Death Note is probably the best entertainment you can find in anime until that certain episode. Easy to get into straight from episode 1.

Yeah that is a pretty good marathon show due to its exceptionally strong start. Shame the show gets weaker as time goes on as it stops being able to exploit the death note in novel ways.
I have to say though space dandy has a pretty brilliant parody of groundhog day on episode 10.
