so just finished the first episode of Show By Rock!!
fucking amazing is what it is, holy christ
I am so sorry for doubting you Bones, please let me get off the wild ride
So I just finished NGE and the End of Evangelion and I really liked the show. [sp]I was a bit dissapointed in the movie though because at the end of NGE Shinji started to not hate himself anymore then suddenly in The End of Evangelion he's back to wanting to die and hates himself. Did jerking off over Asuka do that to him? And I didn't like how he basically let the third impact happen. Overall I thought the best part was Asuka's last stand and I wish Shinji actually became likable in the movie.[/sp]
Should I watch the rebuild series? Are they better?
That's a lot of fucking spoilers dude.

My bad but it is from the 90's, I tagged everything though.
Doesn't matter how old it is.

I didn't realize it was made by Bones, guess I have to watch it now........

Most people will tell you that a statue of limitations doesn't exist with anime. I'd say it shouldn't exist since people are experiencing many things for the first time, but I think there are some that would argue with me over that.

Just because it's x years old does not excuse spoilers. What the fuck is even the logic behind that?
"oh this series you just heard of that i just spoiled, yeah you had your chance everybody would would have wanted to watch it would have watched it by now" is the most retarded justification and I keep hearing it.

EoE is happening simultaneously to the last 2 episodes of NGE

An arbitrary "ok you can casually spoil it now because it's x years old" shouldn't apply to anything, period.

Oh also Kekkai Sensen was as cool as expected. Lookit all that budget.
Probably because it's New York but the city really feels like Men in Black: The Animated Series if all of the aliens were out in the open.
EoE is happening simultaneously to the last 2 episodes of NGE
Oooh ok that makes way more sense then! When does the last episodes of NGE happen then?

[sp]this is how the end of the series and EoE takes place http://t.s-ul.eu/mNuMsl8w.png one isnt a sequel/prequel to the other. he "let the impact happen" because he thought selfishly that thats how his problems will be solved, but it wasnt and he wanted to stop it[/sp]
as for rebuilds, first is a remake basically, things start to change in the 2nd, then the 3rd is completely different.

there'll probably be a gorillion posts on this but
[sp]Ep 25+26 take place in the moments near the end of EoE when Shinji, inside Unit-01, inside massive nude Rei, is briefly in control of the fate of the Human Instrumentality Project. when he has his Congratulations! revelation moment, that's when the massive nude Rei starts to fall apart and releases Shinji.
so it goes 24 -> EoE -> HI project begins -> 25 -> 26 -> HI project ends -> finale of EoE[/sp]
[sp]You are correct in that the mass production unit fight is the best part.[/sp]
Oooh ok that makes way more sense then! When does the last episodes of NGE happen then?
simultaneously to EoE
[sp]eps 25 and 26 are what's happening inside Shinji's head, EoE is what's happening in the real world[/sp]

Wait. Is it in New York? I wasn't paying attention I guess about that part. I recall them calling it Jerusalem but I know Jerusalem and that isn't Jerusalem.

Awesome thanks guys! Now I'm way more happy with my viewing experience! I was pretty unhappy with NGE until you guys helped out so thanks!
So is that a yes to watching rebuild? I'm pretty interested in what it changes now haha

rebuilds are worth watching if you're alright with a much, much more streamlined and less "NGE" series of movies
much less time is spent on character development and NGE's weird slow pacing is replaced by a faster, more actiony movie pace
the rebuilds are great movies (especially 2.22) but not very good evangelion movies, so don't expect them to be on nearly the same level of depth
Wait. Is it in New York? I wasn't paying attention I guess about that part. I recall them calling it Jerusalem but I know Jerusalem and that isn't Jerusalem.
Even the synopsis tells you that Jerusalem Lot is what was New York City. The first three minutes explain this as well.

if you liked NGE then why not
it's more of NGE, just with a story that diverges around the midpoint, in higher quality/resolution with newly designed 3DCG/rotoscoped Evas and Angels
at this point though i think i'm more curious about Another Impact than i am about rebuild #3+1
no magma diver and dance like you want to win. rebuilds SUCK!!
[sp]they're alright 2 is the best so far [/sp]

Oh hey that's alright. I love the designs of the EVA's and love to see them fight so Rebuild seems like it's just for me. Thanks again guys!

Aw that's kind of lame but I could always just watch those two episodes again
the first rebuild is decent, the second is good and 3.33 is trash
I never bothered with EoE. I liked the TV ending. EoE sounds like Anno going crazy with the budget and changing the ending for the worse to fit his mood at the time.
Even the synopsis tells you that Jerusalem Lot is what was New York City. The first three minutes explain this as well.
Oh, I don't read synopsis's for the most part. I guess I should've payed better attention.
EoE is the result of actually having a budget to work with. the TV ending happened because they blew the budget too early.
in my opinion it is a much more fitting and much more Evangelion kind of ending. if the series had started out with introspective montages of real life footage and an armchair psychology narration, then it would have been fitting.
i also prefer the TV ending, though EoE is very good too
my main gripe with EoE is how it kept trying to be as shocking as possible the whole time going "look, look! bad things are happening!" which just kept pulling me out of the experience
in the end the TV ending delivered the same message as EoE, but in a much subtler and less grandiose style, which i liked more
I'm taking over Fast Anime and converting it into a Sawashiro Miyuki appreciation thread.
nope not happening, this here is norio wakamoto and western order name country

it's not original, but get sugita or get out
[editline]6th April 2015[/editline]
Most female VAs I like don't have many roles anyway, sometimes I get lucky though. I can't name particularly many VAs anyway.
srry I only appreciate Ikeda Shuuichi and Sugita Tomokazu

I wouldn't say I can either, but I do have a decent ear for recognizing those I know. My favorites in general are: (Girls) Sawashiro Miyuki, Arakawa Miho, (Men), Sugita Tomokazu, Koyasou Takehito. I'm a fan of others like Kana Hanazawa when she gets good roles or Tamura Yukari (though she's retiring...). I appreciate good VA's a lot.
Edit:
(Oh yeah, shout out to Touyama Nao and Hayami Saori)
