zingers for zingers sake.
didn't really help on all the shitposting
Removing ratings from SH was a great idea. Now we don't have pages of people falling for ratings trolls and far less zingers for zingers sake.
I never really thought that was a problem at all though.
didn't really help on all the shitposting
eh what can you do in all honesty? to control that you'd basically reduce it down to people making boring posts with broad sweeping statements everyone can agree with
there was a point in time in sh where nearly every post on the first page of any given thread was "shitty joke/pun but seriously, [mundane comment about topic]" now that ratings are gone the retards who did that shit are mostly discouraged by the lack of emoji tokens
Okay? I still really don't have a problem with that.
You mean the people that are laughing at him? Or calling him out? I'd agree that there are more people listening to him, but it's much smaller than you might think
This is small? That's over half the Clinton voters. How could you possibly see these results as a "strong dislike" [editline]20th July 2016[/editline]
https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1526348&p=50688288&viewfull=1#post50688288 I mean, I legit would mind actual counterpoints instead of comments like that
Try reading that thread in full
The whole "mods editing thread titles to make ~snarky~ comments" thing has gotten a bit old, and comes off as a bit petty sometimes. Doesn't help that nine times out of ten it breaks the thread icons.
Kinda annoys me how about every single thread about No Man's Sky gets edited. The negative circlejerk around this game is just ridiculous.
the thing with shit like this is it basically just takes a broad and abstract sociological concept and then completely misuses it. dude takes it as a personal slight and goes off on long rants while tpain did the equivalent of nodding and saying "yup" while looking to his audience and shaking his head ironically enough, tpain was in a similar position to the guy and was the only one to actually offer him any decent advice after his big personal rantings. of course you don't get posts like that nowadays, SH and the like feel much less diverse than they used to be
you can't really argue in sensationalist headlines anymore for that very same reason, and more. Here's several ways to argue in Sensationalist Headlines
1. Drive-by shittalks about the spooky boogeyman SJWs or make a generally inflammatory or incorrect comment supported by the majority of people who go on Sensationalist Headlines. Don't bother debating your point, someone else will debate it for you. 2. Have several RationalWiki pages open while lurking Sensationalist Headlines, find someone you disagree with and start screaming like a child when you think that someone mentions a fallacy. 3. Assume the worst in the person you're arguing with. Assume that statements like "I support Bernie Sanders" means that you're a socialist communist anarchist neo-feminist. (Obviously this hasn't happened before on FP [I HOPE], but there are a ton of cases where people just assume the absolute worst in people.) 4. Find people who initially disagreed with one another who then later agreed with each other. Call the person who originally disagreed a "backpedaler" because "backpedaler" means anyone who changed their mind about something, and not running away from the issue. 5. Make a conspiracy theory without any proof. People will still eat this up, it helps if you involve Social Justice Warriors in the conspiracy theory. Ignore all the people asking for proof or evidence this is a thing. 6. Find an emotional idiot. Point out the fact that he's an emotional idiot, and ignore everything he and everyone else has ever said. Do your best to prove his point wrong on the basis that he's an emotional idiot. Others will flock to this idiot and also echo the same bullshit that you are saying about this person. 7. Prove that the person is wrong, not that his points are wrong. Bring up ban history, pring up post history, bring up anything that would make him look like a fool. Ignore the points he makes, just prove the person wrong. 8. If all else fails, act like a child. Spew insults. Call people children. Test the waters and see the kind of shit you get away with saying. Again, Attack the person, not the points.
This removes diversity. Normal people wouldn't even want to debate in these conditions. It's literally a shit flinging fest filled with people who are angry over everything. You're left with ideologies that are fueled by anger.
This is small? That's over half the Clinton voters. How could you possibly see these results as a "strong dislike"
Not really using it in terms of strong dislike. More that there are less people supporting him than you think
Try reading that thread in full
Yes, a thread with plenty of people saying they don't mind women in the military as long as they are being held to the same standards as men
there was a point in time in sh where nearly every post on the first page of any given thread was "shitty joke/pun but seriously, [mundane comment about topic]" now that ratings are gone the retards who did that shit are mostly discouraged by the lack of emoji tokens
I wonder if someone will make a seperate news section on newpunch, with ratings back, that overshadows SH for that fact alone :v:
Kinda annoys me how about every single thread about No Man's Sky gets edited. The negative circlejerk around this game is just ridiculous.
It's the new Gone Home.
Yeah as someone who's been pretty apathetic to the game, all the vitriol I see about No Man's Sky seems like "PEOPLE ARE REALLY EXCITED FOR IT AND I'M NOT SO I NEED TO ACTIVELY SHIT ON IT EVERY TIME IT'S MENTIONED" Like shit man, just because you're not buying into the hype doesn't mean you need to be a dick about it. Sure the game may seem lacking but why do people think that gives them a pass to be stupidly hostile about it?
when did this no man sky hate even start?
The amount of hate Pokemon Go is getting with literally no fucking reason aside from "cell phones are bad".
when incomplete sentences become a meme
when did this no man sky hate even start?
It just seems to me like they made an exploration game, and told people it was an exploration game, and everyone for some reason thought it was going to be way more than it is and now they're mad that it's not what they thought it was going to be.
Blizzard makes good games, but they can't write dialogue to save their lives.
Chicken is one of the most boring meats to work with in culinary.
Blizzard makes good games, but they can't write dialogue to save their lives.
Just lore/story in general they really haven't been able to put together very well ever since the end of warcraft 3 I'd say. Not that starcraft, warcraft 3, etc. were super deep, but they were decently competent and were memorable.
Then you're just boring
I agree on the map thing and kind of hate omega maps but I really wonder why do you like items? They just break the flow of the game and are pure bullshit.
I actually like the Noah movie
They just break the flow of the game and are pure bullshit.
do people actually think this
Multiplayer games where you don't respawn until the end of the whole round just never, ever works for me. I want to keep playing, not get scoped by an elitist player, and then just watch everyone else play for 5 minutes. This is one of the reasons why I can't stand Counter Suck: Source. Apart from the fact that that game attracts people with the nastiest personalities. It's even worse when said games have friendly fire.
do people actually think this
A lot of people typically hate it when they lose because something out of their control cost them the game/round/etc.
The important thing is that you have fun [editline]21st July 2016[/editline] I think people "hating" pokemon go is so miniscule and it's just being blown out of proportion so people have something new to get angry about.
Sure but winning adds to the fun, losing takes from it
A lot of people typically hate it when they lose because something out of their control cost them the game/round/etc.
the flow of a smash bro games is the items lmao, i can't even imagine playing without them on.
Sure but winning adds to the fun, losing takes from it
It honestly depends. I can have fun losing if it was a close game. But like I said, it sucks when you lose because somebody got an item that restored all their health or you get instantly killed by something like a random crit.
It honestly depends. I can have fun losing if it was a close game. But like I said, it sucks when you lose because somebody got an item that restored all their health or you get instantly killed by something like a random crit.
Oh yeah, skill based games can still be fun Chance based games though? Fuck I rage so bad
the flow of a smash bro games is the items lmao, i can't even imagine playing without them on.
I usually don't like items in Smash games because I feel like slower characters are generally at a disadvantage since they can't dash and grab them as quickly.
Yeezus is a great album
Yeezus is a great album
808s and Heartbreak is better than Yeezus.
I don't really like Elon Musk.
808s and Heartbreak is better than Yeezus.
boy thats his worst album its still great but its the one i enjoy the least. i know 808s is super influential and also has a lot more significance to kanye himself but i prefer the furious, industrial, experimental style that yeezus just spills, even if its his weakest album lyrically
