yeah i'm sure they would sell a lot more blu-rays if they stopped making school seem so interesting
Aye, but wouldn't they sell more if they mixed it up a little more? "My teacher is wonderful. My childhood friend goes to school with me. people make me bentos. The sun is always shining. A bunch of girls like me an awfuly unreasonable amount. I get asked on dates often by embarased girls. My best friend is funny and wears glasses but never tries to hone in on my women; Because his mother beats him bloody every time he even looks at another woman. Also I made the last teacher who I didn't like hang himself in this very classroom."
Ore Monogatari knows exactly how to break up a serious mood. [sp]That doctor puking after the surgery from Takeo spinning his head around so much was hilarious, and then the mom and sister do it again. That was a great way to diffuse the seriousness of the surgery.[/sp]
I would watch punchline if I hadn't already been told that [sp]the mc is a lady[/sp] also I'm starting to consider samurai champloo as the best anime I've ever watched
I would watch punchline if I hadn't already been told that [sp]the mc is a lady[/sp] also I'm starting to consider samurai champloo as the best anime I've ever watched
I'm going to specify that that's like an episode seven spoiler. You should specify when your spoilers take place in currently airing series.
It confuses me how The Japanese seem to polarize school life. It's either the greatest thing ever, the springtime of youth, a fountain of love an happiness... Is it some thing of "well I've been spoiled for one thing so I may as well not watch it"? Or is it "[sp]I'm morally opposed to lesbians[/sp]"? Because there's also some extra stuff surrounding that matter.

I especially don't remember that bit. So it's like i've seen it but it was still a spoiler. Unless it wasn't episode 7 and was actually episode 8 or something don't anime under the influence also ore monogatari is still pumpin out the awesome
So a new Nyaruko OVA is out, and in the first like 3 minutes they parody a bunch of the popular idol shows. I do think that Love-craft Live would be an interesting one.
New Nyaruko OVA? Today just got a bit better.
what does kekkai have to do with punchline?
hmm. I am so confused. I keep getting those two mixed up for some reason. I was even going to say that I keep getting them mixed up in that post, but then I didn't cuz I thought it was dumb that I kept getting them mixed up and then I went and got them mixed up in the post anyway This all makes a lot more sense now.:suicide: So I guess I spoiled part of that show for myself now since I was only on episode 2 of it. Oh well I will still watch it, dunno why that other guy won't. [editline]4th June 2015[/editline] Sometimes I truly astound myself at least i won't get them mixed up anymore
Kekkai sensen really giving off that Darker than Black vibe for me. Didn't watch it at first but then I was able to binge 9 episodes
Ogre in Ore Monogatari really needs to stop all of his inner dialogue that's just saying the same fucking thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Good episode though.

What he's trying to say is that he likes her, because he likes her, and that's why he likes her.

I would love to see what would happen if you made two versions of the same story with almost the exact same plotlines except with one of em you shoehorn in some school scenes. I wonder if the school version would get better ratings in their key demographics despite being shitty and half assed.
broken clock
Something something accuracy of broken clocks. LOGH is a show that cannot be praised enough.
Something something accuracy of broken clocks. Saying that it's good is not an opinion, it's an unchanging fact and thus isn't applicable.

I don't understand setting anime in school, when I was highschool age the last thing I fucking wanted to watch was highschoolers. I've always wanted to read or watch stories about adults, teenagers are lame why would I want to relive my own boring life.

That being said its odd that the school setting is used even when its wildly inappropriate for the rest of the setting. This seemingly (IMO) occurs far more often in japanese media then in western media. That and what rakshi said. So often it seems to me like they design a story and then think. Hmm I suppose we need to throw in some high school scenes. I also think its odd that there are so many shows that have 12 year olds that think and act like an adult and explore adult themes. Basically if you have a story that focuses on adult behavious/themes why is it oh so important for those target demographics that the characters stay 12/15. Western shows often have near adult or adult characters even when their target demographic is very young kids (action man/He man, etc).
And coming in number 1 in "Worse title to give anything" Comes: (From the author of Kino's Journey) "I'm A High School Boy and a Successful Light Novel Author, But I'm Being Strangled By A Female Classmate Who's A Voice Actress And Is Younger Than Me" [editline]4th June 2015[/editline] Well, if not worse then at the very least dumbest.

Nobody does anything school related, the school part is irrelevant other than clubs and school trips. So often it gets in the way of the story rather then complement it.
Demographics and pandering. No high school, no uniforms, no clubs, no school trips, no school council presidents, etc.
I edited my previous post but eh to summarize: Based on my admittedly limited experience with western animation it seems this type of pandering is much more common in japanese works in comparison to western works.
