Yeah and that's the point.
From what I can interpret from dgg's post,he finds that the animations as in just the keyframes and movement don't really look as impressive as what people say since in his eyes it's the effects that is doing most of the work of making it look good.
It's just dgg being a graphics person
well it looks like CR are officially doing the new gintama
should air around 26-27 hours from now.
Good lordy Re-Kan is what Bakemonogatari would look like if it had the budget of a Naruto filler-arc recap

and that's not just money, it's a complete lack of competency or checking. In the hour it could have taken to draw that dude popping his head out the window, surely at some point there had to be somebody thinking "maybe I should flip this car horizontally"

That colour palette is blinding. It's like somebody turned up a slider in Photoshop.

Mate it's Pierrot Plus. What are you expecting from an already bad studio's smaller team?
The new Kiniro Mosaic is so sweet. I still love the engrish they have.

Are you talking about him sticking his lazily-pasted head out of the wrong side of the lazily-pasted car? Because if so, the Japanese, like the English, drive on the wrong side of the road, and therefore the driver sits on the right-side of the car.
Still, I didn't notice how bad that car looked until you posted this still-frame.

im aussie though

No, I think you'll find that we drive on the right (left) side of the road, as opposed to the wrong (right) side of the road.
Wait a minute, you mentioned having watched over 100 shows and Haruhi wasn't part of them? Let alone the first few of them?
Jesus christ man.
I've watched a lot of shows now and only recently picked it up, and then ending up dropping it

I've seen over 250 and I have yet to watch it
I take back what I said about Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta having the best animation I've seen. That title is now given to Paprika. In other news I just finished Paprika. What an amazing movie.
As I went to put Senpai Club on my shelf I saw a copy of The Tatati Galaxy that I don't remember owning. Welp, no excuse to not watch it now.
[editline]7th April 2015[/editline]
And before you go "how do you forget something like that" just remember this is me we're talking about
I'll never quite get the concept of "no your animation isn't good, it just looks good, it's fake good animation"

Well yeah, that's how gradients and filters and shaders and various digital effects work, you slap them on and if you don't apply them poorly it looks better than the raw keyframes unless you prefer your animu to have no digital effects.
I'm not really sure how that's a point of discussion other than "ufotable is good with digital effects".
[editline]7th April 2015[/editline]
I mean yeah, no shit they wouldn't look as good if they didn't have them.
It's a point of discussion because it makes their animation look better at first glance than it really is.
We were talking about how good their animation is, and it's not as good as it might first look. Bringing up the animation of a movie is also sort of absurd when movies are shorter, they are expected to have great animation no matter what studio.
Their post-processing effects are like Instagram filters, it's aesthetically pleasing and makes the actual content less relevant.
It looks like they've done a lot more work than they have. Every drawn frame looks more detailed than it really is, making it more impressive at first glance, which makes you believe they've animated it better than they have.
It's a good animation studio, but I'd take a well animated Madhouse, Gainax(Trigger) or Kyoani show any day. To phrase it differently; I would want Ufotable to do my shows if I wanted to screencap it and use it as a wallpaper.
man if i wanted to hear this i'd go to /m/ and listen to them wank about cel animation for a few hours and how only cel has "real" colours and how gradients and shadings and lighting are the devil and 9/11 wouldn't have happened if digital animation didn't exist and so on and so forth
I mean you could just say that you think the base drawings are underwhelming/underdeatiled/could use less of a reliance on heavy digital effects rather than using animation as a blanket term.
You have an extremely simple and easily presentable argument and for some reason you've taken the most retarded way possible to phrase it.
In my opinion when it's animated with the post-drawing effects in mind it's fine. Garo's an example of a show that has flat shading when drawn but makes heavy use of gradients and the like to balance it out and make a very presentable final product.
In the example of Fate I am extremely "eh" towards the whole product. I have no strong feelings one way or the other on the art style so I can't really comment.
Fate/Stay Night just felt so... limp as an anime. Even the extreme budget injection didn't make the action particularly entertaining to me.

I think you're thinking I'm saying something else. I don't mind post-processing effects at all, they are important for a polished product.
I'm just saying that their actual animation, their frames, their drawings, aren't as good as they first let on because of the smokes and mirrors effect.
They're not poor animators at all, they're good, but there are much better studios if we're gonna talk about smooth well done animation.
I did try it, in like 2009. It made me think anime was ridiculous and I stopped watching it. I'm giving it another shot and as it turns out I was right about it in 2009, it is fucking ridiculous. The thing is I'm used to that now. I'm also watching it in the chronological order, not the airing order, so it makes a bit more sense. I'm also not watching it in hacked-up 10-minute segments on youtube like I tried last time.
Also I haven't watched EVA, Death Note, FMA, Hellsing, TTGL, or Code Geass, nor do I have any particular desire to.
I didn't have any desire to watch FMA:B nor Code Geass, I was considering not to ever watch FMA:B, and Code Geass just didn't seem that interesting.
FMA:B - 8/10
CG S1 - 9/10
CG S2 - 10/10
I noticed how you conveniently left out TTGL there dgg old mate.
I noticed how you conveniently left out TTGL there dgg old mate.
I didn't have any hesitation or doubts about watching TTGL.
Speaking of CG
I've been forced to watch Code Gayass
I got to that moment
What the fuck just happened
I didn't know you could beat Samflam for levels of escalating quickly

I wish JoJo Stardust Crusaders was as good as ep 36/37 [sp]Hol Horse + Boingo[/sp] overall.
I started Parasyte at 11:30 at night. Doesn't look like i'm going to sleep much tonight.

next couple of weeks Aereus is going on vacation so depending on if someone else bothers to try and liveTL the next couple of chapters we might have a 2-3 week pause from boku girl

The best part of falling behind on Boku Girl is there being more Boku Girl to catch up on when I eventually get around to it.

What the in the world are you talking about. Not a single moment in CG stands up to Samumenco in terms of plot escalation.
