Just finished watching all of the Kara no kyoukai movies, watched the 2 specials and that extra movie too. 5 was my favorite for sure followed shortly by 7.
I really wish the 6th movie wasn't so weak compared to the rest though.
it's that time of the week again, time for boku girl ch64 LiveTL this week we get [sp]confusion, internal suffering and girlier tomboy mizuki[/sp]
Are the Live Action versions of Manga/Anime usually good/bad? cause I'd love to watch something like that
They are B movie quality, take it for what you will. [editline]26th May 2015[/editline]
I expect proper voice acting. The kind of voice acting you can find in movies, and well, from actors. The Big O looks like a snore fest from what I've seen of it.
S1 is pretty slow and episodic*, S2 picks up steam but the "ending" blows.
S1 is pretty slow and episodic*, S2 picks up steam but the "ending" blows.
I wouldn't call season 1 slow just because it's episodic. Season 2's ending's quality depends on how you receive the weird meta stuff and the fact that they were supposed to have a third season and wrote most of the season with that in mind before they had to work out an ending. [editline]27th May 2015[/editline] You have to basically decide for yourself what the hell the finale meant.

Most of the episodes nothing really starts hitting the fan till the last few minutes. I thought the S2 finale was that way because they were expecting a S3 that never came to be.
Are the Live Action versions of Manga/Anime usually good/bad? cause I'd love to watch something like that
Ichi the Killer and Old Boy are pretty good
the live action Kaiji movie was alright
i remember enjoying the death note live action movie especially ryuuk
The Blue Blazes/Aoi Honoo tv series is top-tier, go watch that.
forgot about that one, it's pretty good. the manga is probably undoubtedly better though. weird thing about it tho, they for some reason added a blur to the girls faces [t]http://i3.minus.com/ibhQLutGz2Z5bz.png[/t]
Finished Hyougemono. I've got no real reason to rate it anything below a 10.
Are the Live Action versions of Manga/Anime usually good/bad? cause I'd love to watch something like that
Hataraki Man live action is better than the anime in my opinion because it's longer episodes, better written stories and a better finale. Live action Cromartie starts off the same, but branches out to some pretty funny stuff that isn't in the anime. Live action Itazura na Kiss is super awkward so that works if you dig that. Can't compare to anime since I haven't seen it. Live action Lupin III is pretty weird, but it works. Live action Tokyo Tribes 2 (this version is called Tokyo Tribe) is a fun, insane movie so there's that. Visually intriguing. And of course there's live action GARO which the anime is based on, that being super awesome. I got screenshots for most of these if you want to see what the visual style is for them (some WebM's as well), so just give the word. [editline]26th May 2015[/editline]
the manga is probably undoubtedly better though.
I don't know about that. I love Kazuhiko Shimamoto just like any other guy, but word is Yuichi Fukuda did a lot of changes that made it better. Sadly the manga is still untranslated last I checked so I can't confirm that. Yuichi Fukuda works are freaking great though.
I hate it when the names for episodes are either too long or they have different ones for different parts in the episode like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Daily_Lives_of_High_School_Boys_episodes Trying to name them is impossible.
And who exactly mentions the episodes names to begin with? "that episode when ***" is the common way of referring to episodes.
"for some reason" To make their skin silky smooth and pretty of course.
yeah, but why
"for some reason" To make their skin silky smooth and pretty of course. And who exactly mentions the episodes names to begin with? "that episode when ***" is the common way of referring to episodes.
I never said it was for conversations, it's for naming them.
yeah, but why
Because it is mandatory for every Japanese actor to have the smoothest skin possible.
because it is kawaiier
Because Japan is also a valid answer.
today's Euphonium was beautiful loved it [editline]26th May 2015[/editline] but I guess [sp]the /u/phonium dream is as good as dead, isn't it ? [/sp] [editline]26th May 2015[/editline] I want it to happen but damn
i feel like it shouldn't annoy me as much as it does when people use dub pronunciations of names in conversations i overhear
i feel like it shouldn't annoy me as much as it does when people use dub pronunciations of names in conversations i overhear
I never understood why they change names in dubs anyway
I never understood why they change names in dubs anyway
"our english voice actors/viewers are too dumb to know how to pronounce these japanese names"
"our english voice actors/viewers are too dumb to know how to pronounce these japanese names"
but they almost never change the titles so we're saying words like pokemon just fine but they're calling the lead character ash ketchum instead of satoshi ironically the only times the titles ever change for licensed versions is with things that never get a dub
but they almost never change the titles so we're saying words like pokemon just fine but they're calling the lead character ash ketchum instead of satoshi
localization, normal dubs nowadays tend not to do this since it's unnecessary, but shows dubbed for kids channels are the ones that are the biggest offenders for that digimon had some of the dumbest though, they changed the one girl's name from her original japanese name to a different, still japanese name
yeah but digimon was a dumb show in general
yeah but digimon was a dumb show in general
Still better than pokemon
I never understood why they change names in dubs anyway
"alright, the name is arra... agi... Johnny."
"alright, the name is arra... agi... Johnny."
*monogatari dubbed by 4kids
"alright, the name is arra... agi... Johnny."
senjougahara is renamed to sally
yeah but digimon was a dumb show in general
Hey man, digimon holds up way better than pokemon does. tamers only season worth mentioning though.
I never said it was for conversations, it's for naming them.
You would name them for yourself? Why?
yeah, but why
To make their skin silky smooth and pretty of course.
