He said "where did the good parts from zero go", a statement that is stupid and illogical, the aspects of zero he mention do not exist within FATE/STAY NIGHT, because it predates zero and wasn't written the same way. I don't care if he doesn't like it, or if anybody doesn't like it.
I do however care about him using the wrong arguments, criticizing it for things that are BIGGER PROBLEMS in zero, and judging it as a sequel to zero, which the creators said not to do for the exact reason of "people going into it wanting more zero are going to be mad"
And he still went in expecting zero and complains that it isn't zero, when it was never fucking going to be zero and isn't trying to be. what does how new the anime have to be matter, it's a new adaption of an old source material, following quite closely.
the fate zero anime predates this but the book does not, and since they both follow the source closely nothing fucking changes. Zero is a prequel made to be seen or read after you already know the original, I know a lot of people don't see it that way but zero is predetermined tragedy, it's not about intrigue or what characters are going to do next. It's about seeing how the events that fate/stay eluded to played out in full, that's why it has no central main character and jumps between all of them, something an adaption of a visual novel that has scenes exclusively in the main characters point of view can never do; it's asking the impossible.
