Yeah, it just is what it is. "people have powers, what more do you need to know?" is the gist of it. It just cares about telling the story, not putting any fundamental knowledge behind the world itself.

so im watching the dub of ghost stories for the shits and giggles, but like, it actually has some half decent horror elements to it in all honesty, it manages to actually be unnerving, but not just gorey and ham fisted

Paprika for sure, Satoshi Kon's Perfect Blue is a little more difficult, Mind Game is also a great film, but again, difficult

Some of the concepts put into the show is really well thought out for a kids terror show, but it was executed so bad
