I just finished all the ????monogatari animes and... wow. What a plot. They sure took their time to detail every character.
And I didn't think I'd like it ('whats with the animation boxes why is the guy talking so weird now omfg just how many eps does second season have alone this shit never ends'), yet now I'm even missing it.
Maybe some day they'll release kizumonogatari... Maybe...
Oh well, the entire saga gets an 8.8/10 from me

very well executed individual episodes (some). loved the exploration into human psyche and true nature
slow exposé of chiyuki's life added life to her character. decim's hobby of keeping dolls of those who he's aribitered was a great touch to add some depth to his character as well
but it wasn't really enough. ep 11's explanation of chiyuki's life was great, but ep 12 felt too sudden. a slow, subtle progression of decim developing human emotions would have been better, but it just sort of boom happens. and the emotional scene just felt a little too...forced. felt like the last ep of ano hana, it was just too much too fast too sudden, and sort of took away from the atmosphere
the other characters were also a little unnecessary. someone like Nona, maybe, but some of the others were really irrelevant when you look at the entire show. what was the point of the other bartender? to juxtapose emotionless decim against someone more outspoken? the additional characters and revealing of how the "system" works (how memories are processed/sent/received etc.) sort of diluted the mysteriousness of the entire thing, which was what made the first few episodes so great. after you learn more about the system and how it works the show loses that strange enigmaticness. and for a show about death it has some very relaxed/comical scenes that sort of spoils the mood
its unfortunate that these system background reveals and character additions took screen time away from potentially more interesting episodes with other human guests. themes of ethics/morals and the importance of life could have been pressed further in that time
on the other hand, some individual episodes were fantastic. i'm just disappointed the entire show did not follow that same formula (development between decim and chiyuki is fine, i'm talking about the other random shit that goes on)
started out as a 9 with some brilliant 10/10 level eps, but the waywardness it shows every now and then kind of lowers it [/sp]

Commie's oregairu release is okay. Considering more than half the characters are awkward as shit commie can have their way with them (and does) and it still doesn't look wrong.

The kizu ln is getting sold in English at the end of this year, make sure you buy it
I figured it out.
The writers had their fun but it's over now. They knew in advance that the appeal of a cutesy Nagato would be gone faster than a snowflake in an oven. The solution of course was to bring back Haruhi and sideline the titular protagonist. The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan is [I]exactly what it says on the tin.[/I]
I really like Shokugeki no souma. It's pretty much what i hoped Koufuku Graffiti to be with some fun stuff thrown in.

I was kind of disappointed with UBW 2 ep3, they didn't do the [sp]scene where Berserker breaks the chains as well as I wanted them to, I'm no "it has to be exactly like the vn" guy but they took one of berserker's coolest moments and kind of made it lame, [/sp] and completely removed the scene where (Visual novel AND episode spoilers) [sp]Berserker REFUSES TO DIE OUT OF SHEER WILLPOWER just to comfort Illya, who is now comforted by a FUCKING ROCK[/sp]
The anime original flashback scenes were good and enjoyable, but the strange choice to alter the canon scenes for what seems to be no reason is giving me Studio Deen PTSD, also in the flashback [sp]Berserker is hurt by a wolf biting him, when only Rank A and higher magic can even scratch him, was it a fucking MAGICAL WOLF? wtf.[/sp]

Ep3 of Kekkai Sensen is out and I continue to love the show without understanding basically anything happening. There doesn't really seem to be a very cohesive narrative yet, but they do a brilliant job at expressing the story's bizarre world. The music direction is still amazing, too.
