It's very well drawn normal scenery but it's still normal scenery. It's not terribly interesting.

Working my way through Eva at a solid pace. I noticed that the ED gets higher and higher in pitch and started joking to myself that it was becoming nightcore. Then the joke became real when they added a bad drum loop in episode 17 and I'm wondering how broken the ED will be at the finale
My favourite part of Eva's budget collapsing was how Anno originally planned to film and broadcast himself apologising for not being able to finish the show into a camera.

Shit, I finally figured out what story archetype I really enjoy. Shows where people find their passion in life like BECK, Initial D, and Hajime no Ippo. Anyone got more shows that fit into this strange little category? I've heard Bakuman might be something like that.
