The two best parts of Gaim were the fact that it had the pacing of a one-cours show for fifty episodes. The pace in Gaim was ridiculous, particularly compared to the often sluggish seasons that preceeded it.
The other best part was whenever Urobuchi forgot he wasn't writing an anime and constructed scenes that looked absolutely ridiculous in live-action but would be perfectly fine in an anime.
