99% of my hype is for Gatchaman

Which show?
Also man, I sure would like to watch Gatchaman or NNB but I need to finish the first season of the latter and start the first season of the former.
Which show?
Outbreak Company

I've got like 15 shows that I'm definitely going to at least start on and I'll probably drop some and pick up others along the way
Outbreak Company
That show was pretty good tho?
That show was pretty good tho?
Plus it was a comedy and not an action.
That show was pretty good tho?
Hmm.. Synopsis looks interesting, but at this day and age my gut reaction tells me this is a plotlesss slice of life with fanservice. The parody genre is what makes me interested in seeing what it has to offer...
I'm surprised Overlord got an anime but not Mushoku Tensei. I guess Japan finally realizes the power of skeletons.

Overlord's gonna be fun. Rarely see such anti-heroes as the main protagonist in this series.
I'll definitely watch Non Non Biyori, Working!!! and, despite having relatively low expectations, the Love Live move. These are the only things I've been looking forward to.
I may watch Charlotte, Venus Project and anything else that FA recommends.
No, stop. Every single time I see somebody say "where did the good parts of fate/zero go" I suffer real pain, fate zero came out after fate/stay night goddammit stop doing this, it can't be fate zero because it was NEVER FATE/ZERO. Also fate/zero is worse than fate/stay night! (if we take fate as a whole of three routes and disregard the deen anime)
funny you should complain about it being mostly talking when zero was also mostly talking. and no, you are not experiencing a full fledged story, you're experiencing literally a third of it as it's based on one route from the visual novel.
Not every servant gets focused on in UBW, because the route is not about them, Berserker is a major threat in the fate route, as is Rider. As much as I like UBW it doesn't hold up super well as standalone, and since there is no fate/route anime (at least not one worth watching) a lot of it can seem weird or pointless.
Fate/zero is a LIGHT NOVEL, it has one storyline and no branching points at all so adapting it works out better. fate/stay night is always told in the perspective of the leads, fate zero is not. If they tried to make this like fate/zero you'd turn it into a shitfest of anime original scenes while we watch characters who do not work well as villains when they're not hidden in the backdrop doing things.
F/SN is a shounen action series, zero is meant to be a fucking PREDETERMINED TRAGEDY. they are fundamentally different series to the point that ufotable told people on twitter before ubw came out, to not treat it as a sequel to zero.
hold on hold on hold on...
Time for a dgg style dissection:
Firstly,
No, stop. Every single time I see somebody say "where did the good parts of fate/zero go" I suffer real pain, fate zero came out after fate/stay night goddammit stop doing this, it can't be fate zero because it was NEVER FATE/ZERO.
So Fate/Stay Night can't have better characters, writing and themes because it came out earlier? Nothing can be done during the recent anime adaptation to try and fix that? More on this later.
Also fate/zero is worse than fate/stay night! (if we take fate as a whole of three routes and disregard the deen anime)
Why do I need to invest 70 hour on a visual novel to be able to say that one anime adaptation is better than the adaptation of the material the happens after (chronologically)? If the visual novel is so good, then why am I not enjoying UBW as much as I did F/Z?
funny you should complain about it being mostly talking when zero was also mostly talking. and no, you are not experiencing a full fledged story, you're experiencing literally a third of it as it's based on one route from the visual novel.
Why the hell shouldn't I expect a fully fledged story? This isn't a still on-going manga/light novel. This isn't a series that producers are uncertain will be successful. Was there no way to adapt this to be it's own self-contained story about [sp]a boy confronting his idealised self?[/sp]. Both series can be quite verbose but F/Z was writen so much more tightly. When people have to have a tête-à-tête, it's meaningful and adds flavour to the characters and/or helps them develop. Half the dialogue in UBW is about how Shirou is wrong about how he lives his life but it takes so long to get anywhere. [sp]It's episode 20, and the pattern hasn't changed. Shirou does something stupid because he has a hard-on for self-destructive heroism and the other characters (all of them) call him out on that. They take time out of fighting to try to sit Shirou down and lambast him but Shirou goes lalalalala and they fight again...promptly resulting in Shirou losing and having to be saved. Slow character development is fine but this is glacial[/sp]
