It's considered one of the best OVAs, so go ahead. Prepare for maximum eighties.
I mean, it opens with an eighties rock band sequence and if you don't care for eighties fashion it's horrifying to look at. The eighties were not a good era for fashion.

ah, missed most of the recommended shows in the first post. might give some of the romance/drama stuff a shot soon.
I don't know, there was very few that stood out to me, and the full versions of the ones that did sounds lamer than I expected.

This sounded better in the anime. Mainly because the anime hid its repetition. Anyone know what's the name of the instrument?
I said some, not that means I meant the whole ost or anything. There is a bunch of so-so ones, especially in OST1. OST2 had a very slightly better selection of songs than OST1 did.

I've seen this thread a lot over the last few years and now that I'm finally getting into anime I think I'm going to start visiting.
I just started watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and I'm about 7 episodes in. Really enjoying it so far, and I've been told by a couple of friends that it gets even better.

part 1 is alright and all, but the show really kicks off after episode 9 when part 2 begins
Thank you FA for introducing me to love

Woo boy, that Cross Ange ep24. [sp]Poor Chris and Salia, they're such tragic characters. Also I laughed when Ange was teleported without her clothes and ring for some reason.[/sp]

Why do so many anime insist on having mascot animals/small furry "cute" things? 19/20 they never contribute anything other than being small, annoying, high pitched squeaky unfunny wastes of space that probably sell a lot of merch.
I think you just answered your own question.
I think you just answered your own question.
Just because I know the primary reason doesn't mean I can't question it. They're never cute, they're always high pitched, they never shut the fuck up and the very moment they appear on screen you can identify them as the mascot they're going to shove in your face in unfunny attempted comedy scenes. Who would actually like them?
I'm pretty sure that fucking monkey is at least 65% of the reason why I've had Utena on hold. Wouldn't be the first series where a shitty mascot has been a contributing factor to me dropping it. Last time I straight dropped a show because of a mascot it was because it sounded like a screaming baby and was the the last straw of an annoying "comedic" supporting cast who dragged everything down and weren't funny in the slightest. They were testing my patience to begin with, then the mascot came in and I just gave up.

His voice is pretty fitting.
The real question for the One Punch Man anime isn't how high-detail they can make it, but how low-detail they can make Saitama's "ok" face.
Was Working!! in the OP at some point because i'm about to start it and i'm trying to get a feel for it's quality without resorting to MAL scores.
FA, I am very indecisive. I haven't watched many animes and I am bored and what should I watch that isn't bad?
Are there any shows that have episode formats similar to live action TV shows such as Star Trek, Star Gate, House MD, etc, where the beginning of the episode sort of presents an issue or problem and then throughout the episode they all work to solve it or find out more? I find that I like those types of shows a lot. Each episode is a journey and each episode something happens.

You mean episodic? Try Cowboy bebop or space dandy.
Although those are sort of 40 minute episode type shows rather than 20 minutes which seems to be what most animes have.
e: my automerge
I'll check out cowboy bebop, I've heard of it a lot but haven't watched it.

Browse through the shows on our OP, they are shows we've all voted for, though if nothing on there interests you people can give their own recommendations that may not be on the list.
also pv for Gintama's new season is out

Try Mushishi. It's a very chilled out, 19th century version of X-files.
Working!! is one of my top anime.
