For some reason Working!! is making me want to pursue my second dream, drop out and become a chef at some restaurant.
I don't think there's been a single episode of Koufuku Graffiti where I haven't looked at the somewhat over-the-top foodgasms and gone "Fuckin' SHAFT."
For me, the problem with Koufuku graffiti is that it's really got no semblance of a plot. It's structured like a cooking show with some light dressing around it. It's not bad because it was badly made, it's bad because it just isn't interesting.
Checking in to say I got through Part 2 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
I'm really enjoying it. My brother wants us to watch Part 3 together, so I'm trying to find a new show to watch in the meantime.
EDIT: Oh right I'm supposed to watch Log Horizon next. I promised a friend.
Watch Part 3 then? There's over 30 episodes out so far, when you guys catch up just make Fridays JoJo's Fridays or something
So Rolling girls happened and failed at what ever it was trying to do. By the end of the 12 episodes, we were no closer to understanding any of the characters in any meaningful way. Both things that should be revelations and character turns get handwaved away like they aren't important and not worth the time. Why did anyone do anything and what did they achieve? Let it be an example of why writing is so important for every show. No matter how you feel a show should be propped up (flashy animation, fan service, referential humour, etc), you really need solid - not even necessarily good - writing or everything feels flat.

Glad I dropped it then, shame.
I didn't even finish the first episode, i was just like wtf is happening
I didn't even finish the first episode, i was just like wtf is happening
"I don't know what's going on" is a pretty shit reason to drop something one episode in.

I almost stopped watching Madoka because the beginning was so..oh I guess girly? I mean c'mon. Little girl, happy family, that fucking toast-in-the-mouth thing.

Her dream that was a foreshadow of the future was really the thing that kept me in it. Thankfully so.
"I don't know what's going on" is a pretty shit reason to drop something one episode in.
Not really when you consider how much other stuff there is to watch or do than watch something that you neither understand the concept of or enjoy watching.
And now people are saying they are glad they dropped it and that it was bad, so was I really wrong?
Also consider that not knowing wtf is going on as a characteristic of a first episode of a show is pretty bad. The first episode is supposed to hook you in some way, and it didn't hook me.
Verbal tics are fucking obnoxious in the first place. Particularly when they end every fucking sentence or phrase with it.
i used to hate it but now I laugh my ass off every time I hear poi or nanodesu
yeah
"I don't know what's going on" is a pretty shit reason to drop something one episode in.
I would probably have dropped Steins;Gate if I had this reasoning.
lol, it wasn't like it was literally the only reason that I stopped watching it. I also just didn't like or see potential of me enjoying it from what I did get.
I only said that reason just cuz I thought it was comedic and relateable as a response to someone else who thought the writing was bad
Just finished Rolling Girls myself and personally I absolutely loved it. Never once did I find it uninteresting but I guess that's just me.
Just finished Rolling Girls. It was a really fun show, barely made any sense in some areas but it wasn't trying to be much more than a goofy energetic fun ride. Anybody looking for anything more than that is misguided.
They never used Kaiji's OP for a insert song though so my final rating is 0/10.
So I finally got around to finishing Kancolle, all I retained from this experience is this~poi

All I can imagine about that character is that she's some sort of special needs child that's watched a lot of Pokemon and can now say only her name.
I don't think rolling girls is perfect but damn if I didn't have a really good time watching it, it's just so fun.
Man the spring anime lineup looks pretty bad
Finished Rolling Girls
It was a pleasant watch, good over-the-top flashy animation with lots of vibrant colours and imagery. Just a show about people strolling through life, helping others and discovering their way of life and in the process learning more about themselves and what they want to do. The whole power stone idea was pretty neat thanks to the little twist at the end [sp]it didn't give any powers at all, it was spawned because they had powers to begin with, the power of being passionate about something. Their strength was their own, it came from training hard, trying to achieve their goal (as seen twice near the end and at the final episode with Ai Hibiki, the tall pink glutton girl[/sp], I mean it was obvious that the stones fell from the sky because of the people, but the reasoning was delightfully different than expected, I think I will enjoy that twist more and more as I think about it, it didn't really leave that much of an impression when it was revealed, but then upon reflection I like it more every time.
It's kinda like if Kino no Tabi and Mushishi had a child in Kyousogiga. It's got all that colorful wacky action setting that you can see in Kyousogiga, but the actual story and way the show unfolds is more of a Mushishi/Kino way.
7/10

I'm not sure how it failed at depicting people living their lives one day at a time and in the process learning more about themselves and what they want to do with their lives.
They did what they did because it's what they believed was the right thing to do. Both the "evil" and "good" guys (not actually such a thing in the show) had the same set of reasonings.
The show literally spelt out the meaning of the show and it's name through the narrator, I'm not sure there was that much to miss about the intention of the show.
If you think of it as a show like Kino no Tabi or Mushishi instead of an action show, or something like Kyousogiga you'll probably understand the show a bit better. It's not about the action or any overarching plot, it's about people and how they live.
Man the spring anime lineup looks pretty bad
only interesting tv anime is the kyoani brass anime, but that could easily be shit if the focus is bad. Lupin might be cool too.
I'm really hoping Rolling Girls gets an OVA.
In one episode the have a small travel montage where they're shown going into a town with two warring Bests, and it's skipped entirely. This was a arc cut for time, and all of the actual work like concept art and planning and such for it are already done. If they were going to do an OVA, it'd basically just be a two-episode extra arc that slots neatly in and wouldn't be very hard to make.
[editline]30th March 2015[/editline]
nintendo-guy are you going to rate every single post with the word "rolling girls" in it because you hate fun
Man the spring anime lineup looks pretty bad
I'm okay with this, we've had tons of great stuff in the winter. As of now I'm interested in watching only 3 shows, so it's a great opportunity to do something about my backlog. I still have stuff like NGNL or Chaika unfinished.

Stuff that might be cool this coming spring season:
Fate/Stay night S2
Lupin III (2015) (fuck title names like this, lazy shits)
Danna ga Nani o Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken 2-sure-me (short)
Stuff I might watch if it gets positive reception 3-4 eps in if I can remember caring about it:
Hibike! Euphonium (looks like shit, but who knows, maybe Kyoani will someday become good again)
Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu
Ore Monogatari (that ladyboy fucking looks like the Chihayafuru guy so fucking much it annoys the shit out of me)
Owari no Seraph (sound stupid enough to work, but also stupid enough to avoid, also director debut)
gintama is all you need
it's probably two cour at best though

I would say that the F/S N adaption has been coming along swimmingly. Definitely made me scream like a girl when I found out that the last episode was an hour long.

The coming season remains the same for me.
Arslan Senki (it's LIDEN FILMS, also may not be awful)
Danna ga Nani 2 (yes)
Kekkai Sensen (it's Bones, adapting a Nightow manga)
Lupin III 2015 (though I should actually watch the first three parts beforehand)
Ninja Slayer (it's Trigger)
Owari no Seraph (gambit choice, also Sawano doing music)
Show By Rock!! ("gambit choice", it's Bones, also Rahkshi decided he'd watch it so he shall not suffer alone)