Not every servant gets focused on in UBW, because the route is not about them, Berserker is a major threat in the fate route, as is Rider. Not every character needs to have their entire story revealed but the way they're dealt with here is just cruel. The times when [sp]it diverged from source material and decided to reveal a bit about Caster and Ilya were very welcome. Otherwise, their departure from the story would have been even more absurdly abrupt.[/sp] Let's use F/Z as a comparison. It has the same number of episodes but it manages to juggle far more characters. Not every character is given in-depth treatment (thought F/Z's 3, Kiritsugu, Kirei and Waver, is already a step up from UBW's 2, Shirou and maybe Tohsaka but lately she's been a prop rather than a character) but they're given enough development for people to feel like they're characters. Who is Rider and Berserker? Who is Kirei and Gilgamesh - you know - the guy who's meant to be the big baddie. If you want to know, too bad. You have to read the 70h visual novel and/or watch F/Z...except you're not meant to think of F/Z as a direct prequel? It's damn shame because the Heroic Spirits have always been the most interesting part of the Fate series and the only one they're interested in in UBW (or at least feel compelled to focus on) is Archer who is basically meant to be Mr. Angsty-pants.
Fate/zero is a LIGHT NOVEL, it has one storyline and no branching points at all so adapting it works out better. fate/stay night is always told in the perspective of the leads, fate zero is not. So what? If there was no way to have a good adaptation of Fate/Stay Night (which I doubt, it'll only be harder) then why bother apart from cynical profiteering? Why not have 39 episodes and have the three routes one after the other Groundhog Day style with [sp]Archer as a connecting point[/sp], kinda the way it's meant to be played? The series as it is has fluff that they can surely excise. Or why not change the material and/or themes a bit so that it can wrap up with no extraneous characters? It won't be easy without shattering the lore but I can't honestly say that being a slave to the lore at the expense of at tightly-written, self-contained story is a good trade off.
F/SN is a shounen action series, zero is meant to be a fucking PREDETERMINED TRAGEDY. they are fundamentally different series to the point that ufotable told people on twitter before ubw came out, to not treat it as a sequel to zero.
That's no excuse for why the UBW is as bad a series as it is (as it stands). Maybe the pretentious themes can't be helped. Maybe the disposability of the characters can't be helped. Maybe. I don't believe it. But issues with pacing in the last few episodes. The narrow focus on Shirou...on of the less interesting characters in the series. These are surely issues that this adaptation could have got right. At the start, it looked promising with a whole episode with Tohsaka as well as her overall development but now she's been taken out of the picture so Shirou can sort of his feelings. [sp]Tohsaka just found out that Kirei killed her father and all that gets is a few angry words out of her[/sp].
The whole not being able to compare UBW and F/Z is idiotic. I was excited for UBW because I really like F/Z. "They adapted something from Type-Moon well! Let's hope they do it again!" Was I wrong for thinking that? Even if UBW is slavishly following the route in the visual route (except it's not because it takes liberties which actually help), there's no reason why I can't call the series out on it's bullshit and say that F/Z did it better. I wanted to refrain from commenting on UBW until the last episodes but I can at least say this much. By episode 20 of F/Z, I cared much more (or at least felt like I knew more) about more of the characters than I did by episode 20 of UBW. I was bored fewer times in F/Z and I rolled my eyes less when the series decided to wax lyrical about it's themes and philosophies. F/Z is also a much richer show. There are more themes being explored; more than one per pair. There's Kiritsugu's ideals, Kirei's mentality, Kariya's quest, Waver's coming-of-age, the banquet of kings and tied to that, Saber's ideas of chivalry, and more. UBW basically only has Shirou's hero complex. And even something as simple as the fight scenes, F/Z is deeper. Both series has great fight animation but when the Servants (and Masters) fight in F/Z, there's a deeper meaning; Saber and Lancer's code of chivalry, Archer and Rider's confrontation, the meaning behind Saber and Berserker's fights, even Kiritsugu and Kayneth's old magecraft vs unconventional magic battles. In contrast, the Servants in UBW fight because it's their job, they have to protect their masters and beat the others to win, with nothing else going on. I reiterate, in the SAME NUMBER OF EPISODES, F/Z has more meaningful and enjoyable things than UBW does.

Oh shit Grisaia no Kajitsu is out on steam this Friday. Hopefully that means Meikyuu isn't too far off, since they had most of their work for Kajitsu done already by the people that did the fan translation.

You say that, but there's a CG world in this show where the models are all second life/Gmod like.
Also there's an improvised scene every episode. Freaking improv anime.
It even has Kamen Rider http://i.imgur.com/6XDZUui.jpg
