Right since you seem to be right into the OST i whole heartily recommend Nujabes, who wrote huge portions of departure. His album [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrO9PTpuSSs]Modal Soul[/url] is fucking fantastic, and [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xZY8VJHqU4]Metaphorical music[/url] is also absolutely worth a listen. He died in 2010 though. Fat Jon co-produced departure so give his stuff a listen too, and there's also the other soundtrack album, Impression, that you should listen to.

Are you trying to imply I don't listen to Nujabes' entire discography [I]at least[/I] once a day. It's part of my daily routine, along with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and a healthy dose of [B]4 HOURS STRAIGHT OF TOUHOU[/B]. Also the Ristorante mixtapes are 1.5 hours of absolute magic if you haven't listened to them yet.

I found the Early Days OVA really boring but a lot of people swear by it.
The movies are good from what I know, I haven't watched them but they seem to be less goofy antics and more grey colour palettes and Oshii navel gazing. One of them, I think XIII or whatever it's called, is good, but has like ten seconds of actual Labors and doesn't star the actual Patlabor cast.
